We had both never been here so was curious, this is woman's clothing store w refurbished product. Apparently this store will examine used clothing and buy if in good condition to re-sale. It's like an upscale thrift store, there are some items that are brand new although still sold to Plato's. The demographic for this store is probably teenager-mid twenties, the employees were all teenagers. One good thing for someone looking for extra small size there are a lot of stock to choose. The store is 90% woman's clothing 10% mens. It says on sign near register no products will be taken unless they've been freshly laundered if you were wondering how clean. This store has lots of choices for your teenage children to stay "hip" at school, or if you are still in college. read more

Plato's Closet Florence, SC Don't waste your time or money! You can get brand new, fashionable clothing at Shein. They do not want to buy clothing, only sell! I had called prior and asked what name, size, and type of clothing before bringing 10 bags of clean hardly worn clothing. They bought one piece. In fact some of the jeans were American Eagle jeans that we actually purchased there 6 months ago from them. They did not want those either which were still in good condition. The same day that we dropped the clothing off, my grandaughter wished to buy a corduroy jacket for $10.00. The young girl promised that she would hold it the next day. We went back the next day to find out that the jacket was sold and another girl stated it was their policy not to hold items. I went on Shein and discovered that same jacket brand new was only $8.00. We took all of our clothes back and never returned to the store and will not in the future. Bad service, bad value, poor selection! read more

You may be better off going to Kohl's, Belks, or Macy's to Check out the clearance racks this time of year. I took my time at Platos Closet to check out the clothing! This store had items that were in poor condition (a black satin dress with a rip that extended the entire back of the dress!!! It was 10.00! Shoes that were worn out.--ranged 12 to 45 dollars! I will say that the young lady in the back, Jasmine was very nice and professional! I want go back! read more

Hate this place. Brought in 2 clothing items to sell. One was an $800 jacket that's never been worn and a $1200 pair of pants that's been worn twice, no stains, marks or tears. They are both Proenza Schouler items and the girl proceeded to tell me they were not name brand. She gave one look at them and handed them back and said they weren't in style, which I don't know who she is to say they weren't in style because from the looks of her, her outfit look like it came from Forever 21. The clothing items were most definitely in style. None of their clothes are in style. A pink shirt that says Namaste In Bed is NOT in style and that's what they chose to put on their racks. My clothing items were simple but sleek and most definitely in style. I think the girl who check my clothing is blind. read more
