I was lucky enough to have Janaye take one of my maternity photos and she was really accommodating for me as I was walking with a cane and could not get around easily. She was still able to capture beautiful pictures outdoors and make sure I was safe and comfortable. I was also able to have her take family photos which I was nervous about because I have a very energetic two year old and a sometimes fussy 11 month old, but she was patient and creative with my little ones and still able to get great photos of our family despite a few baby tears and a toddler trying to escape every moment! Janaye was recommended to me by a friend after I was put into a precarious position by another photographer in Bakersfield. See, I scheduled my maternity photos with this other photographer in Aug for a Dec shoot. A week before my scheduled session, the photographer cancelled on me during the busiest time of the year for photographers. I was desperate to find someone in a pinch since when you're pregnant there is a small window to shoot. I reached out to Janaye at night and told her my story and she responded that night! Not only did she agree to come help us, but she drove an hour up a curvy canyon to get to us, AND was flexible on the time so that we could catch the best lighting. She was not only punctual but when we we met her, she had a warm presence about her that instantly made you feel comfortable and actually cares about her clients. She was really great at directing us because we didn't know how to pose and took her time to pay attention to all the details before shooting the images. You can tell by her work how much she loves what she does. She shot the most stunning images that surpassed my expectations and had them to us in a timely manner. I'll treasure the photos forever. What was initially a very devastating situation, quickly turned out to be the greatest cancelled appt of my life! She is wonderful with kids, takes beautiful new born baby pictures and has the most cutest ideas and props. She always has been able to capture wonderful family pictures with multiple children under the age of 8 and that can be a challenge. Janaye is an incredible photographer and person! She makes you every one of the members of the wedding feel so comfortable and goes above and beyond to capture all of the very important moments. I would highly recommend her for any celebration. Janaye shot one of my best friends' wedding, which took place at a castle that we rented and she had only a short amount of time to scout out the location and turn the venue into a wedding. She used a lot of creativity in her shots, including some of the angles she used with the staircase of the castle and the arches outside. Janaye took the lead but at the same time was very attentive to the bride and grooms wants and needs to give them what I think was exactly the wedding they were hoping for. She and her assistant handled every situation proactively, from proposing a schedule, to creating beautiful bouquets on the spot, and adjusting the time based on the weather. Janaye works tirelessly because she understands the importance of the work that she is doing, and takes every new job that she is given extremely seriously. That's not to say that she is serious, because she is the opposite! She is very funny and makes sure to crack jokes here and there to relax the bride and groom because she knows that they are likely very nervous. One of my favorite moments was the way that she shot the first look to create some emotional and magical photo moments. She had the groom turn away from the castle had the bride walk in from behind. Janaye spoke to both of them in a friendly and calm way (and cracking jokes) and had the bride put her hands on the grooms eyes from behind and talk to him. Then she had the groom turn around and see the bride all with super magical lighting and a castle background and with an element of surprise. He was so emotional because of the beautiful bride and the whole situation that he started crying and Janaye caught all of it on camera. Janaye did my daughter's second year birthday pictures and I was blown away by her kindness and professionalism. She was incredibly patient and didn't make me feel rushed like most photographers do. She let me do as many outfit changes as I wanted and the editing was done flawlessly.
