I've brought items in here a few times and have almost always been quickly assisted by friendly and welcoming staff! I really enjoying bringing in clothes and seeing what they have, I always find a few great treasures! If you've never been, i definitely recommend stopping by! I was really impressed by how many great name-brand and like-new items they carry, and their pricing is great! This store is a little out of the way for me, so i call ahead now to ask if they are doing buys- they can get pretty busy during sales and stuff. I've always felt that what they give me for my items is pretty fair- they don't charge very much for their clothes, so somewhere in their price structure they've gotta pay to keep the lights on! I definitely recommend this place to shop, especially if you're looking for a more curated secondhand selection, their items are really cute and trendy! Wish I didn't have to leave a star rating, as this location gets none from me. It actually shocks me how these businesses continue to stay open. Poor customer service and when you walk in they tell you should have called first because they stop accepting buys at 1pm. However maintain store hours from 10a-9p. You really have a better bet just donating and getting a tax write off. read more

Walked in with massive amounts of clothes and they did not buy a single item. Told me they show wear and over half the items were in new condition and some still had tags on them. So clearly they are not really searching through all of the clothes.. Told it would take 20 mins to sort through and they were finished in 15 mins and not a single item was accepted. I am a regular at this store, as I love to thrift in my free time. However, every time I walk into the establishment, I am not acknowledged and/or I receive several ugly looks from the ill-mannered teenagers working here. The music is ear piercing and un-godly. The store looks like it hasn't been properly cleaned since the store has opened. Also, one of the employees here is constantly taking vape breaks right infront of the store. Not very good advertising if you ask me. It also smells highly of radioactive material and a biohazard. I also feel as though the submitted clothing is NOT thoroughly inspected as I have found multiple stains of many various colors in the crotch of my pants! The staff, including the manager are all young and do not know how to run a Business. I went there about 2 weeks ago and had to update my phone number, which the lady said I would have points next time I came in. I came in today to find out they typed in my number wrong and I lost all of my points. I made the remark "you need to learn to do your job then" , after she said there was nothing they could do about it. She threatened to call the cops and said I could not purchase the clothes. I've gone here for years, and the young management has no idea what their doing and I will be reporting it above there head tomorrow morning. read more

Well it's true this place is an absolute joke. Do not sell your clothes here the kids are uneducated in fasion and even worse they took half a bin of my clothes and offered me $32.66. I had brands like kendall and Kylie, chic, American eagle ,miss me ext even tank tops and things with the tags on it . They absolutely low balled me when I see they are selling USED SHEIN for $8-$10 per item. If I could give 0 stars I would.. I've moved and lived ALL over the country, mainly WI, and have been to MANY different Platos.. never have I been so disappointed in my favorite store to shop at. They don't buy mice clothes from people, so I can't find nice clothes that I actually like.. Its like shopping on Marketplace! Disgusting. I've LOVED every other one I've shopped at, but the CHILDREN who "run" the store (more like run it into the ground) have NO clue what A good quality fabric/piece of clothing looks like. They don't know brands. Im someone who doesn't care much about what brand people, or I, wear, but i definitely know more than these kids who get paid to do their job but don't actually do their job...If that's what they're ASKED to do for their position, then the owner of this store should reconsider owning a higher end, resale shop. Your people don't know what the Buckle brand is... and we are in more of a "country" area of the state than a lot of the other locations I've shopped at. I used to spend $500/$600 in one trip.. but this location? I would cry if I had to spend that much cuz the clothes aren't worth it. The only downside with Plato's closets are that they are subjective when "buying" peoples used clothes. And I use quotes because they give you a few quarters for a $250 pair of jeans from Buckle with the tag still on. The girl refused to buy jeans that had any gems or jewels on them for show and said that "people don't like the gems"... I'm sorry, WHAT!? This Plato's closet is the WORST Plato's I've ever been to in my life. And I was a shopping fanatic years ago, I still have closets full of clothes with tags on them. I'm broke and could use the money as I'm a full-time college student, but I think I'd be better off just donating them so people who aren't as fortunate can have a chance to get nice clothing. It's just too bad. But the owner of this particular Plato's needs to put a basic "buying chart" together for its employees because the employees dont like anyone else's clothes, but it's funny they judge that because they are wearing Walmart clothes themselves. Nothing wrong with that, Walmart clothes are better than what this store Carries anyways.. But I think there needs to be basic training and rules (not just a piece of paper saying what they buy) for their employees, Or they WILL go out of business. I have nicer clothes sitting in my upstairs room wasting space than what this location Carries. DEFINITELY worth the drive to ANY other location tho, I love this chain, but this store in particular needs some help, and they need to hire mature girls, not little girls who think they can talk to their customers, or just OTHER HUMAN BEINGS in general, in such a disrespectful, nasty way. I hope they fix it, and FAST. I'd say fire toyr whole staff, increase wages by a little bit, give them basic training on what a nice piece of clothing is, and I think the store can take off and people can make money on their old clothes and YOU (owner of this location) can make bank.. but instead you Wanna pay minimum wage to high schoolers (who act like middle Schoolers) and hope to your god that you can make a profit. Giving one star is being generous. I drove 35 minutes to get to this specific Platos closet because its one of the only locations near me. As soon as I walked in with my clothes the employee turned me away, and said sorry we are short staffed there is no way we will get to that today. They gave me no options but to leave. I was NOT asked if I wanted to leave my basket and come back at a later time it was just an immediate no we can't today. I understand being short staffed but you have to give customers options. This store is incredibly disappointing. I tried to sell new urban outfitters jeans from this season with the tags still on and in perfect condition. The original cost of the jeans that was clearly seen on the tag was $89. They offered me $8 for the jeans and a pair of Nike shorts combined. read more

