Drove 45 minutes to sell these jokers a piece of equipment. Called ahead to make sure they'd take it. They said they would. I was about to spend $200-300 on other stuff after the trade in. I always check Play it Again Sports in every town I am in. They have a vast array of used sporting equipment. You know the stuff that is in your garage or attic you are not using. I always check for Surf Boards and Tennis racquet's. They have an ample supply of Weight Lifting equipment, Baseball, Hockey, and Golf. Used tennis balls are good for fetch with your dog. At a fraction of the price you can own used not new. Like a Big Bertha, list $360.00 used $100.00. only it was left handed. read more

I have only been to this place once. However, I went in looking for a golf driver. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I am new to the whole golfing thing so not having much knowledge going into places like this can somewhat be intimidating. However, like I said the staff is great. I went in found a driver I liked, bought it and left. The purchase was quick and easy and I love the driver that I have for a reasonable price. If I could make one recommendation, I would say find a better alternative to the stickers on the golf clubs. When you purchase a club it comes with a sticker on the shaft with the price which is horrendous to get off because of how sticky it is. I would say it took me a good 15-20 minutes to get the goo from the sticker off the shaft of my club. Other than that, great place to go! read more

Great customer service! My wife and I went to check out some treadmills at the Durham location. They didn't have a huge variety of treadmills, but we still found what we were looking for. There was also TONS of ellipticals, so if that's your sort of thing, there was a lot to choose from! The store was packed with all kinds of sports equipment as you would expect. It was a little hard to move around with a baby strapped to you, but we couldn't complain as there was a huge selection of just about everything. We were helped by Arman, who was great. He was very knowledgable about the equipment, and was happy to plug in the treadmills so we could try them out. The customer service here was a lot better than other sporting good stores, and they even price matched Amazon prices. We ended up purchasing one of the treadmills, and opted for delivery and assembly. They were able to schedule us for the next day as well. UPDATE: Although they were a little late, they called ahead of time to make sure we were aware of the delay. It was well worth the $125 it costs for delivery and assembly as they had to bring the treadmill up to my 3rd floor. They were done in about 40 minutes and made sure I was happy before they left. I went to this store today to sell ladies golf clubs. I had purchased these clubs at Hillandale pro shop several years ago but they were still in good condition, even had the matching golf bag which was like new condition. I paid over $400. for the clubs alone and the bag was a separate purchase. In all about $500. worth of merchandise. This place offered me $9.00 for all of it!! I told them I would take them to the dump before I would sell for that. One of the salesmen was so busy eating he didn't even speak to me until I spoke first and there were 2 other salesmen that just stood behind the counter and didn't speak at all. I SAY THEY TRIED TO CHEAT ME AND I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN THAT STORE AGAIN. I went to a pawn shop and did a lot better than I would have there!!!! read more

You can buy, sell or trade your equipment here, how cool is that! All the equipment is barely used in great condition and awesome discounted prices. You've got golf clubs, lacrosse, racquet ball gear, frisbees, weights, cycles, baseball gear, tennis racquets and punching bags, just to name a few. I tend of come across used sporting equipment a lot. Sometimes it's just by accident, but I have been known to snag old stuff from friends of mine who are just going to throw it away. I bring it here. The 'buyback' program at Play It Again is exceptionally good... They take most anything sports related that you've got and give you something back for it. Woot. I'm not sure if this would be the first place I'd come for buying new stuff, though. With some of the crap I've sold them over the years, I question the quality of the merchandise. In fairness to them, though, I don't know the kind of repair or sorting programs they have for the used gear they collect. read more

Amazing customer service! I purchased a used Pro Form treadmill a few months ago, and was very happy with it. Eventually the belt became very loose and went off track and needed to be replaced. This was probably due to the previous owner(s) never lubricating or adjusting the belt properly, and the age of the machine. I was able to purchase a replacement belt on Amazon. The Play It Again store manager Andy arranged a convenient time to come to my house and replace the belt for me. He worked diligently and carefully to replace the belt, and then tested it several times to make sure it was working properly. He showed me how to tighten the belt, lubricate it, and center it so I know how to care for it going forward. Thanks to his patience and demonstration of what to do, I feel confident I can properly care for the new belt, which will increase its lifespan! I can't say enough good things about the customer service at Play It Again Sports at New Hope Commons. I have told all my friends and family to purchase equipment there in the future and I will do the same. read more

This Play It Again is at kind of the New Hope Commons extension with Red Robin, Carrabba's and the Verizon Store. Although the intersection at the entrance is an absolute nightmare, Play It Again is a pretty cool store. Although you probably won't get "steals" here, you can at least pay a lot less than you would for something new, like $35 for my baseball bat the other day. The stuff is laid out by sport, pretty easy to find everything. You can also bring your things in and sell them to Play It Again if it is in good condition. They don't give you top dollar by any means, but at least you can get money for old bikes, golf clubs, balls, etc. The staff is okay except for one guy that kind of bugs me, but browsing on your own is easy enough. Go here before you go to Dick's and save a pile! read more

I've never understood the concept of a used sports store, but I was looking for some old soccer equipment so my intramural team could practice. Play It Again seemed to have a ton of hiking/camping equipment, but not so much in the way of everyday sports. What they did have was a little too worn down, and not that much cheaper than it would be for me to just buy it all brand new. If you're on a tight budget, you might be able to rummage through here and find something that's worth buying, but I unfortunately did not have that much luck. read more

I found the prices here just about equal to buying new, especially on equipment. The sales staff was the worst. There were seven customers in the store, four clerks, and no one spoke to me for the fifteen minutes I was in the store. I was not acknowledged at all. I hate to think it was because I'm a woman, but it did look as though all of the men in the store were getting plenty of attention. From my experience, all customers are not valued at this store. Manager, Chris Jones, has provided the best customer service imaginable! The men who deilivered my exercise equipment were efficient, polite, and thorough. When one used item did not work as well at home as it did in the store, they replaced it. I'll go back if I decide to get more. read more
