I buy from Plato's all the time, most of my clothes are from there and when I want to sell them back they take none of my clothes, they don't even actually look through the clothes I bring. They are all popular brands and they are all not cheap. But when I come and see the selection they have inside the stores it's WORSE SHIT hanging on there. How is it that my clothes are in style and nice and clean and y'all don't get them but when I buy from you it's the very thing that I got from the store. I brought in a few bags of clothes to sell to them and when I brought them in they just seemed all snobby and snotty towards me and didn't like the fact that I brought in clothes to sell. when I got home and looked though all the bags I got back they didn't even open three of the bags to look though, i noticed that some of my clothes that were clean were now dirty witch really upset me. I also got a text notification saying my buy was ready and when I got there it was still being "processed", it was also disgusting that they were eating over my clothes while looking though them. I don't recommend this platypus closet in the valley. I recommend you go to the one on the North side they have better customer service and actually look through your clothes. read more

I love the selection here, but one of the girls, who was wearing a dark purple hoodie, literally rolled her eyes at me when I asked for a fitting room. AWFUL!! I have never taken the time to write a review for anything, but today I am quite literally disgusted that this girl is in customer service. I walked in to one girl that greeted me with no smile and a monotone voice, no hello or anything. She looked at me and immediately told me I needed to remove all the dresses off of the hangers, I sat there for 3 minutes removing my clothing while she stared at me and watched me remove 7 dresses from hangers. My clothes were ready within 10 minutes and she proceeded to tell me they don't take dresses because they're "too formal". It's comical that instead of informing me they don't take formal dresses, she made me remove them all from hangers right in front of her. There was no thank you, no smile. The worst experience I have ever had with any customer service. I am baffled! Whoever is managing there needs to get their sh*t together. read more

I was here last weekend and I brought in a large bag of clothes some brand new, name brand, not out of date. They called me back super fast and didn't buy a single thing. Most of my items if not all were nicer then the horrible stuff they had on their racks. I went to a similar type store and made $50 on my clothes! Don't waste you're time here I promise there are better places to take your clothes with a cleaner store and nicer employees. read more

I couldnt believe how they treated their customers, it was completely unprofessional and I was shocked to even see someone talk to a stranger that way. I decided not to buy anything based simply off the attitude I saw those girls giving other costumers. I didn't wanna deal with them. They were really snappy at customers and I literally saw them refuse to help a women take her things out to her car when they don't even offer bags. Terrible service won't be going back. Most unfriendly business I have ever entered. Bitchy teens are rude and crass. No greetings... staff was playing on phones and gossiping when I walked in. Made it to the jeans section and was shocked by the way a young girl working here stomped over to me. I would have fired the staff for approaching my customers as aggressively as she did... In a very rude manner I was advised I couldn't be in the store with my tiny purse. As a grown woman I was accosted like a shop lifter for walking in with a micro backpack purse. Its a glorified thrift store ... Guess I can't spend money here if I can't even bring in my purse! I get the policy... but to have a girl hightail after me like a criminal instead of a client... for walking in? Never coming back! Horrible way 2 greet and treat customers!!! If I could leave zero stars I would are used to work at a Plato's closet in California and I guess training is just different in Spokane girls didn't even greet me at the door I walked up to the counter and dropped off my items was not told what to do at all she handed me a paper and asked if I've sold their before and obviously I said yes she told me the way it would be about an hour and called me 20 minutes later I brought in new cancan jeans new with tags PacSun items Patagonia and many other items but they were all at the bottom of a trash bag I went to go pick up my items I got $26 for six items one being a brand new jacket from cancan and looked through the trash bag and it wasn't even touched super disappointed I loved Plato's closet but will no longer be selling or buying from there. read more

I recently put a Free People dress on hold on Instagram. I was excited and went to the store to try it on and I noticed that there was a beige security tag on the dress but didn't think much of it at the time. I purchased the dress and when I got home I put the dress on to show my boyfriend and saw a hole where the security tag was located. I'm so bummed because security tags should not be put on clothing made of such thin material. I wish the cashier would have said something after seeing the fraying hole after taking off the security tag instead of sending me on my way. Very disappointed. read more

Zero stars. Everyone I go to this place they are nothing but rude. It's all uptight teenagers that think their sh*t don't stink. Brought In 4 bags of nothing but Nike, adidas, Eddie Bauer, and a ton more name brand. Wrangler jeans brand new. They took 2 things. They were "done going through it" in about 10 minutes. I'm not too convinced their lazy asses even looked through it all. Never going back. Horrible customer service. And tell me why they won't take my name brand clothing but I look through their racks and they have nothing but ugly garbage? Fed up and done. read more

They told us two hours to look at our clothes to buy we waited and they hadn't even looked at our stuff. They wasted our time and we're rude when we went in to sell the clothes on the first place. They treated my husband horribly and maybe if he was a women they would of treated him better but they definitely treated him like he didn't matter. Don't know if we'll go back. read more

Staff is in the slightest bit helpful. Almost more passive aggressive then anything. And the masks? Was I not informed that the pandemic had reached an end?? As far as I know; we still are in one. So that means masks should be properly worn. Over mouth and nose. These employees are not children. They are fully capable of wearing a mask. Their selection is ok, but perhaps I am a little too old to be shopping there. I brought in some nice clothes such as a Polo Ralph Lauren preppy-looking jacket, and some nice dress/casual shirts to sell one day, Abercrombie Jeans and I was surprised to hear them say they did not want any of them. After looking at their selection of men's clothing, I thought they could have benefited from having items like the ones I brought in. Like someone else reviewed, they claim to be "trendy", but I was not quite so sure. Maybe this speaks to the type of things that will sell in Spokane? I love Plato's closer to buy stuff but it's so frustrating when I bring things and they don't buy it yet they have similar items on the shelf. It's frustrating when you take the time to bring things in the find the exact items or items of the same quality in the shelf. I brought some to Hut 8, and got money for them. They have some nice things by prepare to spend some time there sifting through everything!!! They market themselves as "trendy" and up to date but maybe the staff should have to study magazines because i see so many hideous and incredibly untrendy items. I took my clothes in once, and i'm widely known to have current style, and they only took 2 things out of a bag full. Rather disappointing. Again, staff needs to study what the trends are. This place is a mess. They accepted ONE thing of mine that I brought in from an entire bag of nice, in-style clothing. That is strange, because they have so many faded, outdated, ugly things hanging on their racks. The store is confusing too, I couldn't figure out if clothing was organized by color, style, or size. If they really did just accept the best of the best, the store would be great. It is overpriced compared to some places, my favorite consignment store sells shirts for $4-$5, and here they are all at least $8. Found a few decent things, but it took me an hour. read more
