I ordered the DANISH NATIONAL DISH and FRIED LIVER (I believe they are #19 and #20 on the menu). Interestingly, the server recommended something similar (another pork belly dish) over the national dish; stating it tastes much better and much softer... which I probably should have went with this recommendation since the national dish was TOUGH AS BONES. It wasn't crispy, chewy, or tasty. It was simply inedible. One couldn't even chew or cut through the meat... the side of skin on mini/small potatoes were simply boiled. The beet dish was delicious. The sauce didn't have much flavor (crazy how extra sauce costs 35 DKK more). The VEAL LIVER dish tasted better than the national dish ironically. Gave a tremendous portion. The potatoes were skinned. The gravy had some taste compared to the other sauce from the national dish. Decadent pickled cucumbers which provided a nice palate cleanser. Mushrooms gave a nice chew, a much appreciated and welcomed different texture. ***the bread given was not good at all*** ***it seems that water, even if it's from the sink or obviously bottled by them, costs money in any establishment*** SERVICE: Kind. Attentive. Enthusiastic. Spirited. Happy. Since it was our first meal in Copenhagen we were a tad blown away by the price tag of each meal to the point we thought it was a meal set. The salmon it's self was cooked perfectly. Gently grilled on the outside and moist on the inside, and vegetables were perfectly seasoned. The sauce on the fish was an excellent touch. All in all, it was worth the $. He also recommended Carlsberg Pilsner. Beer that is popular in Denmark. I was tempted to get another one! And finally the desert. Wow, I would fly back to Copenhagen just for this! He recommended the Gammeldags æblekage (apple strudel), it was divine. Thank you for the excellent food and service. 10/10.

Amazing meal in a very cozy environment!…read more We opted to sit by the open kitchen (front of the restaurant) so we can chat with the chefs...it was the best decision as we learned so much about the cuisine and the culture on our first night in Copenhagen. We chose the 3 course option and my friend and I picked 2 different choices for each course so we can try different food. For appetizers, we had the salted cod and the veal tartare. Both were equally delicious and the combination of ingredients were very creative. For entrees, I enjoyed the fish (fried plaice) a lot while my friend liked her pork belly. I am more of a seafood person and the fried plaice was definitely up my alley! For desserts, both choices (sorbet and apple trifle) were simply amazing. The presentation for all the dishes were very well done and each course showcased all the fresh and local ingredients that Denmark has to offer! The bread and the butter were so yummy that we couldn't stop eating. We happened to be there when the restaurant was celebrating their 7th birthday so the sommelier poured us extra wine and gave us a shot of schnapps! The staffs/chefs were all very friendly and funny! We were early for our reservation but was no problem to get seated right away as the restaurant wasn't too busy on a Tuesday evening. Service was friendly and professional. It's a small menu with 3 choices each for appetizers, mains, and desserts. We chose 3 courses for 425DKK which I think was decent value. The food was very good. I think I'd describe it as elevated comfort food - dishes were filling and delicious but flavour combinations were unique and there were some more 'modern' touches (foam, dots of sauces, etc), which added to the dishes rather than overwhelmed them. We started with delicious, hearty bread served with a huge pillow of airy butter (the server told us it had been whipped with buttermilk). The Danes really do great bread! I also had a delicious glass of sparkling wine. We were able to taste the wine before the server poured the whole glass which is always a nice touch. Unlimited water (either still or sparkling) was included for 15DKK (although I only found this out later when we got the bill). I started with steamed mussels which were served with carrot puree, red onion, fennel, and celery. Mussels were served on a plate without the shells, with garnishes mixed in. For the main I had roasted cod, with spinach and potatoes on the side along with celeriac foam, topped with bacon and crisped potatoes. For dessert I chose the raspberry dish, which was a scoop of vanilla ice cream surrounded by raspberries, toasted meringue, and crumbled almond cookies. I don't think this was the best meal I've ever had, but in terms of value in such a pricey city and the great service, it's definitely worth a visit.

It was delicious and definitely different than the fish cakes I'm used to eating in the states. The fish soup was also really good, especially with the bread. The ambiance was unbeatable. Too bad we didn't sit outside for the view; it was way too cold in December!

Whilst simple, the dish was very flavorful and filling. I also had the pale ale, which hit the spot for me. A berry-flavored soda that my boyfriend had was also very tasty and highly recommended. Service was great. The staff members were kind and prompt in everything. Ambience was quintessentially Danish. Simple but sophisticated, it was perfect for a pre-wedding meal.
