My child was left behind. I arrived to Primrose school to…read moredo my normal pick up of my three kiddos. Prior to getting them from their classroom I was asked to step into the office. I sat down to be told that my children had struggled all day and had bitten friends in the class. I then received a letter that was slid across the desk stating my child was terminated immediately as they have to put other families into consideration. My two year daughter has struggled in the classroom with biting, hitting, pushing, and pulling hair. The main concern has been the biting. In the hand book it states that "biting is-natural developmental stage for children ages 12 months to 3 years." Well this stage was new for me. My oldest never went through this "stage" so this was very new to us. When I was first approached about her biting I was open and worked with the teachers to navigate through this "stage". She loves reading.. I bought books about biting and hitting for at home and school and read them daily. I bought teethers. We sent her to school with a stuff animal to squeeze in frustration.. I had daily conversations about biting and talked about the feelings she was having. I agreed to giving her a binky in moments of frustration even though I expressed that she was only using it at night and I was concerned that it wasn't addressing her frustration.. it was just masking it with a pacifier. There were teachers that agreed with me about the pacifier but leadership continued to push the use of the pacifier. (This has been recommended not only for my child but others) This turned into her having the binky in her mouth all day and lead to her hitting in moments of frustration instead. I asked that they limit the use of a pacifier as it was creating more of a problem. I expressed to the school I felt like she was lacking support in the classroom and that these are not behaviors she displays at home with younger and older siblings or cousins. I expressed that these were behaviors that she picked up on from other children in the classroom. I expressed my concerns that I had with a teacher in the classroom. I expressed that there is something in the classroom that is triggering this behavior not only for my daughter but the other children. They agreed that there are several others in the class struggling with the same behaviors. They then offered to have Guide Stone come in and observe her in the classroom so they could create a plan to better support my daughter with giving the teachers guidance and training recommendations. I agreed. The documented observations stated many moments of my daughter needing redirection and support which was not given in many moments of the visits. Guide stone did not agree with the pacifier use as it stops her from communicating. A couple of visits went by and not one time was a bite documented while observing. Many of the moments that she struggle was handwashing.. she is at the sink washing hands and playing in the water. A child waiting wants to be included at the sink. It now turns into pushing and frustration yet there is no teacher in this moment assisting in this transition. The teachers are focused on going into the next activity. In the mix of this there has been a high turn over rate. My daughter has come home with bite marks and hair pulled and she talks about interactions with other kids. Now I know these things happen and I absolutely don't want my child hurting someone else just as I don't want her to get hurt. I have had conversations with other parents and we are all just trying to get through it because it is frustrating as it's been ongoing in the classroom. I was never informed leading up to this point that if these behaviors continued she would be terminated. I honestly thought with the new teacher in the classroom and guide-stone in the classroom that we were finally going to be working as a team and we were going to make progress. I thought the feedback/ suggestions that were given to the teachers from Guide-stone were great.. now the teachers just needed to apply it to the everyday. After a week of being pacifier free and 1 observation with the new teacher my child was turned away by this school. I exited that school feeling let down, humiliated as I carried trash bags of my kids belongings, and sad for my children as they have built relationships with other kids and teachers that they would no longer see yet be able to say goodbye. I was completely blind sided by this plan or where this was heading. Less than 24hrs to find child care for the next day for two full time working parents trying to support their family. It was the lack of support and training for the teachers. At the end of every observation the comments and suggestions prove that. This entire process was a paper trail to terminate my family.

DO NOT ENROLL YOUR TODDLERS AT THIS SCHOOL UNLESS YOU WANT ENDLESS INCIDENTS…read more Over the course of 2 weeks, my son was bit a total of 5 times. Both the teacher and the director told me that one of the children (who bit him 2 of the 5 times) was a problem student and had prior violations against him with multiple other students. I am confused as to why this child was still kept in a classroom with other students when he has shown aggression many times. One time, when I dropped my son off in class, he was chasing around a little girl with scissors and no punishment was done from the teachers end, other than taking them away, eventually. The bites were bad enough to leave bruises on my son for over a week and could see every single tooth mark from the bite. There was also an incident that he was bit twice in one day, but they only said he was bit once. So where were they when the first bite happened? I had multiple discussions and even a meeting with the director, assistant director and teacher to express my concerns about his safety prior to withdrawing him last week. They acted like they were on my side, but continued to allow it to happen time and time again. They failed to complete incident reports until I had to ask for one to be done each time. I also asked that they communicated with me when these issues arise so I can be aware. However, I wasn't even notified until I picked him up every single time, even though the incident(s) happened within the first hour of dropping him off for the day.

I had heard about the concerns and issues from when the previous director and staff was here. But…read moresince sept 2024, there is a new director who has worked tirelessly to get the school/day care up to a wonderful environment along with hiring a whole new staff that is caring. I have two children who attend and my experience has been excellent. The school offers many extras like "fit buddies" which is a yoga class, paints and pianos class and natural outdoor play areas. There is a daily core curriculum that is followed and a digital app that the teachers record all the days activities that may include pictures.

She had a tough start, but the teachers were patient and kind and helped her adjust. It wasn't very long before she would light up when she saw them. It was my first experience with daycare as well and everyone was very supportive, answering any questions I had, making recommendations for my daughter based on what they had seen and their experience; it really helped to calm my anxiety. I have always felt that she is safe and well cared for there. She has grown immensely in her time there and I truly believe it is because of the effort of the teachers. We get weekly lesson plans and daily updates of what they're doing and how it contributes to her growth. We had our first parent teacher conference and the teacher showed up prepared with observations and opportunities for my daughter. You can tell they care about the kids and their growth. I really feel as though the teachers are a part of my team and I don't think my daughter would have grown as much as she has without them. I would recommend Tutor Time to anyone who is looking for a safe, fun, welcoming environment for their child.

MEEC is truly amazing…read more When we realized our son had a speech delay, he was 2 1/2 years old and hadn't began to talk. We didn't know what to do or how to help him. Then a friend recommended MEEC, and we cannot thank the preschool teachers, Speech Therapists or adminstration enough. Every staff member is caring, professional and incredibly patient with the students and parents. Now our son is in third grade and he is thriving in school and social situations. He is now on track to not need Speech Therapy very soon. We also sent our daughter to MEEC for preschool and she didn't have any speech or socializing issues and we are so happy and lucky MEEC provided an excellent preschool experience. My family cannot recommend MEEC enough.

When our home district shut down and placed my two special needs preschoolers on a remote learning screen I knew they needed more. MEEC welcomed them in with open arms and they have blossomed in just these last two months. I only wish I had found them sooner. The early intervention in this critical time period for preschoolers is second to none. The dedication and love of this staff in a period of turbulence in our world with the COVID situation is truly remarkable. I cannot think of a better place for parents to send their children. I cannot possibly put into words what they have done for our children and our family. I can't wait to see what the next months bring. Julie P.
