Stopped in while taking a scenic drive through Iowa and didn't want to get Casey's Pizza (I love it, I really do but wasn't what I wanted) and I felt welcomed from the moment I stopped in until the moment I left. No joke--this is some of the best Mexican food we have ever had! Alex is such a gracious host, the menu offerings are extensive and amazing, the margaritas are delicious (and huge!), and they accommodated our daughter's dietary restrictions to perfection! Pink guava margarita is also delicious. ;-) Best of all, staff is so friendly and customer service is top notch! I've been here once and I need to try it again. Mango margarita was divine, would go back for this alone. Loved the chips and dip brought to the table, one was salsa, the other was like a pico de gallo. We were a little iffy on this new restaurant but one try and we were sold. Puerto Rican pork and plantains were a nice surprise, many items not seen around here before which is definitely a good thing. Stopped here tonight as our dinner spot in Atlantic as was recommended by our Airbnb host! We were pleasantly surprised to find a delicious dinner spot in a small town. Host greeted us promptly and we were seated right away. Ordered some nachos to share and enchiladas as a meal which were both delicious! Water glass was never empty and food came quickly. my biggest critique: fish/seafood does not belong on the vegetarian menu. i saw the vegetarian menu, got excited, then realized half of it was fish/seafood. that's annoying. the service here is GREAT. everyone was really nice and made sure we had everything and that everything was good. my wife got a margarita, which was DELICIOUS. i believe it was a mango flavor. my wife got some sort of steak or beef fajitas, which she enjoyed quite a bit. i got a stuffed poblano pepper (stuffed with peppers and mushrooms), which was very good. i would definitely get it again. i wish they had a more extensive vegetarian menu, but for a town like Atlantic, it's just that they have one at all. read more

I was in town for a wedding and had lunch here before the ceremony. The staff was all very friendly and welcoming. The food was also great! They had your standard Mexican selections and a lot of specialty dishes to choose from. I have nothing bad to say about any of the food we ordered. If I ever come back to Atlantic, I'd definitely eat here again. read more

Hands down one of the best dining experiences I've had anywhere. This is great food and service. The owner greets everyone at the door with a smile and a "hello friends" or "hola, amigos." Several regulars were greeted warmly as well. The rest of the staff was equally friendly and attentive. This is one restaurant where the food looks like the pictures on the website and menu. We had the Azteca salad, Azteca enchilada, fajita burrito, and steak fajitas. Great flavor and presentation, particularly on the salad. Who would expect spinach, beets, berries, and roasted almonds with queso fresca? After finishing, we were going to pass on dessert. Then the owner mentioned sopapillas, only to come back to regretfully tell us there were none for the day. He offered a churro cheesecake which was a sublime mixture of honey, cinnamon and whipped cream served with chocolate, vanilla, and raspberry ice cream. It was outstanding. The total was less than $50 (plus a well-deserved tip). Value, service, and excellence in preparation and presentation. All restaurants should take lessons. If you are driving through central Iowa, be sure to support this family owned restaurant. read more

Let me start by saying I had low expectations. I live in Texas and was visiting the town I went to high school in. So I decide to try this little Mexican restaurant . To say that I was amazed by both the drinks and the food is an understatement. Hidden in middle America , is a gem of Mexican American flavor ! Personally I ordered the carne asada , a mojito and some queso. Now the queso wasn't the yellow cheese we get a lot in Texas but it was still good. The tacos carne asada though.....transcendent!!! You owe it to yourself to order a mojito there as well. It was the perfect example of what they are meant to be. read more

What a lovely experience. Met at the door and welcomed like family even though we're from out of town and first time there. The host opens the door as we approach. Shakes everyone's hand, seats us immediately and takes drink orders. While waiting the waitress brings water, chips, salsa and a small plate of ceviche. Equally friendly. The place is really cute, bright and clean. Food arrived steaming hot. I had seafood chimichanga. Delicious. Succulent shrimp and scallops. Creamy sauce. Some guac and sour cream although not needed with cream sauce. Rice and beans were good also. My daughter had tacos al pastor and it was so flavorful and tender. My brother had chile verde and I can honestly say I have never had such tender melt in your mouth pork. House made strawberry lemonade. We live about an hour away and have tons of great. Mexican restaurants. I would and will drive the hour for this food and experience. Really delightful. Next time want to try the flan! read more
