Super bike shop. I have been to the bike shop at this location since the mid-80s. It was a fixture in the area then and it continues to be a local community friendly bike shop. Recently attended a winter fat bike ride to the beach. They had great route leads and made sure no one got dropped. They organized the routes, gave everyone store coupons and served lunch. These guys are the bees knees. The only problem that I have is that the only service I did with them were repairs to my ex's bike. They're reliable, unlike my ex. On the plus side, the repairs they did were so reasonable and well done, that I am not dreading the amount that I spent. And I'm also not receiving complaints. I am, however, receiving loads and loads of calls from my ex trying to get back together And probably something to do with. It is the great terror that they took with her trek bike. Probably not ever going to get back together with my ex. But I am definitely going to use this shop for any bike repair. If I am in the area again, the service was so great and the selection of the bikes amazing. It was so amazing that I wish I had bought another bike from them. For them but my trek verve three is so good I won't be buying a bike for a while. These guys are great, going to talk to them. I don't have exactly the same physique of lambs Armstrong, but they made me feel right at home, and we geeked out on some of the cool features of the new E bikes, coming out from both trek and Bosch. Took my bike in for some repairs that I caused because my first experience with a bike shop was unpleasant. Long story short went in for a new chain and derailer adjustment also with some tightening of some spokes this intern did not fix the issue I was having I took it right back and told the guys there what was the issue they hopped on the bike and they found that my cassette was shot. They brought it back and had one in stock put that sucker on and they say go for a test drive and long behold my bike is good as new! Last year when I bought a hybrid (Trek FX 3 Disc), I decided to get recommendations. I visited 3 other shops and when I came to Zion Cyclery, there was a huge difference. They have one of the best selections of all types of bikes, fat tires, road and everything in between, from Trek, Felt, Specialized and more more more. The people are the real difference. They care about your ride and your enjoyment and go way beyond in customer experience to give you the best ride and service. For me, I pass 4 other shops on the way to Zion, but this is the only shop we will go to now. This year I shopped for a Carbon Fiber road bike that could handle gravel trails. Zion spent hours helping decide between different bikes and finally I got the Trek Domane SL 6. I couldn't be happier. These folks are patient and have integrity and go the extra mile. I had done a ton of research and had some leftover questions. Through the purchasing process all questions were patiently and professionally answered. I had a really disappointing experience here. I was looking for a particular bike and was directed to this bike shop from that retailer's website. I saw on their website that they accepted online sales and was thrilled to see that they had the bike I was looking for in stock and in my size! As I know websites aren't always reflective of current inventory I called the store and spoke with an employee directly who confirmed they had not only one but three bikes in my size in stock. I asked if I could purchase one through their website and pick it up several days later as I was coming from out of state and was reassured that this would be no problem. So I went online and purchased it - completed the entire transaction and my credit card was charged in full. You can imagine my surprise and disappointment when I drove from out of state several days later to pick up my already-paid-for bike only to be told that they had oversold it and didn't have my bike for me and couldn't get another one in for months. The most horrifying details to me though were that they had already accepted my money and had it for days and no one had reviewed my purchase between that time and when I made the drive to pick it up. If they would have called me soon after I had bought it and informed me of their error they could have saved me hours of a drive and lots of frustration. To really top it off, when they informed me of their error, they made minimal efforts for any sort of consolation for all of my troubles. They assured me "they could definitely give me a refund" as if it was a nicety of them to return my money for a product they falsely sold me and couldn't deliver. Eventually after I prompted, asking if they could attempt something to make it right, they did tell me they could offer me a kickstand on a future bike (again a bike that wouldn't arrive for months) but unfortunately they lost all of my trust in buying any inventory that I couldn't physically lay my hands on. I would be very wary of purchasing anything from this vendor if you don't first see it with your own eyes! read more

Great shop with friendly help and service. I stopped in on my last night of camping at Illinois Beach State Park to pick-up a couple of bars for the ride back to Chicago in the morning (I like Scratch bars but, a few other options would be nice). Asked about the trails and alternate routes back and got some good local information and suggestions. They were super about filling my tires for the morning ride and let me "park" my bike near the back door of the store. The also recommended the Mexican restaurant two doors down for dinner. Go there. Once we selected a set they set up my bike to run multiple wheel sets without adjustments. They treat you like family, instantly gain your trust and don't disappoint. I took bike there a couple weeks ago for a $95. tuneup. While biking a 10 mile trail the peddle fell off and I had to push bike for an hour. I would not recommend tune's ups there unless you ride with several tools. They don't seem to take bike maintenance seriously read more

Great place to buy a bicycle and accessories. I have been going there for many years. I have always been treated fairly on repairs and sales of bikes/accessories. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Owners Don, Mary and Chris are great people. Grant is also very helpful.\ I bought one of the last true Schwinns from there in the late 90's, it is a very high quality bike, not like the new Chinese built Schwinns sold in department stores. I am partial to Schwinn as this was one of the first bikes I had as a kid, and the one that lasted the longest, quality stuff. A good local shop, lots of features, including bike repair, along with a very good assortment of accessories and bikes. Amazing shop. The owners are fantastic people and are extremely helpful, also every employee is very knowledgeable and are bike enthusiasts. I have purchased 2 bikes from them and have all of my bikes serviced through them, and i expect to continually give them my business. This shop is an hour from my home, but is by far the best shop available and is worth the drive. Great show room and selection, They are very understanding to new bikers as i once was, and do their best to explain and show you what is needed. Like the other positive reviews, I agree wholeheartedly that Zion Cyclery is an outstanding place to come for both shopping and service for bikes. I bought my Trek bike from Zion, and they also helped me pick out a nice headlight and lock for my bike after I'd had it for a few years. They also do all my service, and their mechanics keep my bike running smoothly. I've heard that some bike shops have a three-week wait time for service, but I've never yet had a long wait time when my bike is at Zion Cyclery for some fixing or a routine check-up or tune-up. They are super efficient. It's about 35 to 40 minutes away from my house, but I am always glad I went there. Love this place. Highly recommend! :) read more

My go-to local bike shop (LBS). This place has been here for as long as I can remember and I have always taken my bikes here for repairs. In all of that time, virtually nothing has changed; the selection for most styles of riding (BMX, Mountain, road, casual, etc.) is pretty good, the owners and the mechanics are super friendly and knowledgeable, and the prices are pretty reasonable. They have a remarkable inventory for the size of the shop and it has only gotten larger. The turn around on their repairs is very fast (often less than 2 days) and they stay in contact with you throughout the repair. They work on walmart bikes up to high end bikes. I have taken all of my good mountain bikes here and I have been very pleased. Keep up the great work guys. read more

The way bike shops were intended to be. Extremely helpful staff willing to help you find the exact fit and make for what you need, rather than push to "upsale" you into something you won't. The managers are awesome and the techs are great. Managers and techs alike are more than happy to invite you into the back where all the mechanical work is done. Rather than talk down to you about an issue they'd rather show you exactly what they're talking about so that everyone is on the same boat. I've bought 2 bikes here, more components than I can count, and only wish that these guys would bring their service and attitude to the worlds of home and automotive sale and repair. I've Gone to this shop for years and am extremely happy with the service and repair work (Kurt is an awesome bike mechanic). Right now I am in the process of buying a high end mountain bike which had to be ordered and when it came in I went out to ride it and it turned out to be too small for me which Kurt pointed out because he didn't want to sell me a bike that he felt was the wrong size. Outstanding service and a large selection of bikes and accessories. They are pricey but since it's been a long time since I bought a name brand bike, probably not out of line with other bike shops.
