Their…read moreportfolio looked beautiful, and although their price was extremely high (around $30,000), I decided to move forward hoping for quality work that would last. While the steel edging for the gravel area was done nicely, I was surprised to be charged an extra $1,200 just to sink the existing Belgian block to match the new ones. That should have been included in the original price -- it made no sense to leave half the driveway uneven. Communication was also very difficult. None of the workers spoke English, so I couldn't communicate simple requests, like asking them not to urinate in my bushes. They cut stone directly in front of my new gate, coating everything in dust and never hosed it off. At the end of the job, I requested a few stepping stones to connect the front steps -- a small addition. They charged another $2,700 for just a handful of stones that were roughly placed directly into the soil. When I pointed out the scratches and poor workmanship, the owner refused to come see it and dismissed my concerns, saying "they are natural stones." When I asked again for him to come inspect the work, he became aggressive and threatened me -- saying that if I kept complaining, he would destroy my house and "rip up my front yard to make a mud pond for my kids." His tone was violent and unprofessional. I felt unsafe and contacted the police to make a report. This has been the most unprofessional and upsetting experience I've ever had with a contractor. The owner is largely absent, overcharges for basic work, and becomes hostile when questioned. I strongly caution anyone considering GODOY Driveway Company. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau to help protect other families from going through this.

I had a few other companies come and give estimates but they were lacking in the design area. Devin and his team really impressed me with their professionalism, creativity, and respect for my property. I did not have to chase them as to when they would be showing up as I have with other contractors. His estimate was very detailed and was easy to understand with breakdown and description. His 3D rendering was extremely impressive and really was representative of what he was able to create. Dan was present every single day to get the men set up and to do a check-in with me to make sure I was happy with the process from start to finish. Each day the crew left my property neat, never leaving garbage behind, and were very mindful to never leave my gates open due to me having 2 dogs. As for the work... I was unsure what I wanted exactly but knew I didn't want a cookie cutter yard like most of Long Island. Dan and Devin both worked with me to pick out the perfect colors and showed me how to best utilize the space I have. With landscaping, they were able to give me more privacy and brighten up my entire yard with beautiful perennials. The hot tub area they created with an outdoor television and pergola will definitely be used all year round. The outdoor BBQ and bar area will be the highlight of my outdoor parties! My favorite touch though was the beautiful pool and surrounding stone with an automatic pool cover which means I don't have to worry about my pups accidentally falling in when I'm not outside with them. Based on Yelp reviews we then called Devin from Flawless Masonry & Landscape who told us a circular driveway was absolutely doable! We were so impressed with Devin's design skills (including clear scaled digitized plans) and experience that we hired him on the spot. Plus Flawless's pricing was lower than other quotes we got. Icing on the cake. Then the pandemic hit so the job was delayed (NY orders), but Flawless came through after re-opening and did a superb job for us. The new driveway is both beautiful and functional, even our crabby neighbors like it! It was a big job but Flawless's skilled and friendly crew managed to finish in a week. This project entailed not only paving the yard with built in lighting, but also ripping out about 12 large trees, running a gas line, redoing my sprinklers in the back and front, replacing a very large area of grass, adding 13 bushes plus flowers, lining one side of the yard with small trees, enclosing the area under the stairs, paving the entire side of my house with concrete (after removing all the rocks), replacing a patch of missing stone on my house and building a stone BBQ area.....DONE IN 5 DAYS!!!!!! It's important for me to add that I am extremely fussy. This job was completed to PERFECTION. The gorgeous finished project was equally matched by the fabulous customer service. This entire team is prompt, patient, professional and these men literally work like machines!!! Price: Very fair The original call was answered promptly with a promise to send someone over for an estimate in 90 min. I received a call a bit later requesting permission to come a bit earlier - so courteous. We discussed what we wanted done and showed him the side fence which 2 other companies said we would need to remove. Glad we didn't. They never called or came back. LI Paving's Tom, told us they pave up to it on each side of the fence and tamp together. Tom told us how everything would go and we said anytime was good. He handed us a contract with all that was discussed fully written out and we each signed. NO PAYMENT REQUIRED UNTIL WORK DONE AND SATISFIED!! The following week, he called to ask if they could do it. Sure. They showed up Wed and dug everything up. The workers and family members work like clockwork. The belgian blocks went down beautifully. My neighbor came out to talk to Tom and immediately approved them doing hers also. They dug hers up next. The trucks were busy. The workers were busy and everyone knew their job so well. It was like watching an orchestra play. Tom and his son, Tom, worked the roller/pounder and the payloader. His son never thumped on the ground. It was so impressive. By the next evening, everything was beautifully done. We had a question the day after and he and a worker came and cut a bit off to extend our garden area. He and his sons have talent and a work ethic that can't be beat. Day 2 they were all outside at 6:30 am to clean the blocks and do whatever they were doing while I was sleeping, lol. At 8:00, the roller/pounder got going. I had done quite a bit of research after we spoke to the first 2 companies that we weren't comfortable with. Tom explained that it's all about having the right equipment, not leaving your driveway exposed for 2 weeks while you drive over the same spots. The entire driveway has to be graded and pounded equally. All my research bears that out. I almost wish I had more driveways for them to do :-))
