The staff was great, the food was sooo good and we had a great time playing games as we chatted, laughed and connected with our friends. We'd go back just for the food, if it were closer to home. The bar/restaurant is designed so well you could hang out in there with friends and not even realize you're in the middle of a warehouse surrounded by courts. It was exactly what we'd hoped it would be. Highly recommend. Check 'em out!

So much potential and a GREAT addition to the street, was just a miss for us. We live quite close, and while not pickleball people now, sounded like some fun and when I found out they had partnered with another local pizza spot (very famous) I was in! Bar, lovely human, was wonderful, but drinks were just okay, well-priced though and fast, love it! We ordered a pie to-go, and after an hour or so and many drinks waiting (our choice), and no buzz on the alert button they hand out, my partner went up to the to-go counter and asked. Thought they were just slammed. Nope! It had been sitting there for so long it was cold, soaking through the bottom, and when he asked, was told, we didn't hear it and it's our fault....Okay, that's one way to go. It didn't buzz, we heard many others and they make themselves known ;) I would have appreciated just a "oh, it's been ready, here you go." I don't expect service to be perfect or without personally or an apology. But blaming was not necessary when we were not complaining. We will hopefully be welcome again after this review, as it's meant to help improve not hurt. Just a disappointing time that I hope can change. Clearly popular, maybe just one experience for one couple :)

Shannon is an excellent teacher and accommodates all the different learning styles. We had played pickle ball for fun a few times but realized we didn't understand the rules. My husband I both enjoyed the class and she keeps it fun, well-paced and it works for all levels. It attracts a lot of chill people so it's low pressure and easy for someone coming alone, which was true of most the class. Then we went on and took the beginning doubles for more play. You rotate around in 7 minute games with different partners each time so you get a lot of play time and learn from your partners. It's in a nice gym, with AC, great for year round fun.

Was blown away on the drive out from Portland, coming down 43 following the Williamette River. The area and neighborhoods surrounding this park are just beautiful. The park itself is everything you want it to be. Swings and play structures for the kids and a water fountain/splash play area popular in the warm weaver. Bathrooms. Basketball courts. Tennis courts. Walking paths. Covered picnic area and large open field. We attended one of the Music in the Park concerts and the band was Girl Can't Help It, a Journey cover band. They were absolutely fantastic! Totally rocked it! They are playing on the Spirit of Portland in September. There was a very large crowd gathered on the large rolling green field, but it never felt crowded; everyone had plenty of space. The Music was hopping so there were lots of people dancing in front of the stage. There were families and groups of friends everywhere picnicing and enjoying the music. What a fun evening! The free music and concerts in the park is one of my favorite summer activities. Now that I have discovered Tanner Creek Park, I will proactively seek out their schedule so I can enjoy music here often. It as just that good!

West Linn is a mix of natural/traditional parks, best represented by Willamette and Mary S. Young, and new parks that have popped up in the newer housing developments that are much more state of the art. Tanner Creek has a nice covered structure for parties, tennis and basketball courts, and large grassy fields. The only thing that is missing is river access. That is why most of my time is spent at Willamette Park.

I can't say enough good things about Portland Tennis & Education (PT&E)…read more This isn't just a place where kids learn tennis - it's a true community hub that combines high-quality coaching with academic support, mentorship, and a genuinely welcoming environment. Every time I'm on site, I see staff and volunteers greeting kids by name, checking in on school, celebrating small wins, and creating a space where students feel seen and supported. The tennis coaching is fantastic, but what really sets PT&E apart is the focus on education and character. Students are getting homework help, learning life skills, and building confidence on and off the court. Families are embraced, not just "served," and you can feel that sense of trust and belonging from the moment you walk in. The leadership team works incredibly hard behind the scenes to keep programs strong, safe, and accessible, and it shows - from well-run events like the annual Tennis Ball to thoughtful communication with families and supporters. If you care about kids, education, and equity in Portland, supporting PT&E is one of the best things you can do.