DOOR SLAMMED I'm not sure how to rate this place. My wife walked in with two large bags of clothes and they didn't buy a single item. The staff informed us, "That the clothes were too mature and higher end for their store." What? It felt a little offensive considering the clothes are from nice designers such as Abercrombie, Guess, Hollister, Nordstrom, J. Crew & Saks. I guess we should have walked in with a bunch of crappy clothes. I can feel great knowing that my wife's clothes are too nice to be purchased at a resale shop. My little girl was very excited because she asked if she could have both bags for herself. She's so cute. Out first mistake was even stopping in here. We typically sell them in Chicago and the shops scoop up everything. In fact, one store in Bucktown has asked to only come to them and to go no where else. We learned our lesson and won't make that mistake again...Chicago here we come. The young staff was nice (5 stars) and I can't get mad at them. I'm sure the owners would have been mad if the employees bought a bunch of fancy clothes that no one in Kenosha would ever wear or buy. So I can't fault them for doing their job. I'm just not sure how to rate this place. I walked out feeling mad and offended. I felt like giving 1 star in my heart but I can't be mad at the staff for doing their job. I've decided to go with 2 stars for wasting our time. I didn't set up the business plan here. I've just never seen a place not buy a single item. The staff did give us a list of consignment shops in the area that deal in higher end clothes. We won't be visiting those places cause we will be bringing our two bags to Chicago. BUYING stuff here is usually nice, they have some good Lucky Brand mens jeans for around $20, can't really beat that. SELLING stuff here is basically pointless. Came in a few times with bags of True Religion, 7 for All Mankind, and Lucky Brand jeans that didn't fit anymore (stupid metabolism!) and they didn't take any of them, because "those brands don't really sell here". Picked out a pair of boots, looked like they had been used for a couple of months. They had them priced for $50 dollars which I thought was kind of steep for a used pair of boots, so I looked them up and saw that they were $50 brand new I asked if I could get some sort of discount but they refused and said someone else will buy them for that. Have tried a couple times to take clothes in here, To no avail. Last time we had a teenage girl who only looked through about a quarter of the bag, then promptly told us that the clothes were "too old" and "really ugly." The clothes in the bag were purchased less than a year ago, most were American Eagle and Hollister. We won't be back to sell or to buy, due to the clerk's rudeness. Very disappointed selling clothes there. They give you the whole rehearsed company spiel! I browsed the store while they "inspected my clothes". Most of the clothes in that store are not worth the price at all. Perhaps $2 at best! They returned several of my items with yet another spiel of how they were worn in places and so on. None of which was true! I was actually shocked they did not take the brand new top. I took the whole $12 for most and walked away with some clothing. The worst! The clothes and shoes there are not worth it. Not to mention the employees looked like they stepped out of bed! Shame Plato's!! read more

This place is horrible! I knew as soon as I got there the black girl who helped me was in over herself... She told me it was 20-25 mins, an hour later no phone call and to top it off, they didn't take new brown and black doc martens, 2 brand new calvin klein pants, buckle jacket, trucker jacket and felt mainly because I was BROWN.
