I have had several rackets strung here, never an issue Brought a racket in for stringing last week, came in to pick it up, and they couldn't find my racket. At least 3 people searched the entire store, but no luck. They apologized profusely while they looked. After about fifteen minutes, they got a new racket to string for me. Before they started, I noticed my racket under a bunch of others, so they quickly strung it. So ok, turns out they should have had it strung by pickup time, and it wasn't that hard to find. But the fact they offered me a brand new ( upgraded) racket tells me everything I need to know about the integrity of the shop. They do a great job with stringing but I ordered a racquet recently on 11/4 and it is now 12/13. It never arrived but was told next week over and over again. I called to check on it five times and was promised a call back. Only got one once. Very poor customer service. I won't order anything from them again but will have my racquet strung. Very disappointing since I was really trying to give a small business some business. Today I ordered the same racquet on tennis warehouse and it will be here in two days. I called them for a badminton restring and they charge a whopping 43$!! with 2 string options available (that's 10 to 15$ more than other shops). Rep gave me an excuse like, "it takes 3 times longer than a tennis racquet." Come on! Sadly, way too expensive. read more

Player's Racquet Shop - Awesome re string. Good as new! - Sporting Goods Near Me - Beaverton, Oregon

On the 16th of March 2024 I purchased a new racquet with my CC unsure of the strings I wanted I left and returned right at closing the employee informed me that they had shut off their point of sale and couldn't ring me up and would get me when I picked it up. Normally it should only take 24hrs to string a racquet it took them 3 days. I went back on the 19th to pick it up handed them my CC to pay for the strings he asked me if I wanted a receipt which I replied no and left got home and to my surprise the same individual that sold me the racquet charged me for the racquet again and full price for the stringing which they normally give u a discount if you buy the racquet. So I called them and informed they what they had done they said they would refund me my money on the CC I used and give me the discount on the stringing. I went back to the store later that day to get a copy of the receipt showing the refund which they printed out for me several days went by didn't see a credit on my CC account. I went into the store and complained their answer was it takes five days to process I called the owner and complained to him he said he would look into it. He sent me a copy of the batch receipt of the refund. I then waited a few more days nothing on my CC account of a return for the racquet. Six days went by still now credit I called my CC company they said they had to refund or return transaction from that company or the amount. I called the owner again he said there was nothing he could do. DO NOT SHOP THERE THEY ARE LAZY HAVE NO CORE VALUES OR INTEGRITY AT ALL!!! read more

Player's has taken care of me for years. They have the shoes I like(Nike Vapor Tour) and I get a couple of pairs a year. They have a great selection of demo racquets and this really helps when getting a new racquet set up. You can try the Federer Wilson or the Rafa Babolat or my consistent favorite, the Babolat Pure Drive. I also appreciate that they carry 18g Gamma Pro strings, not everyone does. Mostly come here for grips, strings and to get rackets restrung, but have also purchased rackets before. It's usually pretty quite, relaxed atmosphere, and you can be in and out if you're on a time crunch. They used to be near us and have moved away although still on Hall blvd. Couple years ago they restrung our 9 years old racquet for a junior tournament (using dot balls). We had special request somehow they didn't do it. Teenager who worked there probably didn't understand. Price wasn't cheap but 48 hours pick up is what we needed. Dicks charges a little cheaper when you bring your string but will take 7-10 days. Middle of Covid here where we just have local courts back in use and I imagine lots of players are so ready to refresh their racquets. When I called staff said their turnaround is 24 hours. However I dropped off racquet Friday they told me to come back Monday (even tho they are open Saturday). Alright I compromised these days. Went back Monday at 3:40pm they have not done anything with my racquet. No new strings no new grip. Good that we are just few miles away so we came home and went out again. Pretty annoying. So that's like 3 days turnaround. Not sure who runs the shop. Looks like they are all teenagers doing summer jobs. I also asked to pad the grip for me as son hands getting bigger. Nope they didn't do it. We will find out how the strings work this time. Don't really have much hope for it. Until next time I hope to upgrade my review. read more

Players Beaverton is a pain to get to if you don't know the Beavo. I didn't and I kept driving by it and could see it, but jusssst couldn't seem to get there. Myabe that says more about me than it does the location of Players, but FYI.. I eventually got there. There is a small parking lot for convenience. Once you do land, the shop is rad. The staff (ask for Shari!) are very knowledgeable about what they have on the shelves. The offer the best in grip tapes, stringing, racquets and bags and they even have some clothes. If you need your racquet strung, this is the place to get it done! read more

The lack of competition makes things really expensive. It seems to be run by mostly college students who know how to string. The string jobs are quiet expensive - just synthetic gut. I asked for a special request and the kid had no idea what to do. However, he was polite. I preferred when it used to be court side. Good selection of product. read more

Have driven past this place a hundred times, even do business next door at the bike shop. Never really paid it any attention, until I wanted to have my grip reduced. Dropped in one morning, Brian took off my existing wrap, explained why it couldn't be done by shaving, offered a thin wrap, put it on, charged me $10 and I was out the door in about 15 minutes...and that was with about 5 minutes of talking to him about other racquets. The guy impressed me, the store seems awesome, will definitely return when I have more time. Highly recommend. read more

We run a local community based Tennis tournament each summer. This place has been out go to place for balls for the past 3 years. This year has been a challenge for us to get the balls we normally use in our tournament. But it has talk us to not depend on this store for balls in the future. It's probably best for us to look online to have them ship. As the demand for stuff goes up at this store the customer experience deteriorates. That definitely lets a lot about the folks who work at the store. This week we've at the store atleast 3 days for balls. The store owner Brain assures us that Thu, Fri they expect shipment of new cases, take my number to call. Friday comes along no call from them and when we call them they say shipment has arrived. We head to the store and they inform us that they are out of the cases. Brain tries to make us believe that we were not interested in getting the balls. This place is clearly an example of when there is a demand for there store they take customer experience for granted. We will take this as a lesson learnt and figure out alternatives to this store. read more
