Absolute train wreck of a store! You walk into 3 young associates who do not bother to even acknowledge you but hey they were to busy singing to the music and talking amongst each other. I start looking around at the front because this was my 1st time (and last) in the store and they still do not acknowledge my presence (I am standing literally 10ft away from all 3 looking a bit dazed as there was so much clutter everywhere that you did not really have a focus point to look at. I then make my way back to the men's shirts (that's what I came in for) and I find that yes they may be colorized but sizing..GOOD LUCK!!!! It was a total roll of the dice what size you were going to come to next....S,XL,L,M,XXL......but worse than that was that the racks were sooooo tight that you could not slide a hanger left or right, not a single cm!! There were shirts fallen down under the racks, horrible and the smell, grandmas attic. But lucky for me I did find 3 tshirts and after wandering the women's section which I actually pulled about 10 pair of shorts off the rack just so I could see what was on it the bar was that tight. But a laughable moment was when I picked up a pair of Walmart tennis shoes that looked like they were 15yrs old and a mess and out of curiosity looked at the tag, $35! Ohhh myyy! This store is in big trouble if they do not find fashionable buyers and fix their floor. So then I go to the register to pay, total inconvenience for them I could tell but one of the men's tshirts still had the store tag $6.88 and they were pricing it $10. I showed Faith, my cashier who took it over to another young girl and came back and said "this is what our system priced it at, nothing we can do" I said no thanks I will go buy it new. As a DM for Uptown Cheapskate, I would be appalled if one of my stores looked like this or my associates treated customers with such disregard to not even say hello upon entering. I was very excited to see this store and go in until I got in it. If I were the owner of this franchised store I would strongly consider an overhaul or it just is not going to last long in the current condition. Very very sad to see. There is soooo much potential in these resale stores if run properly but these are deadly to the longevity of the store mistakes. The young female staff acts as though it's an inconvenience to have help customers in anyway. Most of the selection at this particular Plato's Closet looks like garage sale leftovers. A joke if you're trying to sell to them. I had brand new VS things and other items with tags plus several other VS and expensive name brand items and they offered $27 for it. And then they told me all of my clothes in one basket were still damp from washing them. And there was maybe 3-5 things out of the whole basket that were still damp. Do not waste your time trying to sell to them. They used to be really good. And now I guess with the new employees and manager they're not at all. read more

I pop in here once in a while, I last stopped in and sold a lot of clothes. Like two totes full. I sat on the clearance table for 45 minutes (you can check the cameras lol ) waiting for my clothes to be processed. I then got a text telling me to grab my totes while they finished up. My husband had been waiting in the parking lot so I stepped outside for MAYBE 5 minutes after the text to ask him to assist me with my bins. When we walked in, the rude short haired cashier was like "you do realize it's an in store wait" I proceed to tell her I just stepped outside to get help from my husband. She was like "umhm I literally just watched you guys walk in together" and in my head I'm like well duh I just went to get him for help lol. She was SO rude for no reason. Don't pick a tiny argument when you're wrong. I see you guys are hiring an awful lot - I suggest finding quality kind employees because apparently unprofessional behavior is your most commented flaw on the reviews for your location. It's taken a couple years but since a good friend told me Plato's was decent to try again I decided to since teenagers break the bank. Fortunately, my 13 year old daughter found a ton of stuff she really liked and I liked the prices. I also like the rewards that add up. I was already a member of 5 stars reward ap so it was easy to just put in my number and collect my rewards. I've been back twice now and it's not nearly as crowded and things seem to be laid out a little better. Some items still seem pretty pricy for used to me, depends on the sales you can find in other stores. It's a more viable shopping option to me now. read more

Total waste of time.... Today I went to platos closet to try and sell some of my name brand items. Items that I took were from Gap, Old Navy, American Eagle and Nike mostly. After waiting with no customer service for many minutes, We were told they would pay 30% for the items they wanted because they sell them 70%. They kept 6 things out of my maybe 30 things, two of which were Gap pants $50 each never worn with tags still on them, along with a jacket and a couple other pants. I was surprised and disappointed when all I was offered was $26 for these items, and the reason I was told they didn't accept the other items was for "fuzz and fading" when half the items in the store were in deplorable condition. I left with many name brand items purchased in the past 2 years that I will donate to goodwill. It seems that the method for choosing items to keep and the staffs attitude were very subpar. read more

Lol wow ok so this is probably the worst Plato's closet I've ever been to they Offered 3$ for 2 items out of a whole bag of clothing. 1.50$ for a brand new name brand fall style dress & 1.50$ for an old navy tank top. At that rate I would go donate to a clothing drive or homeless shelter before I accepted 1.50$ for any item in brand new condition, and I'd urge everyone else to do the same...Then they Tried to lie and say some of the pants in the bag were self cut (I've never self cut any clothing before in my life ) & said most items were "really worn/old looking" yet only a few items had any sort of pilling the rest were in great used condition, the same as any other clothing found at their store- some of my items were in like new condition (only worn once or tried on once) Seems like workers are just lazy and could not give a crap about their job by their attitudes. You'd be better off selling on Poshmark or mercari especially for name brands like most of my items that were in like new condition or great used condition. read more

