Platinum has helped me grow as a person day by day. The guidance I receive helps me open up so many different perspectives and has led me to achieve things I that I wouldn't have imagined possible. This same guidance has helped me create opportunities for myself like improving my financial progress and creating various projects, one of which will be presented in Washington DC with a group I am coordinating. David is a mentor to all his students at Platinum. However, as time goes on, he also becomes a friend and one that his students can turn to for help no matter what. It is David's nature to make sure his students succeed at all costs. He tries his best but ultimately, it comes down to the student. Platinum's services do not work forcibly like medicine does. Platinum Academy has helped me with so much from keeping up with schoolwork and homework, to preparing for the SAT! When I first started going to Platinum, I was getting consistent B's in school, and I also scored around a 1300 (on the 2400 scale) on my SAT diagnostic. It only took a few months to bump my grades up to straight A's, but I continue going to Platinum Academy at least twice a week to keep my grades in check. Platinum Academy's tutors have also helped me score a 1500 on the new SAT, with a full score in math. The tutors at Platinum Academy are extremely kind and patient as well, and they've become more like friends than mentors over the years. They've helped me deepen my understanding in math and science, and perform better in language arts. As a middle school student, I had no sense of direction whatsoever! I was unsure of what career I wanted to pursue. I was associated with the crowd that valued fun above family and education. To top it all off, I had little to no work ethics! Fortunately enough, I was saved by grace. Now, to the "how" I was saved by grace: I must admit, when I first attended Platinum, I was bitter (at myself)! I did not and could not embrace change! But after all the years of receiving Platinum's services, I've gained an entirely new perspective of life. By far the best tutoring place I have ever been to! I've had Katy as my tutor since I was in seventh grade. Back then, I had below average grades. But since I met them, they've pushed me to strive for straight A's and do the best I can. Since I joined Platinum Academy in eighth grade, I've continued to learn with Song, David, Michael, and Katy. I can say that they genuinely care about all their students and ensure that their students are learning. I would recommend Platinum Academy to anyone I know. These people are especially helpful on high school subjects and try their best to explain things to their students. They're constantly reviewing subjects and learning new concepts to match their students curriculum, and I think that's one of the best efforts a tutor can make to show that he/she cares about his/her student. I've been here for a year and a half and I've learned so much. The tutors here aren't regular tutors, they don't just teach you what you need to learn. They go the extra mile and teach you life lessons. Thanks to David Ho, Katy Tu and David Duong I've enhanced my point of view in life.
