    Great selection!

Doing some landscaping and visited Platt Hill to buy a tree. Great variety, friendly staff and a good selection of gift items. Prices seemed competitive with other stores. I would recommend!

This isn't my usual plant nursery, but I decided to stop by and check out their tree selection and I'm so glad I did! Carlos went above and beyond with his tree knowledge and patience, helping me find the perfect gift for my grandpa this Father's Day. We left with the perfect tree and a great experience. Thank you, Carlos! I'll definitely be back because of you.

Great local nursery. This place had everything you need for landscaping, decorating outside and inside your home. Plenty of Covid-19 markings and reminders to wear your masks and keep 6' apart. Look for employees wearing yellow polo shirts. They are very kind and helpful. We came for: Bulk mulch. Great prices. Flower bed edge stones. Limestone for layering underneath the pacer stones. We are having the mulch delivered for a small delivery fee. Finally time to up the curb appeal. Father and son time, commence. Mama is going to be very happy when this is done.

Nice nursery with a good variety of perennials . It's a huge garden center with good quality plants ... I was in the area for a business meeting and could not resist stopping y to get some plants. Will certainly come back !

My go-to nursery. Platt Hill always has the best selection of indoor plants, shrubs, perennials, and annuals. They may not be cheap but their variety is fantastic. Occasionally you can find a great deal. They ordered a huge supply of thai constellation monsteras for me by request and I couldn't be happier. I had to wait a while but they are very great quality. I planted 8 proven winner hydrangeas from them and they are all thriving.

Platt Hill nursery planted dead Birch trees grown in their nursery and charged us $2000. No response from office for 18 months.

We purchased several large Birch trees from Platt Hill nursery hearing that they were reputable with excellent healthy products. As these trees were going to be a focal point in our front yard, we selected large trees that could fill in quickly. We also had Platt Hill experts install these trees to ensure healthy growth for years! we were told 2 of the larger Birch trees already lost their leafs BUT THEY WERE FINE AND STILL HEALTHY! We spent over $2,000 with Platt Hill on our trees. Well, I've contacted Platt Hill probably 6-7 that 2 of the largest trees are dying. It seems their leaves fell off early at Platt Hill Nursery because the trees were dying. I don't know why. We were ensured that these trees were excellent! After 18 months of contacting Platt Hill on our dead trees THEY planted and explaining over & over the dying trees plus sending loads of photos. I was given zero response! This is $2000 lost in our front yard. I should've burned the cash. The Platt Hill landscaper told me several times he forwarded this information to the owners but there was still no response. We own 1 acre local property which we are hiring landscapers, designers , a lot of new product everywhere! I will never buy another item from Platt Hill nor will I believe anything they say. Buyers be ware! Jill Mizen

Sometimes the items are great but at other times the plants die quickly. This nursery is very expensive and you might do better elsewhere.

The weather was pretty terrible, but we were greeted warmly and given directions to wander the farm, as the tree varieties were all mixed together. Perhaps it was a tough year for Christmas trees, but the selection was very limited and the trees themselves weren't all that impressive. Upon inspection, many of them (we were looking for Fraser Firs) had sparse patches and inner needles and branches that were browning. There wasn't a single Fraser (and we walked the entire property) without some measure of browning, so I went to an employee to ask about the health of the trees. He was rather short with me and assured me that some trees just grew with that coloring. I asked him specifically if we needed to worry about the trees drying out and losing needles prematurely, and he replied, "You're cutting down a fresh tree, of course that's not a problem." We took his word for it and purchased a Fraser. It was in water within the hour and we put it up that evening. The first indication of a problem was the lack of water intake - according to Grandpa's directions, fresh trees should be drinking lots of water in the first day or two. Our tree stand barely needed refilling after the first night. The second indicator was a complete lack of scent from the tree or branches; in fact, by the second day there was an almost unpleasant aroma coming from the inner branches. The kicker is that one week after cutting down this tree, it has lost maybe 1/4 of its needles - we have branches that are ENTIRELY bare and we vacuum canisters full of needles each day. Aside from the terrible quality of the tree, I'm disheartened and angry that I was lied to and tricked into buying a half-dead tree. At this point it would have been more convenient and neater to set my $60 on fire. We will never return to this farm and have warned away everyone we know that was looking to cut down a fresh tree this year. Grandpa's should be ashamed of their dishonesty and terrible product.