Currently sitting here waiting on my buy to finish. This Plato's gives me the strangest vibe. I walked in and the young lady at the buy counter seemed really upset and as tho she didn't want to be bothered. I placed my bags on the counter and the first words out of her mouth to me were, "ID?" So I replied with "hi! How are you?" She replied with "good....actually no, I'm not good" not making eye contact the whole time. I tried to project positive and happy energy onto her, but this was not happening. They were playing morose music that just created this all around depressing vibe. None of the employees were happy to be at work. They all seemed burdened to be there. Please please please, for the love of all things that are good in this world, do NOT apply for a customer service oriented position if you are not prepared to give excellent customer service. Now onto the selection. I came in with a bunch of clothes to sell as I have lost a lot of weight. I was excited about looking for new clothes to fit into. The selection was crap. Absolute crap. In the entire store I found 3 quality pieces, that turned into two once I tried the romper on. It had a hole in the back where the zipper was . Super frustrating. I have work at a Plato's closet before. I came to this location on a pretty busy day, I was waiting in line to check out with only one register open. Another girl comes and opens a second one and calls the person standing in line behind me. When it was finally my turn the cashier didn't even greet my husband or me she was quite the whole time till she said the total. The staff was very rude would not recommend shopping here. read more

Workers had a bad attitude from the start and were very short with me as soon as I walked in. I went to sell my clothes and had two large boxes completely filled. They bought a few items and I took the rest home, only to discover they didn't even look through the boxes. Everything past the first layer of clothes on top was folded the exact way i put it in there, like they hadn't even taken it out. I've been here a few times to sell some clothes and it's been okay in the past because I was able to drop off my clothes and come back later that day. However, they've changed their policy to where you have to stay in the store while they check out the items you're selling. I asked how long the wait would be and was told about 30-35 minutes which is quite a wait, but I figured I could pretend to look around for that long. Well it's now an hour later and I can see them finally checking out my bag! Luckily I was able to write this review while patiently waiting over an hour only to sell one item. I'd be more understanding if they were busy, but there was literally only 3 people in the store... Maybe I would have generously given another star if they at least had somewhere to sit while waiting. read more

I have never had a great experience with Plato's closet. The most they will give for a premium pair of jeans like Miss Me or Rock Revival is $8. Then they turn around and sell them for $45. I can sell these jeans on Poshmark, Craigslist, or other local buy & sell apps for about $20-30. I understand that they have to make their money too, but when I only get $8 and they make $45, I don't see how that makes it worth it for me to sell to them. read more

I just wanna say I made a Yelp account in order to review this place. My first visit I just went to look around during the week and like the other reviewer, wasn't impressed with their selection at all. I find more items at Ross than I do at this store and at least at Ross there is room to move around. You can barely shop in this store as someone is always asking to get by and the sales people aren't very helpful. I returned this past Sunday for my second visit and I will not be returning. I thought I would try selling them some items before I donated them to the homeless shelter. First of all, I was told there was a 3 hour wait when there was only 2 people ahead of me. Now I took 2 big shopping bags full of clothes to them, and upon returning was offered less than ten dollars for 4 items. That's FOUR items. The rest were supposed to be returned to me and upon going through the one bag I received back, they kept way more than the 4 items they claimed. THIS PLACE IS A RIPOFF!!! I easily brought in over 50 items and only about 10 were returned to me. I will not be doing business of any kind with them again and I encourage others to stay away as well. The only reason they receive 1 star is it's required to post a review otherwise they would have gotten none. read more

They are liars! Why did I try this place again? I just moved & I wanted to donate my once worn heels & boots, jeans & party dresses that I got from Nasty Gal & they wouldn't take my clothes bc they were in trash bags. I would usually bring a luggage, but I just moved! I'm just trying to get rid of my nice clothes to make the move lighter. They told me they had ONE bin & in use! Dude seriously? This place gets their inventory 100% via donation & u mean to tell me theres ONE BIN in the whole store! They are liars! I will NEVER return! I will take my clothes, once again, to Goodwill. I like the store, because of the inexpensive clothing I have found there, but when I went to sell some old clothing of mine that was very well kept, some still had the tags on them, they rejected the whole box. This store is great! They have fabulous buyers there so everything in the store is a current style that you can basically buy at the mall next door. The store was chock full of clothes, accessories, purses, and shoes in many different sizes. I appreciated that they had loads of size xs small. Oh! One more thing, they have a fabulous nike athletic clothing section that is amaze balls. I didn't buy anything this time but I sold a few items including an Abercrombie Army jacket and Paige jeans in 24 petite. read more

