I have used this station since 1991 and when I would get off the train that old stain was claustrophobic with legal graffiti on the walls by schools and artists. 1996 finally funded and now a wonderful open air station. The underpass needs work with paint and additional cleaning. Walking from the 1 train to the iconic Lincoln center is a great experience.

The station's easy to use with a in-station transfer crossunder and having ADA-compliant accessibility. As one of the 28 stations in the original 1904 IRT lines, decades before the Lincoln Center was built and it was only just the 66th St. Station in the San Juan Hill section of town, you'll find the original ceramic trim maintained along the top of the platform walls. Enjoy this station's colored glass mosaic murals which decorate the walls with dramatic characters appearing to perform for passengers, including an often repeated diva in a golden hooded full length robe, which captures the light - as it should for a diva! They are what I normally catch through my train window as my Express train speeds by. In 1999, giving a nod to the Lincoln Center's dedication to the performing arts, MTA installed artist and activist Nancy Spero's "Artemis, Actobats, Divas and Dancers." This work immortalizes the period musicians, actors, dancers, acrobats, and other classic performers doing what they do best - put on a show! Better to check out close up when you're at this stop!

It is also possible to purchase tickets on-line. The train was very prompt and on schedule. The ride was quiet. The windows could have been cleaned so the we could enjoy looking outside. The inside of the train cars were very clean. My one big complaint is that when we arrived at the Carle Place station from Penn Station, the door opened for just a few seconds and we couldn't get off the train. We had to ride to the next station and walk 25 minutes to our destination. It was late at night. Luckily it was a safe neighborhood. I don't know if we were supposed to do something to get the door to open. There were no officials in our train car to ask.

The Trans World Airline (TWA) Flight Center was designed by architect Eero Saarinen and it was…read moredescribed as being similar to a "Leonardo da Vinci flying machine". It was completed in 1962 and open for business. The original head house (aka: terminal building), operated as a functioning terminal until 2001. The exterior of the building, along with the interior, of the head house were declared landmarks in 1994. Moreover, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. Today it is part of the TWA hotel complex, but anyone can visit the flight center, lounges, gift shop, food court, and museum area. In addition to the original building, it has been partially surrounded by additional hotel buildings. Inside, the former terminal has been restored to its former glory. You can see the open three-level tall windows with amazing views of departing and arriving jets in the sunken lounge area. There are the tube-shaped, red-carpeted departure/arrival corridors that now lead to rooms in the hotel, but used to connect the gates. Now various places in the head house and flight center are museum-type displays for the former airline. It is a very interesting place for anyone to check out the displays and read about the history of TWA. Moreover, there are additional items to check out like the old cars and the huge Twister game. Whether you stay at the hotel or just need a few hours to kill on your layover...this is "something to do". Personal Note: I thoroughly enjoyed seeing everything in the flight center. It brought back so many wonderful memories. When I was a little girl, my family and I used to look forward to flying in and out of here back when my dad worked for the airlines. We loved this airport and mainly because of this terminal...it was fun and different. With the way they have restored it, it almost seems like I entered a time machine to another time. I am forever grateful they gave this building a new life. I hope other families make new memories and remember the old ones as I did. It's a very special place and there is nothing like it!

This is probably the most remarkable building in the state of NewYork. Repurposed from the old TWA…read moreterminal, this TWA Hotel Lobby was designed by Eero Saarinen. Inspired by the Sydney Opera House, Eero created this terminal to resemble a bird in flight. The photos says it all, but come here and experience the space for yourself. There is peripheral perception of space that you do not get from photographs. There is an air train that loops around all of the Terminals at JFK airport. Get off where it says TWA hotel and walk to the lobby or take Uber or Lyft and be dropped off at the front door.

The Q61 Bus has been the new replacement of the old and discontinued Q34 route. Q34 used to run…read moremore often than Q61 except you won't see Q34 running during the weekends. The good thing about Q61 is that it runs 24/7 on both the weekdays and weekends now. Too bad that the Q61 doesn't arrive as frequently as it should have on the weekends though. Give it about 15-20 minutes before each bus starts to come on the weekends. Sometimes, it'll say there're 5 mins left before Q61 would arrive on transit apps. And then when you refresh the apps, the time remaining will be another 10 mins before it would actually arrive at the bus stop. Basically, be prepared for all the delays + traffic jams + and ongoing rerouting and construction repairs. The longest time I have ever waited for the Q61 was 40 minutes without one bus even coming on the weekdays. Everyone around me grew restless and impatient as the minutes went by. Also sometimes on the Q61, there were days when the OMNY machines cannot read my OMNY card ("Tap Again" keeps coming up) even though I had already added enough money the day before. Therefore, I would give Q61 Bus 3.7/5 for its service.

This Central Park North (110th St.) Subway Station is serviced by 2 and 3 trains which go between…read moreBrooklyn and respectively The Bronx and Uptown. During the daytime, both trains run Express between this station. Located where Lenox Avenue, a.k.a. Malcolm X Boulevard and the diagonal St. Nicholas Avenue begin heading North, it's also across from a Central Park entrance at Harlem Meer, also an access point for the adjacent North Woods, Conservatory Garden, plus the new Davis Center providing a pool, ice rink, or Harlem Oval public green depending upon the season. As one of the original subway stations, it opened in 1904, however tile mosaics by Maren Hassinger entitled "Message form Malcolm" were installed in 1998. Only above the Central Park North entrance and at the South (downtown) half of the platform, they include Malcolm X's quotes. Safety at the North (uptown) half of the platform has relativeley recently improved since the bench was removed to eliminate seating for junkies to just hang out. That being said, you may want to keep to the platform between the two exits, through pre-boarding, etc. Given this stations provide the closest subway access to those Central Park features mentioned, it could benefit from MTA installing an elevator! People who cannot easily navigate the stairs, such as with strollers, carriages, or wheelchairs cannot easily use this subway station! MTA make the Central Park North Subway Station accessible to everyone!

First, as a first-time user, I felt it was easy to navigate and I felt safe and comfortable traveling around the city. Second, it is gritty, worn, and a bit rundown in appearance and upkeep. It works, but I felt like I needed to be careful touching anything. The smells (urine, weed, unwashed masses) can be off-putting at times during busier times, but I wasn't too shocked. I felt the cost with regards to time and money was a great value to get to where we wanted to go. I wouldn't hesitate to use it again.

Ah, the NYC subway...a love/hate relationship for me. I love the possibility of 24/7 availability…read moreuntil the next delay, detour or shut down of service due to flooding, track fires, etc... The people watching and collective gripes about service (or lack of service) is unparalleled and at least unites a population of weary commuters in collective complaining during these divisive times.