I'm 61 years old and I've NEVER had such a horrible tree. It hasn't soaked up much water at all and it's losing so many needles that it will be bare by Christmas. It's only been in the house for a week! Every time I brush against it, they fall and fall. Our daughter and her family came with us to cut their tree and they're having the same problem. There weren't too many nice trees, and many of them were brown inside. My daughter asked about that and was told "oh, don't worry about that, they just grow that way sometimes." We chose Grandpa's because they charged a fair price, but we could have paid $1 for this tree and it would have been too much. And, to top if off, this tree smells bad. I don't mean that it just doesn't smell good - it smells bad. So disappointed. We are probably going to take it down and get another one.

*PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE DAVE IS AN ACTUAL CREEP!*…read more Our neighbors and our family had started a tradition 4 years ago to take our families here to do the hay ride and purchase pumpkins and other things from Dave's pumpkin farm. We all got pumpkins, bales of hay, straw brooms and the like. Dave has no cashier and relies on an app to pay for purchases. This night his app was not working and we told him this. We kept trying. As we left, and still trying to get on the app. We got home and started unloading. And still trying to get on the app. It was night time and a truck pulls up across the street from me and sat there. I could not see into the truck and did not know who it was. I screamed out to the driver and said, who are you are you ok? I decided to call the police because I thought maybe it was somebody drunk and pulled over or he had car problems. Well, once the police arrived we found out it was Dave! He followed us home! He said we stole 300 pumpkins, which we only had about 15-20. The police told us he has a history of doing this, following people home that he feels did not pay enough. Now I have 2 little ones with me, 6 and 7. He is telling the police he wants us arrested! The police came back over to us and said "listen this guy is weird and off his rocker, have you got the app working yet"? It was not. My wife said listen... we can Zelle him for the pumpkins since the app is not working. The police said" we doubt he has Zelle, right now he is just rambling on that he wants you guys arrested but that is not going to happen because we believe you guys". The police officer said he has a Square on his phone where it can be paid through that device. So my wife walked over with the officer to Dave's truck. The total we knew was $126. Dave said just pay $119 because he could not figure out the taxes. According to the police, Dave has a history of doing this! He ruined our tradition and our kids are upset that this happened. The whole ordeal was about 2 hours long and our night was ruined! Now our whole tradition is ruined because we will not go back there where a stalker could just show up to your house! *STAY AWAY PLEASE BECAUSE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO OTHERS BEFORE AND WILL PROBABLY HAPPEN AGAIN!*

We were given a $400 gift card to countryside from my mother in law for our wedding. It was an old gift card--from 2013--that my mother in law never used. When we went to use it we were told that they couldn't find the gift card in their system and that the lady who handles the gift cards was off that day. We left them with our number and were told that they would call us back with an answer on what's going on with the gift card when the lady who handles the gift cards is working. Fast forward a couple of days. They never called us to let us know about the gift card, so my wife called them. The girl who answered the phone was rude and not helpful. She said that she knows nothing about that at all and can't do anything about it. She forwarded my wife's call to the garden department and it went to voicemail where my wife left a message. 2 days later my wife called again and the same thing happened. At this point I called them and spoke with the rude girl and gave her my name and number and she told me that the woman who handles the gift cards would be in the next day and would call me back. The woman who handles the gift cards did in fact call me back the next day. She was able to find the transaction for the purchase of the gift card in 2013 and the gift card was not listed in their system as expired. She told me that she would need to talk to the owners of countryside to see what they want to do about it and that she would call me back to let me know what's going on. This was a month ago and still nothing. No answer. We are very disappointed in how unprofessionally our issue has been handled. Both sides of our family have been shopping at Countryside for many years, hence the gift card from 2013.
