Birds chirping & wild deer & turkeys gobbling make this a calm & relaxing space! Some permanent & traveling workers here too. They have showers & a laundry but we weren't in need of any. The managers, Jason & his wife were super friendly & said if you need anything don't hesitate to let them know. 50amp full hookups & a creek is near by. Jason actually came by & took my hubby to check out the fishing hole in his golf cart. Only 22miles to Casper Wyoming where if you need anything they have it! We are here for three nights & it's been very relaxing!! Would stop here again if we come by this way again!!

It really has that trailer park feel. Mostly long term residents. I recommend trying to get a spot at one of the two ends. They are more grassy and have trees and mostly traveling RVs. We ended up in the middle of the park. No trees, surrounded by long term residents and a muddy mess. My biggest issue though is loose dogs. Not only did we see dogs running around loose, they also left several large craps right in front of our door. Which then brought out all the flies. Ok for an overnight stop, but I wouldn't hang out here.

The entrance off Birch Street takes you under a railroad trestle and as you enter the park, the first thing you'll notice is the number of trees. Had I not seen the picnic tables, baseball field, tennis courts, the playground equipment, and what looked like a skate park, once I passed under that trestle, I'd have thought I was in a mini forest. I was really impressed with this nice, well-kept park. As a bonus, there's an easy walking path nearby -- that's a little over two miles long -- and is a good way to enjoy nature or do something with the family after you've had your picnic. Glenrock Town Park is near an RV Campground -- I didn't notice that until I got to the back of the park -- but for anyone camping there, they have a buffer from the noise. Not only because of the trees, but because this park is only open from sunrise to ten at night.

It forms part of the Reservation set up in July 3, 1868, under the leadership of Chief Washakie of the Eastern Shoshone (Sheep Eater) Indians. The Wind River actually runs north through this gorge (unusual in America) and joins the Bighorn (of George Armstrong Custer fame) at Thermopolis. So much for the facts. This chasm is so deep, that the sun starts to set before you even get used to it rising. The rapids twist and turn so often, that within minutes you are lost in another world. The walls are so high, that halfway down you start thinking about earthquakes and rock slides and the bars that have vanished from your cellphone. It is a thrilling, intimidating, exhilarating, spiritual ride, and the biggest adrenalin rush you will ever feel at 30kph. And then you arrive at the Boysen Reservoir, a vast, windswept, desert lake in the middle of nowhere - as open and expansive a place as the canyon was closed and urgent. It all makes for a very strange experience, and a reminder of how much more there is to Wyoming than first met your eye.

The tour guide was dressed in regular clothing and there was no information given about the Oregon Trail. I was thinking maybe our trail guide is not a regular guide. It seemed like the owner just wanted the money and grabbed a person to steer the wagon. He also was hard of hearing (nothing wrong with that), but it meant when my kids asked questions he could not hear. So it was like a two hour silent ride. I would say skip this if you are in Casper. Do the free museum in town instead.

He was so accomodating, and made our group of 8 adults feel like we really experienced traveling on the Oregon Trail. He and David took us on an amazing wagon train ride, and with all of his knowledge and great stories we could visualize life on the trail back then. After the ride was over, we had a delicious meal that Chef Dave cooked right in front off us, complete with dutch oven peach cobbler. This was an experience that none of us will forget!
