I happened to have discovered it while walking along the sidewalk of Grandin Road near the Grandin Theatre. Some of the items in their display window entised me to go in and explore all of their consignment merchandise for sale. As soon as I went in exploring the beautiful items, a friendly young lady greeted and welcomed me. She explained how all the items in the store were left on consignment. Items can be consiged on Tuesday with no appointment necessary. Items are tagged with the date they go on sale and if they don't sell by a specified date customers can get 20% off or even up to 40% of the original price. I enjoyed just looking around at all the wonderful items and found a couple I liked so much to purchase and take home. One of them I even got 20% off because of the tagged date. It was a very interesting store that I had never seen one before. I highly recommend that if you're in the area, you stop and give it a visit. Who knows what you will find, and if you purchase something you will be supporting the local store and community members as well.

When one arrives at the Boutique, the entire storefront is large glass windows, with two glass doors that are all the way opened, welcoming and inviting you to walk in. As you walk in you pass by a rack with wheels of clothes on sale. Inside, an orange Volkswagen Beetle full of stickers, one of the icons of the Hippy era, has been raised and standing up decorates the store in a very unique way. The floor of the place is part hardwood floor and another part is covered with pennies with heads facing up and held there with some type of acrylic. The front of the cashier counter is also pieces of broken mirrors stuck together. Over part of the pieces of mirrors there is a colorful cloth with flowers all over it and the saying: "You make the world a better place just by being in it." The store is full of the items already mentioned above. A little bit of it all. Some of them make great gifts for people of all ages, especially the colorful clothing, hats, and jewelry. They now have a Hippy Salon that offers product-free dreadlock creation and maintenance, feathers, woolies, glass beads etc. Appointments are being required for this service. One late afternoon, as we drove along Apperson Drive in Salem, Virginia, in search of an antique or…read moregift shop, we ran into a very one of a kind and unique store named "Buy The Season: Home Decor for Every Season." Its large street sign attracted our attention, and even though it was late and almost closing time, my friend and I decided to stop and give it a look. It contained one of the largest selections of unique seasonal home decor and furniture of Roanoke Valley, with over 150 vendors. We parked and went inside, and I was impressed with how well everything was organized. The nice cool temperature of the place and the pleasant smell motivated one to walk around and explore all the items exhibited there. It was time to close, so I asked for a business card, and we decided to return next week and then have dinner in one of the many great restaurants in Salem. So, on the next week, we arrived early in the afternoon with enough time to explore the entire extremely large store space. There were some antiques in good or almost excellent condition, some Americana collections, some perfect antique, and Americana collections, some wonderful pieces of quality furniture including some Ethan Allen, some unique signs with sayings, jewelry, glassware, silverware, homemade greeting cards, books, and almost all you can think of. There is also a space with the Apperson Cafe with bread and some other bakery items made by the Amish. I was also able to talk with some of the vendors who were bringing new items to their space or cleaning the last items they brought and arranging them. They were wonderful individuals who really enjoyed finding the items and putting them for sale at very reasonable prices. The owner of the store also had items for sale there, and the salespeople treated us very kind as we asked them some questions. I would definitely recommend this store to those looking for gifts or items to decorate their own place.
