One of the only things this location has going for it is that it offers men's clothing. The women's selection is mostly size 0 teen clothes or ratty, too well worn, trash. The employees are consistently rude and constantly shove past you in the tiny aisles. On multiple occasions I've had employees just look at me while I stand at the register and literally talk to each other while not helping with checkout. To top it off, they never take any of my items. Men or women's. I have all sizes and styles in both. I'm done with visiting this location and will happily drive 20 more minutes north to the Fields Ertel one, where the staff is always friendly and they actually purchase my items. read more

I dropped off 2 large bags of clothes such as sweaters and long sleeves to sell. I even had a few name brand dresses and other items that were in style. It look over an hour for them to get to my items and they picked ONE ITEM for only $3. They told me they were being "super selective" and to try Clothes Mentor in Florence. It was a complete waste of time and very inconvenient. I'm going to sell my clothes online from now on to preserve my time and get my moneys worth. read more

Not sure why the other reviews are low. I bring my clothes to sell here pretty frequently and they're pretty quick and help me when needed.

I love the idea of Plato's, love buying second hand. Love the things they pick from people who drop off clothes. The store isn't very picked up or clean but that isn't why I'm writing this review. My main concern with majority Plato's around the area is THEY DONT TAG CLOTHES CORRECTLY!! Which leaves hole in the "new" clothes that I just bought. In the middle of January, 14 degrees outside and two of the five employees behind the counter had sleeveless crop tops on. Is there not a dress code policy at all? The one associate was practically wearing a bra. It made it very unprofessional as a person who came in to sell my clothes. Plato's Closet is a consignment store that deals in pre-teen and teenage clothing and accessories. I have nothing against consignment stores but I have never been impressed with this company. When selling items back to them, they are extremely picky and hardly give you anything for the items they take. I'd say on average they give $2 an item. I've gotten up to $6 for an item but it was for a never worn, tags still on, expensive dress. I wouldn't have a problem with that if the items for sale in their store were pristine and at a good price... but they're not. Every item in their store looks like it is obviously second hand, but doesn't have the price tag to match. The only time I ever go to Plato's Closet is when I have bags of clothes I plan on getting rid of anyways, and figure, why not make some lunch money. The one nice part is that for the clothes they decide not to buy from you they will donate to an orphanage if you decide you want to do that. read more

Great selection, but the aisles are super narrow. I came in last Saturday because they were having a huge sale (70% off after 4:00pm). I expected it to be packed and it was. This location is a lot smaller than the location near Fields Ertel and it felt like it was Black Friday because of all the people. I found a shirt and a pair of pants and then realized that only the items with a yellow sticker were 70% off. All of the advertisements made it seem like the entire store was marked down. I could have read it wrong, but it was a bit misleading. I still bought the clothes I wanted so it was fine. I wish I could have stayed longer so I could really look at everything, but it was way too crowded and I felt claustrophobic. Make sure you come in here with enough time to really look at everything. I feel like I missed out! read more

This is the only Plato's I've been to so I don't have much to compare it to but my teenager loves this store. This is a great place to shop if you want high end, up to date fashions but don't want to spend high end prices. My daughter finds something she loves every time. And you can usually get a full outfit for under $20. Now if you're looking at selling some of your items, don't get your hopes up. They are VERY picky. We took in a huge tote with two pairs of Nikes and they purchased 4 items and gave us $4.98. We are definetly loyal shoppers to this location! read more

I was very unhappy with my service at this one location. I dropped off clothing, no one ever got back with me and when I called they said they had my clothes, but once I arrived, they said my clothes had been donated. I had two large bags filled with clothes. They took a pair of Nike shorts. They obviously don't spend a lot of time going through their clothes. Considering it took them 10 minutes. I had a lot of rompers and other stuff in there. Only for them to take a pair of Nike shorts (which I had about 15 pairs in the bag)... what was so good about that 1 pair? Waste of time. I got $9. Woopty doo. Those girls don't know what they're doing in there and obviously don't go through the clothing very well. Would rather donate next time instead of wasting my time. This is the only consignment shop I am aware of, that sells current trendy clothing in about a 20mile radius of my home. I find the pricing decent enough and the customer service is always helpful and courteous. They have always made everything right in my book! read more

I have never had a bad experience with the Beechmont, Cincinnati location but the Florence, KY store, don't even bother. I once got $35 for a small bag of clothes from the Cincinnati store and $5 for a large bag at the Florence store. They won't take anything without a size tag on it. They say ALL THE TIME that your clothes are "out of style" (thanks for the compliment...?) and customer service is just downright AWFUL. These girls are just a few years younger than me and they look at me with such disrespect (maybe because I'm nice and make more money than them :) but who knows, really. I was once IGNORED for close to 5 minutes before anyone asked me if I was selling. They pretended not to see me and they just sat behind the counter and said nothing. Didn't even look up! Definitely will be making the 25 minute drive on the highway to go to Cincinnati to sell instead of the 10 minute drive to Florence! read more

Its very obvious that the workers at platos only buy clothes from their friends and family. The clothing selection is full of stains, holes and decade old clothing. However when people(not just myself) bring in decent well maintained items they say the style is out of date or that there is staining HA! Go to valley thrift or goodwill to donate clothes to those in need. You will be doing something good and find better clothing. read more
