I couldn't actually tell you if the food is good or not because they never served me. I placed a pickup order through grubhub for this location. I arrived five minutes after it was supposed to be ready. When I got there I didn't see any customers, just two young ladies behind the counter. I told them the name for my order, they locate the receipt and say they'll get started on it, meaning they were sitting on the order and had made zero effort to have it ready on my arrival. I was in a rush so I had to cancel it. I'm very disappointed as I was excited to find this place so close to my house. read more

Found a healthy gem in Elizabeth,NJ. The menu has a vast array of options. I truly enjoyed what I selected. The ingredients were very fresh and delicious! Decor was modern and gave a Hawaiian/south East Asian vibe. Staff was professional and friendly. The main thing that should be worked on is the queue system, a lot of customers were waiting for their order about for 20-30 minutes. Was literally craving at 8:20 pm and glad delivery was still possible. I am cutting a lot of sugar from my diet but after a month, I felt I deserved a break. I ordered the Nutelloco- Coconut Bowl* (Coconut Bowls*) with Extra Granola and extra Strawberry. Playa bowls is hands down the most fresh, delactable bowl that I ever tried. Staff was extremely rude and it took 15 minutes for a simple dragonberry and coco berry bowl to be made. There was açaí all over the floor in one of the booths and no body bothered to clean it up. The bowl itself was alright, but it was basically melted by the time I got home since they let it sit for so long. read more

Feeling blessed to have a playa bowls here when they're usually by the beach! I've tried other açaí bowl places and have yet to find one I like better than playa bowl (in NJ at least). Few places beat playa on portion size. The bowls are huge! They are generous with the fruit and granola too. I've tried various half and half bases but my favorite base is still açaí so now I just order 100% açaí base. My hack is picking a relatively inexpensive bowl like the pura vida bowl ($11) and subbing out the strawberry and blueberry for more "exciting" fruits like kiwi and mango. The price doesn't change as long as it's still two fruits! Great place for your açaí bowl fix. Large parking lot and you can take out or eat inside it is cute. read more

This is for the Newark Airport (EWR) Kiosk in Terminal A. Absolutely the worst service. First, they told me that they were out of half of the ingredients for my smoothie and then upcharged me $2 to replace the missing ingredients with something else. Next, they completely FORGOT about the order (one of them wondered why we were standing there and then found our ticket) and threw attitude at us like we were interrupting them. I wouldn't get another thing from this place if it was the only food service open in the airport. I only gave it one star because there isn't anything lower. read more

This was my first time trying Playa Bowl and I will definitely return. They are on the pricier side but it is well worth it. They have a verity of items for every craving. I decided to go with the Electric Mermaid (Pitaya blend top with granola, kiwi, pineapple, mango, coconut flakes and honey. Sooooo good and refreshing. My daughter went with the Nutata (Pitaya blend topped with granola, banana, blueberry, coconut flakes, raw cocoa nibs and Nutella). Just plain delicious. As soon as you walk in the smell of fresh fruit makes you happy. Two bowls $23.46 but they are full to the top. I will be returning to this location for sure. read more
