There's a wide variety of clothes to choose from here. I've had some amazing things that I found here could work on the customer service

I want to preface this review with I am not a person that leaves reviews good or bad... EVER. BUT. I will never return to this location. I have been here a handful of times since moving a couple years ago and every time I am met with rude and judgmental service from the employees (literally teenage girls who are standing around gossiping). I have never made more than $40 selling my clothes here. Today I tried to sell several pieces of denim and swimwear. When I picked up I was told my Jean shorts had too many strings (what cut off denim doesn't????) they also only purchased one pair of bottoms from the dozen sets of swimsuits I brought in. I am not the only one that feels this is how they are treated at this location. Almost everyone I talk to about this Plato's closet has had a horrible experience as well. This place needs a serious redo of staff and policies. read more

The service there is horrible! I've gone in multiple times to sell clothes from brands like gym shark, nike, brandy, etc and have gotten low ball prices. Obliviously i don't expect to get full price but for lightly worn clothes that I got for 80+ dollars and walk out of there with 20 dollars is outrageous. Plus the woman in charge is extremely rude and should not be working in customer service. Whoever owns it needs a full rebrand and new workers... Do better read more

I've been going to this location for years now to buy, sell and trade. The staff has been nothing but friendly. They are fair, fast and kind. I fear some of these not-so-kind reviews (and frankly, down right mean) are due to the fact that Plato's did not buy much from these unkind individuals and they need a place to lash out. Plato's is looking for trendy clothing for young people. Not the stuff your everyday "Karen's" like to wear. Some of you need to take a step back and check yourself and ask why you're really mad. KK was our checkout girl, she seems like she was on one. She was so RUDE and didn't want to hear anything you have say, she cashed us out and the whole time she was in conversation with another staff (she acted like we were interrupting their conversation) I also may added if you want any evidence I recorded the whole interaction if you need some evidence to better train your staff and so you know who you left your store with. Came here for the first time last week was definitely not impressed. I went in because i had heard they bought formal dresses and my daughter had a couple dresses she is done with. When you go in, if you are trying to sell somthing. you enter your phone number and your name and drivers license information. You give them your items and then they will text you when they are done. I handed the staff (girl) my daughters 3 items. I came in with my husband as we were out running errands. She mumbled at me that it was for TEEN clothes. I responded to her that these were indeed my teenage daughters items. (I felt like this was a pretty rude comment however) Because we were in within an hour before close, we had to wait in the store. We only had 3 items so i didn't expect that it would take long. My husband and I wandered around the store, these clothes that they purchase are actually quite hideous. They are ugly and some of them reminded me of 80s throw backs. It was nothing that my teen daughter would want to wear. And I could not honestly seen any of my scouts or teens i know wearing any of the clothes i saw. They did opt to buy 1 dress for the big price of $1.95. The dress had been brand new. My daughter had bought it off amazon. Never wore it. Apparently that was all it was worth in their eyes. I took it but will never come back to this location again. Neither to shop nor to bring used clothing. Ugly clothes. Not friendly staff. Reminded me of goodwill as far as layout goes?? No thanks. read more

Love this location is dangerous because I want everything in the store. This place is HUGE and while I have been selling clothes to Plato's for years, I have never been so tempted to buy things while I am waiting. This is a blessing and curse because I love going to bring my clothes in to sell. They take a few things each time. But it is fun to look around and find some deals. They have great stuff and choose very cute and trendy things. Plus, the price is right. I got the cutest free people top for $20 bucks! You cant beat the prices and the selection. For those without time to read a long review, this is a short summary of what to expect of this particular location (based on my own experience and that of other shoppers/sellers/staff): -Unprofessional Staff: not welcoming in general, rude to shoppers and sellers alike, will openly judge how you look and what you've brought to sell, fatshaming (in 2023, somehow??). -Poor Selection: limited sizing, limited styles, outdated clothing, overpriced items, clear wear and tear on clothing and obviously unwashed for some pieces. -Disorganization: lots of staff behind the counter but all the work clearly being pushed on a select few team members, toxic work environment, untrained buyers for the clothing being sold, lack of leadership or management, putting unaccepted items for donation up for sale. I've been shopping at and donating to this location for almost a decade now. I don't know what's changed in the past past couple of years, but I had an extremely negative experience with my last visit. I brought some clothes to donate, and was immediately struck with how the environment has changed. Let me first say that working in retail, or working with the public in general ABSOLUTELY has it's challenges. Especially in the wake of the pandemic, I have no doubt in my mind that retaining and continually training staff is tough. I imagine that has been a struggle here as well. I have the utmost respect and empathy for retail/customer service workers, especially knowing these girls probably aren't making enough money to compensate for the challenges of their job. However, my experience on Saturday with some of the staff members was absolutely unacceptable. I brought in some clothes to donate, then spent some time shopping their selection while they looked through my items. When the store happened to briefly quiet down, I overheard some of the girls behind the counter say "no wonder she needs new clothes, look at what she's wearing!". I immediately took notice, but shrugged it off, because I thought that there's no way they were talking about a customer like that. When my items were ready for pickup, I went to the counter and was informed that they wouldn't be buying anything I brought in. I've seen people complain about the buyers being "picky", but it is what it is. I had no problem with that. What I did have a problem with, however, is what I was told in regards to my clothing. The buyer I spoke with told me my items were being rejected because of general wear and tear... And because they aren't looking to buy clothes *that* big. I was so startled that I didn't really bother to stand up for myself. But I'm still just as confused now as I was then, seeing as nothing I brought in was even plus size. It absolutely breaks my heart to see this is not a unique experience at this store. I see a lot of women and young girls being told similar things by the staff here, and these are just the few that have bothered to leave reviews. I've read that Plato's Closet has shifted their target demographic to juniors/teens, which is totally understandable and maybe even a good business decision on their part! But to cater to such a limited range of sizes and shapes, I wonder if management thinks teenage girl = skinny and short? Yikes! I won't be returning, and wouldn't recommend anyone spend their time or money at a store like this. read more

