Peas in a pod is wonderful! We sent both of our kids here, and have been completely happy. The major things I like about Angelica's daycare: - She creates a loving and welcoming environment for the kids. They are happy and feel loved. Every day, my kids are excited to go to see Angelica. - The food! She cooks amazing, delicious, healthy, balanced lunches for the kids, and gets them started on good eating habits. - Home daycare. I think a home day care environment is perfect for babies and toddlers. To them, it feels like a second family. Angelica and her team took care of my son for almost 2 years and my son thoroughly enjoyed his time at Peas on a Pod. Angelica's daycare setup is designed for kids in mind. She has plenty of space for kid's to play and explore. The team was always attentive to my child's needs and helped him with his food etiquette as well. My child loved going to Peas and I attribute it to Angelica and her team given him all the care and attention for him to develop. As part of the tuition, delicious meals are provided to children at Peas, which is a big plus especially for busy parents (one less thing for you to worry about). It was hard for me to leave my child with anyone else who wasn't a family member, but those feelings were put to rest at Peas, all thanks to Angelica! Our daughter stayed with Angelica and her amazing team (Kellie and Renee) for several years. We toured Angelica's house while I was pregnant with our daughter. At the time of the tour, Angelica told us about Montessori techniques and her food program and other things we were learning about for the first time as soon to be new parents. We were just happy to have found a place that was within a close commuting distance from our house that was a small, boutique experience comprised of learning, play and excellent meals. Our daughter is now 6 and has won the good citizen award at her current school for being a caring individual and is thoughtful with kids of all ages and abilities and loves eating both healthy foods and eating adventurously! All of these skills are things that were instilled early on with Angelica. These were not things that we were aware of when we were looking for a place for our daughter. Angelica provides first class home cooked meals with fresh ingredients that taste amazing (I have had many samples!) Angelica's house provided a safe haven for me as a new working mom to know it was OK to go and have my own career and that my daughter was taken care of in a secondary home with love and compassion. I don't know what the word limit is on Yelp but I have to say I could write pages on the social-emotional learning that Angelica does through all early learning stages from baby to toddler ages. She does not talk about this extensively but is always doing it. I have seen many kids grow from their experiences of play-based learning with Angelica. With constant careful monitoring of interactions between kids of all ages she teaches kindness and compassion. All kids that graduate from Angelica's daycare are usually at an age where they are ready for preschool age learning. I have seen many groups of these kids and they are all curious, thoughtful, great eaters, and have learned really special things about their own interests and how to pursue them. This might be a crazy thing to think about kids that are so young but Angelica really does promote all of these things. If you are on the fence about deciding between Angelica and another place - perhaps the other place is cheaper - remember that investment that Angelica puts into her daycare goes straight into your kids' hearts, brains, and bellies. She spends her money where you want money spent on your kids, not with fancy apps and websites and lots of online posting, but with love, attention, and nourishment. Potty training was a breeze when working with Angelica and teething, weaning, and all other milestones were made much easier with her help and support. Our son is currently at Peas and a Pod and every day he shuts the front fence gate in my face and runs into the house to play with his friends, and I couldn't be happier about that for him! We have our baby here for like 2 months. Angeli is very mean to us and my wife doesn't like her. So we just want to leave this day care. And we told her on Friday, 2 weeks before we left in advance to help her to have another baby enroll. And after that she told us she will NOT return the deposit $700 as we been told we are automatically agreed to her policies. And we NEVER received any policies from email either paper from her! Angelica really helped us out in the 11th hour. We were a month away from my wife returning to work, and we still had no daycare lined up for our baby girl (we were on a few waitlists). It was then that I connected with Angelica, who luckily had 1 spot open in her daycare. After touring her house, asking our questions, and submitting our application, we were in! It would be an understatement to say that leaving our first and only baby (3 months old at the time) for her first day at daycare was difficult. But seeing how happy she was at the end of the day when we picked her up from Angelica's and Kellie's care went a long way towards easing our minds. It seemed like our baby was all smiles in that daycare. We would occasionally get pictures of her during the day, which was always much appreciated. It gave us a glimpse of how our baby was interacting with the other infants and toddlers, and I think it really helped with her early development. During pickup, Angelica or Kellie would brief us on how our baby's day went, and if they needed any supplies from us. They would also keep track of feedings, naps, and diaper changes on a daily journal. We appreciated the familial feel in the house, I think partly because they had just a handful of infants and toddlers under their care. I believe a few of the toddlers started in the daycare as infants, which speaks to the other parents' trust in Angelica and Kellie. Some very minor quibbles: We would have to ask more than a few times for a copy of their calendar, so we'd know when they'd be closed for holidays and any other scheduled breaks. Also, on occasion we'd get our baby at the end of the day wearing someone else's clothes, but we'd get her stuff back eventually. In the end, those things didn't really detract from their main purpose of childcare. We have no doubt that our baby benefited greatly from being in this daycare. Angelica and Kellie exhibited their commitment to our child's health and well-being every day. I'm sure that they would display the same dedication to caring for your child(ren) as well. read more