Never have i sold here, I solely go to this location to shop and always find something I can't live without. It's just one of my highly anticipated stops when I'm in Killeen. After today though...I might be hesitant to spend any of my money there considering how poor the customer service is. Some of the females attitudes are just rude & they shouldn't be representing a business that relies on customers to consign. So here's why I'm taking the time out of my day to do this review-i was gonna let it go but, i spend too much money in this store to get treated like i was. -So I'm being checked out by a female w/ glasses at one of the registers & as my items were being rung up i ask to see a sweater on display (behind her), i decide against it-thank glasses and apologize for inconveniencing her. THEN another girl w/ long dark hair approaches the register shoves my items and literally "shoos" me & glasses to another register-waving hands and all. No explanation. No apology. Went there today with 6 leather name brand purses all in super nice clean condition. Just trying to downsize. I waited in line to sell for about 15 to 20 minutes, no big deal. Once it was my turn, the clerk looked at the purses, looked at me, then looked at the purses again. I was thinking,"What the heck is wrong with this lady?" She then looked up at me and said," I'm sorry but teens & 20's wouldn't buy these purses so we can't buy them from you!" I was like... What? I said," No problem, your crazy, these purses are all ages but since I'm in my 40's I better get out of here!!!" SMH Whew! I noticed when leaving on the sign out front under "We Pay Cash for You Items" it says IF they are for teen and 20's. REALLY? Oh and the place smells terrible. I always shop her because I don't really wear clothes more than once, so I rarely buy brand new clothes. The staff is nice and helpful. When you have too much clothes in your hand, they give you a bin, so you don't have to walk around with them. The prices are fair, some of the shoes are kind of expensive for final sale though. When you're selling clothes to them, they barely take anything or give you money, if they do take it. I went to another Platos and they took my name brand stuff, with no problem. There is a perfume smell in there that makes the place smell bad, and if you have allergies, it will suck for you cause it's really strong. read more

Ok, let me just say "I did not like my experience here!" For one reason only, and that was because, the clothes in this store are "used!!!" Let us not forget this. Tell me why you are going to make the clothes in your store cost as much or if not more then some of the prices you see at Ross and other stores??? I was expecting to come in here and get some gently used clothes, but when I seen some of the prices , I was amazed! I actually went up to the front to see if they would maybe come down off of a shirt that had an obvious stain on it, but she wouldn't. This little t-shirt was $6.00! That's the price of a new shirt at Ross, without stains! So won't be going back there! Its a shame cause I like to save money and Im not all about the Jones' and what they are wearing, but I like to shop for less and still look great! Can't do that here! I don't understand the negative reviews on here. People complaining because they had to wait over 30 minutes when they admit they brought in "huge bags" of clothes. The employees have to evaluate each piece of clothing and accessory item that is brought in. It's not like there is a magical machine that can appraise items instantly. I have had a great experience here both times. The staff is very professional and you can tell they practice what they say to customers. The items they did not want to buy from me, while I was disappointed, the staff was very kind and professional in their explanation. Plus the clothes they sell are at a great price! read more

Terrible experience, went to take a large bag of clothes in.... Brands including Michael Kors, Miss me jeans, heels, new express jeans... And they said 45 minutes I went back said they didn't want anything gave me ticket and I left. Got in the car and it was the wrong ticket with someone else's information. Went back and got my ticket, no notes or anything the girl said it had been gone through and nothing has been moved. They were busy and I don't believe they went through a single thing. Don't even waste your time. First off, the staff is RUDE. No customer service skills AT ALL. We walked in and weren't looked at or greeted for quite some time despite holding a huge basket clearly needing assistance in the buying process. After a while they finally acknowledged us but weren't friendly or inviting. They all came off like they were too busy to be bothered even though one of the three girls at the front was just standing there. When we got the quote for what they wanted we were only offered 26 dollars even tho some things still had tags that were high priced items and we were told we would get 30% of the value and didn't get anywhere near that. The things they didn't take made no sense either. They were nicer than the things they did take.. Nike, gap, American eagle, etc .. and the reason was for "fuzz and fading" even tho they had some questionably disgusting yard sale garden shoes sitting front and center that looked like someone's grandpa had worn them to work in the coal mine for a few years. But my name brand Nike jacket didn't make the cut? Ok. Aside the items not being sold tho them being rude every time I go there has made it to where I won't go again. This is my third terrible experience with them. Just donate your stuff to a church or something so you can do a good deed and don't even bother with this half ass resell store. read more

This location has been a great source of new and slightly used items that went well with my current assortment of wares. The staff is quite helpful at helping accommodate a certain outfit you are trying to put together. The men's section while sparse can be a treasure trove of hidden gems and I have struck it rich on more than one occasion. This store really sucks, you go in with new or barely wore clothes and they still find a reason not to buy them. My wife went in with some clothes she bought for our daughter, mind you she just bought them 4 months ago, and the clerk wouldn't even look at them. I want to start by saying I love this place! And I do not understand the bad reviews people are leaving. I have never had a bad experience with this place. I would honestly rather shop here for clothes than at Ross because Ross doesn't sell all the name brands such as American Eagle, Miss Me, Rock Revival, Ralph Lauren Polo and many more. For it being a gently used name brand store the prices are VERY reasonable ($55 for a pair of Miss Me jeans is such a steal!!) and one of the things I really love about this place is it's not like a normal thrift store where they take any and everything regardless of condition,they actually inspect clothing items and make sure they are buying things in good condition. The place is very well organized. The amazing customer service just makes the entire experience that much more amazing. Keep up the amazing work Platos! read more