I always shop here. Love the clothes and prices. But the staff is super disrespectful making me not want to shop there. They give you the most judgmental looks and the way they talk to you makes you feel uncomfortable. Terrible customer service. Even my friends went other times and thought the same way. Very rude employee, chubby one with long black hair, very unhelpful and seemed bothered to help me. Made me feel bad about my sizes for jeans at the fitting rooms, and I don't think I'll be coming to this location. Everytime I go in with my wife the staff refuses to help us and stares and laughs. I've seen it happen with mainly bigger girls. They are very rude and catty. I do not recommend this location solely due to the people they hire. You work at Plato's closet. Stop acting big and bad. It makes me very sad because so many people are already uncomfortable going into clothing stores due to insecurities and this store would make them feel worse. You shouldn't walk into a store and immediately feel unwelcome because of rude staff. It's disgusting. Absolutely horrible experience EVERY single time I go in. I gave them a chance. Three in fact. The last straw was when I went in with a brand new (tags still attached) backpack and some Victoria Secret Pink clothes (all less than a year old and in excellent condition). I decided I would shop while they looked at the stuff I had for sale. To my surprise I got a notification saying my bin was already sorted not 2 minutes after I dropped it off. I went to the counter to ask about it. She said the following with a smug look on her face while she crossed her arms and smirked in my general direction; "Look...We just aren't buying these types of things right now since we're so busy getting ready for back to school." Uhhh... So the brand new backpack from Target? Is Pink suddenly out of style? It was painfully apparent this older blonde woman simply didn't want to do her job. She wasn't just rude. She was condescending and borderline aggressive. This older elitist woman... Idk.. it was like she was trying to pretend she was still young and better than everyone who came into her shop. Don't shop here. Don't support this terrible place. There are some lovely boutiques here in Fort Collins and in Loveland. They care about their clothing and they care about their customers. Seriously disappointing when I bring in brand new American eagle clothes and many button up shirts that look nicer than anything else in the ratty guys section. Jeans that are brand new with awesome styles and relevant sizes. Also when I wait for them to turn away every item I bring I DO NOT shop because they don't have anything worth my time and the store has a bad smell and consistently annoying terrible music. The layout is awkward and the lighting is kind of low so you can't see how faded shirts are. Then when it's all over they ask if you want to donate your stuff?! I am aware you want my stuff but aren't willing to pay for it. This store sucks. Don't go. Same parking lot has a tj max. Same prices but actual new clothes and a decent shopping experience. So I came in at 10 in the morning when they open mind you barely any people there. Dropped off 2 bags of clothes they told me 10 to 15 minutes so I walked around the store. Got a text message saying it was done 3 minutes later. I go up there and the girl was like yeah sorry we dont want any of it...well first off i know for a fact they did not go through all the clothes they were folded the same exact way all places in the same way second there where very nice name brands in there that were barley worn just didn't want them anymore. No greeting at door. These girls are super snobby and have terrible attitudes. They'll judge you off the rip from your appearance and won't accept clothes from you if you don't look rich. Dropped off 4 bags of clothes and they didn't even go thru them, received the text that they were done 4 minutes after I dropped off 4 full bags. If they had opened it up they would've seen that most of it was new with tags and never worn, had lots of new Gucci, Chanel, and Luis Vuitton that my mother doesn't want/ need anymore. This Plato's closet is absolutely awful. Let's start with the staff. They are so incredibly rude and so unprofessional. I came in a few weeks ago and had probably, 5 bags of clothes. They were "done" going through everything within 30 min. Don't give you anything for the stuff you bring in. They were rude to the girl in front of me and very quick to shut her down. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AT THIS LOCATION. To start off I've been to multiple Platos locations and I've had way different experiences so I do believe that this is just this location. I don't think I've ever had a positive experience in this specific Platos in the four years I've been living and going here so finally I'll write a review. I came in I dropped off two full bags worth of clothes. All of it was purchased within the last three years and included two pairs of Lululemon leggings a pair of Lululemon shorts, Steve Madden high heels that have been worn once and bunch of other good stuff. Don't waste your time here. They told me to expect it to be 35 to 45 minutes to go through all of my clothes. It took them eight minutes I doubt they even opened up my second bag the workers there don't really give a fuck, they ripped a giant hole in my trash bag, so it was super difficult when I had to take all of my stuff back to my car. They are just trying to get the line out the door as soon as they can. You're better off selling on Facebook marketplace or on poshmark which also I was told by the Platos girl furthering that they really don't want your stuff. Place is gross and smells like a thrift store. You're better off shopping at a thrift store to be honest all of their clothes are from shien, but marked up to the price of normal clothing items. read more

