The moment I walked in and saw the equipment they had to offer, I knew I was home. They have everything you need to take a true holistic approach to fitness. The moment I walked in I was greeted by the welcoming staff and shown around. Unlike most places I've been around here where the front desk employee kinda looks at you weird like they're wondering why you're bothering them with your presence. All in all, Jack City is an uplifting environment with a welcoming community and unparalleled fitness resources that makes me miss it and wish I had a place like this to train at when I'm gone. We paid lots of money and by the time we realized what this club was about, it was too late to get out of it. Our team parents offered better feedback and coaching than the actual coaches. Very sad. The owner would sit on the sidelines at tournaments and be on her phone instead of watching the teams play and being fully present. It was very disrespectful. Canned responses were given by coaches when the players asked for feedback. When you pay as much as club costs, the basic expectation is that your child will improve their skills and learn. They will be coached and be more successful on the court. I guess for our first year in club, even though our expectations were so basic - we had a bar that was too high and Rise couldn't meet it. In fact, I don't think Rise was even on the court. I would never recommend Rise Volleyball Club unless you want to waste your child's time, your time, and your money.

The YMCA in West Boise offers a great experience for any newcomer to the gym or long time veterans who are just coming in to work out.

The problem is, we called ahead to get information since we'd never been before & at the front desk reiterated we had never been so wanted to make sure we were good to go info. However, the staff at the front desk was unpleasant and offered almost no information. You must have your ID with you which we had to go 20 minutes back for and was not told that on the phone. We brought 4 kids, two that can swim and two that can't yet so we borrowed life jackets and they swam for almost an hour in the non kiddie pool only to be told you can't be in here even with a life jacket so they kicked them out into the kiddie pool. Then they kept asking for necklaces which we didn't know what that meant and finally a lifeguard said they tell us if they can swim or not. This was an hour in style that point and they'd been swimming without them. The signage to the pools is atrocious and unclear. The bathrooms were dirty as were multiple spots in the pool. I even asked about memberships for the future, & the front desk person said "oh idk you'll need to call the manager" and walked away. I'm glad it was only $4 because it was a very stressful experience and next time we want to take the kids swimming, I think we will find somewhere else.

My youngest joined an adult women's indoor team months ago and we have been coming here to watch her games. While parking can be limited based on how busy game play is there is always treat parking or across the street at businesses that aren't open at night. Inside the facility is always clean as well as the bathrooms. The games are always on time and run very efficiently. The officiating can alway use a little work but for the most part has been great. You out all those things together for a great experience. Plus the staff is always friendly when you enter the facility. This is a great indoor facility that is well run and gives the players and fans a great place to be.

Here are a few…read moreof my observations since becoming a Villa Sport location: 1. cleanliness - the men's bathroom is disgusting. Old stains under urinals, dirty counters. floors seldom mopped. I can see same dirty spots for weeks without being touched. 2. Treadmill - I used to see staff wiping off treadmills. I no longer see this. The TV screens are frozen on many channels or not working. 3. Lifting machines- I never see any staff wiping them off. When this was Axiom they would be constantly cleaning them. I could go on and on. Overall a major decline in general cleanliness and maintenance. I have pointed out issues to front desk and staff but they don't appear to be interested. I continue to be a member because it's close by. I worry about flu and COVID anytime I touch anything here.