My Daughter started attending Peas in a Pod when she was 5 months old. I was nervous for her first day thinking she would cry badly but surprisingly she did not cry at all. What I like the most about them is they focus teaching little ones essential skills to live through early childhood such as how to go down the stairs and how to deal with their emotion. I also like that we shared her diary until she became toddler so that I could she her daily life such as number of diaper changes, food, and nap time. It was very helpful for making her routine at home, too. Although we now send our daughter to a preschool as she aged out of the daycare, Angelica and I still exchange text and photos about the daycare and my daughter, showing she still cares her. Peas in a Pod Day Care is the best kept secret in San Gabriel. If you're reading all the reviews, and feel like it sounds too good to be true, please believe the reviews because it is as wonderful as it sounds. All the old reviews reflect the same experience we had from 2019-2021. Angelica provides a clean, safe, and educational experience. She prepares delicious organic meals and snacks for all of the kiddos, and as they get older they even get to participate in the creation of pancakes, muffins, and cookies. (Seriously, our son got to eat better than we did at home on most days!) The kiddos have a ton of age appropriate toys to choose to play with, and during hot days, they even get to do "car washes"! We love getting photos of fun activities our son is doing, and he always has a blast! There is a great balance of inside and outside play, and she also provides plenty of instruction on pretend play and educational play. Our toddler attended PIAP starting at 4 months old. Angelica and her staff cared about physical and social emotional development, and kept us informed of his milestones as well as things they're working on. Our son just "graduated" to preschool, and he has learned so much while attending the day care. He knows his shapes, names of animals/fruits, and can recognize some numbers at just 2 years 4 months. We moved to the area in mid-December last year and were trying to scout day cares in San Gabriel even though our baby had a spot in a day care close to my husband's work location in downtown LA. We contacted the owner of Peas in a Pod and tried to set up an appointment with her to tour the place. We also told her that our baby already had a spot elsewhere but that we were keen to look at a place closer to where we lived. She told us that even though she had a spot she would only be interested in giving that to us if we stayed long-term. Then she told us that she was busy doing Christmas decorations and would get back to us regarding the date on which we could tour the daycare. We waited for her to call or send us a text message but she did neither. Around 6 months later we decided to give moving our child to a day care closer to home another try. I called up Peas in a Pod and told the owner that we'd moved in December and that we'd spoken before. She said she remembered and that we had not kept our appointment for the scheduled tour. I told her she'd not confirmed any tour with us and that we hadn't got any message from her even after waiting the whole time. Then she behaved in a very petty, mean and underhanded way. She pretended to listen while I explained our requirements. Then she told me that she indeed had a spot available for a year and a half old baby. When I asked her when I could stop by to tour the daycare she said: "Actually it won't work. It would be a bad fit because you don't keep your appointments. I called someone to clean the daycare for your tour and you didn't show up." I was really angry. If she wasn't interested she could have simply said no. Instead she tried to show me what a great opportunity I'd lost because I had not kept an appointment (which didn't exist in the first place) with her. I found that super nasty. I'm so glad we didn't have to deal with this unprofessional, mean and nasty attitude after enrolling our child in the day care. I agree with the owner: "It would have been a bad fit" for us and our baby. We dodged a bullet alright! read more

I reccomend this daycare for those in the San Gabriel area. Angelica is very patient and caring for all her kids that she watches. She does what she can to accommodate the needs of each family and I loved that she sent me pics of my child during the day. Her open door policy for parents is great. I was insistent that i did not want to put my daughter in a large daycare at the age of 6 months, as there really is no close interaction or attentiveness for children at that age, as well as safety from older children. After doing lots of research and many calls i came across Peas in A Pod daycare. My daughter attended Peas in a Pod Daycare full time for a few years before transferring her into a Pre-K program. From our very first meeting, everything felt right. I asked many questions, which Angelica quickly answered and put my concerns at ease. My daughter started at 6 months old, and quickly bonded. Angelica and her staff are very accommodating and understanding of the clients and children's concerns and needs. They are very attentive with the children and are very communicative with any concerns they may have. The daycare is very well maintained, children are fed healthy organic homemade dishes which you have to admit is AMAZING, and there is plenty of room and plenty of toys for the children to play. The biggest concerns for any parent are safety, cleanliness, attentiveness, accommodation, communication, caring, respectfulness, and the teaching of all of the basics the children will need once they start to transition into Preschool....which hands down they provide with flying colors!! Angelica and her staff go above and beyond and still follow up and keep in touch with the children they've cared for.
