We didn't really have an idea of what background we wanted...I just wanted to be able to hide my swollen ankles haha. Rebecca took us to a beautiful open field in Tehachapi with tall grass. She shot our kids first, which is smart because they can get pretty impatient. She did great with them! She made silly noises and faces to make them laugh and they loved her. When it was time to shoot my husband and I she had so many romantic photo poses and made us feel so comfortable. When it was time to shoot my individual maternity shots she made me feel beautiful and skinny. She kept saying how great I looked and I needed that confidence boost at 9 months pregnant!! I regretted this decision as my husband passed away two months after our boy was born. They were both so apologetic and kind and invited me back when I was ready to take baby pictures for me. I reached out again when I had reached a safe point in my grief when he was 9 months old. They even took some photos of him with his grandmothers as a combined grandmothers, baby, and mommy and me shoot. Not only did they capture one of my favorite times in his babyhood, they we so sweet with all the grandmas. They navigated a grumpy baby and were so understanding. I was having difficulty coming up with what I wanted to wear and where to get my hair and make up done. As I looked for inspo on Pinterest, I found myself discouraged as I purchased and tried different outfits on. All in all, when I told Danielle, she reminded me that my husband loves me for me - to choose outfits that make me feel comfortable and sexy. She was also able to point me in the direction of a H&MU place, which I ended up using for my wedding too! Danielle helped me choose a studio that fit the vibe I was looking for and was able to book it for the day of our shoot. The day of the shoot, I was pretty nervous and Danielle was professional and encouraging the entire session. She was excited to shoot the different themes I did as well! (Bridal, Cowboy Hat, and Dodgers) We drank Prosecco to ease my nervous, which helped quite a bit. We had so much fun we ended up staying an extra 1/2 hour to capture more!
