We used the pool several times per week and the water is crystal clear and clean, and the lifeguard staff take safety as their number one priority. They are friendly with the children and supportive of the members. However, I have never felt so unwelcome in an athletic environment in my entire life. I have been competing in the pool for 44 years including an NCAA collegiate career and more recently as an elite age-group/Masters triathlete since the year 2000. Now, I am recently recovering from cancer and have set lofty ambitions for the Ironman World Championship! The YMCA published lap pool schedule was wrong with zero lanes available on Tuesday nights at 6:00 PM (typically, a busy time at most pools after work) and the stated 3-lanes was down to only 2 lanes other nights at 6 because water aerobics participants would book lanes in the lap area for their workouts. I appreciate the efforts of ALL athletes of ALL abilities willing to commit to their health goals; but in my case, my goals were de-prioritized. We were asked to leave when I lost my temper and yelled when the lap lane was roped off for the umpteenth time this past summer. I know my behavior is inexcusable and I am sorry that I got so angry (and in front of my own children), but it also is unacceptable not to abide by the published schedule. If you are a recreational athlete, or just using the Y for basic health goals, then you will LOVE this place, but if you are serious about your training, then you will be treated as an outsider.

We wanted to then have an extended weekend and figured we might explore fishing or something else. We found Kyle and the Fin & Feathers Club through Yelp. We coordinated two days of fishing on the Bighorn River (also called the Wind River upstream of Thermopolis) and we had blast. Kyle brings everything you need for fishing - boat, poles, bait / flies, etc. - and also brings food and drinks. The elk shish-ka-bobs were awesome! We have fished for trout before but not fly fished. Kyle showed us how to cast as we floated, and showed us how to work as a pair - the front of the boat casting first. We were blessed with both beautiful weather and a strong afternoon storm - we were safe and sound and enjoyed getting a little wet. The fish... oh-h-h-h the fish... we caught and released several and we kept two and they were GOOD eating. Kyle is a fantastic person and guide - you'll be glad you fish, and/or hunt, with him. Smaller pistol selection than SW, but most of the hunting rifles are where you can easily try them out for fit. Reloading components are slightly higher than SW, but tend to have more in stock in what I need. (Bullseye, Red Dot, W209 and Large Pistol primers) FFL transfer fee is $30 per gun. Not the cheapest, but not highway robbery. The plus side, is if you are like me and work an unpredictable schedule, they will hold what has been shipped to you until you get back.. Other places in town will only hold for 14 days, which sucks if you work in the oil field, and your gun came in the day you left town for a month. They also did not gouge prices post Newtown, which gets them a 4 to 5 star upgrade in my book.

But this place still irks me at the lack of quality of the rooms. It doesn't appear they have been play tested. We did both High Voltage and Level Up. Level Up was first and at one point I was standing in the middle of the room and said "I don't even know what to do." I tried the Tetris puzzle, which should be pretty self-explanatory but even after it was explained how you should see the numbers it was a stretch. Mind you, finding patterns is my strength. Another puzzle had the wrong numbers in the wrong order for the lock. It was helpful my boyfriend is a big video game nerd and carried us to victory. But even that being said, we were specifically told we didn't need to unlock all the boxes yet some of the answers to puzzles were locked in other boxes. The whole concept of the room sounded great but it just didn't play well. Immediately after, we went to High Voltage. Again, great concept but not play tested. To have the same exact puzzle in the same binder (looking for muscles/bones, etc on a wall poster) for two different locks is lame. And yet again one of those locks was wrong. The ethmoid bone was the one we were supposed to search yet it was crossed out on two of the posters. (I have taken 2 years of anatomy and physiology and specialized in head and neck anatomy so that was very helpful in this room). The colored bottles were a nightmare. I was a bit confused because I wasn't sure if we were to use the numbers or letters (and the font was very difficult to read). So I asked for help and the game master (as lovely as she was) told me I was doing it wrong when in fact, I *was* doing it right. The Morse code was ridiculously fast and almost impossible to distinguish when one stopped and the next started. We have done approximately 100 escape rooms, this is hands down the worst.

The prices are very reasonable especially since you can attend the class that my child is in up to 5 days a week. I would recommend this facility if you are looking for a place that is reasonably priced, great front staff, awesome and patient instructor, and just an overall positive experience at this point.