Super easy to bring things in. Super nice and helpful. Brought daughters clothes in, lots of American Eagle and Old Navy items. They took about half but pay off was good. They donate what they don't take so that makes it easy. Definitely recommend this place for shopping as well. Lots of workout clothes, including Lulu Lemon and Fabletics. They carry a lot of jeans and Jean shorts. Prices are good as well since everything is brand name and great condition. read more

They acted above him and talked to him like he was stupid and he left due to the disrespect. As soon as he walked out of the door they started mocking and talking about him. the Fort Collins location has always been notorious for rude behavior from the staff but this was a new low. I had just dropped a bag for resale and when I came in for pick up I had the entire group (at least 7 girls) of staff up front chatting (with one another) and ignoring me. Many of them had looked over at me standing there, and I was still not helped. I had to interrupt personal conversation to get someone, and she rolled her eyes that she had to ask someone to get my bin. I was then laughed at by a cluster of the staff still chatting on the side once I said to donate all of my bag (?). Platos closet has really gone down hill in their attitude over the years. If I wanted that experience again I'd take a trip over to FC High. read more

Almost always find something when I'm there. I do agree with other reviewers that some items are priced too high, however, it beats looking through the racks at Goodwill or other thrift stores around town. My only real complaint is that selling here is very hit or miss. I'm told my clothes (which are usually new or gently worn) aren't what they're looking for even though I see those same brands or exact same styles currently in the store. I've had much better luck selling at other Plato's Closets. As far as service goes, everyone is always friendly and accomodating. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Do yourself a favour and don't shop here! I thought I would sell some clothes today, and then donate what wasn't sold. This was only my second time here. The last time I brought in clothes of the same brands as today (Zara, Free People, etc.), I was offered some money, not great, but hey I made a decent $50 (but, I brought a LOT of stuff). I took the money and though "cool, sushi on me tonight; the clothes were going to sit there anyway." Today was a different story. I brought in things that in my opinion FAR surpassed the shitty junk I saw in their store. They passed on Lucky brand shorts, Zara silk pants, just to name a few, and yet all I see in their stores are shitty brands like Forever 21 and H&M!!! Everything in their store (and I walked through it all) is in poor ass condition and overloaded with floral, slutty-looking crap that's made of cheap fabric. How can you have a million pairs of shitty brands jeans and pass on quality clothes? I walked through the ENTIRE store and couldn't find ONE thing I actually liked. I say it again, holy shit the floral and cheap lace clothing was almost a hallucination. By no means does this place have any quality items! Upon examining my bag at home, I find a piece of paper with information on it, and in it encircled 'recent styles' as a recommendation of what to bring it; i.e. hinting my styles were not. That's laughable since the clothing I purchase is classic and doesn't follow such shit fads as what they have in their store. This place is SO overpriced, over-rated and I am OVER IT! I have been shopping at vintage shops my whole life, and I move throughout N. America about every 2-3 years, and this place has NOTHING on what's out there. I came in with a few small bags of clothes around 5:35 and was turned away - I called earlier and was told they will be open u til 6, no mention that they stop taking items 30 mins before closing. They insisted I come back tomorrow morning and I told them I was leaving Fort Collins and would not be able to come back, I was still turned away.
