I was expecting much better service than I received as a customer at this location. I will be finding a new location after my visit today. There were two employees, one was very nice and helpful but the other was not nice or helpful, and she was my first impression coming in the door. I've shopped and sold here a few times, not the best customer service. But today takes the cake. I was lied to, stolen from and told to dig through the dumpster if I wanted my items back. Was promised a phone call and didn't received any call. Had a family emergency and was basically told too bad so sad. I will never shop or sell here again. What an embarrassing and unprofessional way to handle stealing and lying to your customer. Clearly when someone is selling their clothing they need money and this place lied and said they donated all my items and my daughters laundry basket to an "Animal Shelter"! Like my nice J Crew and American Eagle stuff is not sitting at an animal shelter. I know they're hanging that stuff up to sell right now. Never been so disappointed in my life. I love this store! The workers are always friendly and helpful. This store is a lot cleaner than the Arlington store. Love the music and great deals I find here. What I love is if you find something wrong with a price or product that they will fix it or give a discount on it. That is nice to know and I love that about a company. read more

This is by far the worst Platos location in the Dallas area. They play super old music, the clothes are not in style because they don't buy things that are in style. The workers literally do not care at all. They just talk to one another. The store is wildly disorganized, I mean they don't even have indicators of what shoe size is where. It's all very haphazardly done and such an overall awkward experience. If the people who worked there actually cared, it would be way better. read more

Im pretty sure the girl who accepted my clothes did not even look at it. They told me it was going to be an hour wait & I said that was fine they could call or text me. Not even 10 minutes later I receive a text after I had left saying my items were ready for pick up by Dmiya. Now I know I don't have the greatest items, but I do know I had several Express men shirts and SHEIN dresses that were practically new that were not accepted. read more

My two teenage daughters and I had a bag each to sell. They were very nice and helpful to get us started, as it was our first time to sell. We shopped in the store and found several cute things While they went through our items. They bought 13 of our items and we were happy with that. They have a "2 bin" policy at this location. I've been selling to Plato's closet for years and over that time I've been to nearly every location in the DFW area and this is the only one that has this policy, so I came in with about 4 bins worth of stuff and the lady who worked there snarkily told me they'd only look at whatever I could stuff into 2 bins. They were supposed to call me when my stuff was ready - they said it'd be about 30-45 minutes, and I stayed in the area close by waiting for the call. After about 2 hours I went back to see how much longer it was going to take and they'd already finished my stuff and the store was empty/there was no one in the line to sell stuff so it's not like they were too busy to call me. I love Plato's Closet as a whole but this store needs an attitude adjustment. read more

Not sure how they decide what to buy and what not to but I'm sure it's based on the person that's evaluating the clothing. I recently took in 10 clothing items and 4 shoes, the hoodies and sweaters weren't accepted I'm assuming due to season which is fine but I was confused when they wanted to buy the two pants from Ross but none of the ones from Old Navy, the boots from the 9.99 store and Pumas but not two pairs Air Forces. I didn't stay to ship this time but the store was definitely full to capacity. read more

My favorite resale shop! The store is always clean and I find so many great deals here, which makes me never want to pay full price again. The staff is friendly and always greets me and is always willing to help if I need some outfit advice. I've sold clothes here a lot too, and I always think they offer a reasonable price. Of course if you are selling clothes they aren't going to pay you what they are selling it for. They will give you about 1/3 of what they price it, as it is a business and they need to profit. This location seems to have their "own" rules when it comes to the business. As we all know due to COVID-19 you cannot try on clothes in store. I purchased a pair of shorts at the Arlington location and they happened to be too small. So, I brought them back to this location and they would not accept them. I called the arlington location asking if I could only bring them back to that location and they said I can take them to any store. It also does not say that on the receipt that it must be returned to the store you brought from. This is unorganized. Won't be returning! read more

Well organized and clean. The prices can be high if you know resale and retail on the other hand you can find some great deals too. I have a BA in fashion so I know a lot about pricing and merchandising for the local demographic. The designer things they told me would not sale sold in the same areas on Facebook and 5mile example I received $30 on eBay for a pair of designer jeans they did not take. Even if they bought my jeans i wouldn't have gotten that much. All that to say you can definitely find some great deals but the buying can be a bit of a rip off or a disappointment and in a lot of cases you are better off going to eBay if you don't have the time for sites and meeting people. Also the Sevice is hit or miss, some of the ladies have great customer service. read more

I went to the Ceder Hill location on Wednesday and they had a flyer that said they took short and long dresses so i walked inside and they said that the clothes needed to be folded and in a laundry basket, but I was shopping in the store and another lady walked in with a garbage bag full with clothes and the people working here let here sell her clothes. So I go back home fold the clothes like she said and put them in a laundry basket. Then today I go up there, fill out the paperwork, showed them my ID then 30-40 minutes later they rejected all the clothes I brought up there and said that they were not taking dresses. After that I looked on their website and it still says they take dresses. This place lied and has terrible service. Won't go back here ever again. read more

If you have time and patience, you can allows find something. They offer a nice variety of clothes, shoes, purses, hats, and other accessories. You have the option to buy or sell gently used clothing. Pricing is moderate. Not sure of the return policy so be sure before purchasing. I have found items that still had it's original tags, so it is possible to find new clothing. read more

I come here all the time. They always have tons of clothing items to look through. They put them out seasonally, so coats in the fall and dresses in the spring. Staff is very friendly and you can sell clothes to them, though usually they only take nice/name brands. Very clean and organized. read more

Plato's closet is my favorite place to shop for clothes. I will often go check their store for new clothes and sales after a workout, since they're located right next to 24 hour fitness. They have a good variety of name brands of shoes, shirts, jackets, and other accessories. Most of their clothes are in great condition and are inexpensive, for example t-shirts are about 6$ compared to other places that sell them for $40. It is very easy to find what you want because they are organized by what it is, then by size, then by color. Their staff are friendly and are always happy to help. Plus you can give them your old clothes and get paid for it. To summarize it in one sentence, if you like good quality clothes at an inexpensive price you won't find at other stores, Plato's closet may be for you. read more
