I appreciate the customer service. I also like that they inspect your vehicle for potential issues.

When he found out who did the work, he talked about how well he knew the guy and said he would've done the same thing (not even having seen the car). He said she could bring it by for testing, but he also told her he's expensive. Ah. Okay. Message received. You don't want our business. We won't be going back to find out if he's a decent mechanic or not. But I thought other people might need to know that this mechanic even describes himself as "expensive."

Forward- Vehicle involved-2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 5.7…read more About me - Retired now but x-auto-mechanic; have been working on and with all types of vehicles since the '80s, so my extensive experience is of great value to me when it comes to knowing another credible auto-mechanic. Early Sept 2021, we began experiencing new issues with this vehicle, in short: 1. The throttle acceleration would sporadically jump (as if one was to tap the gas pedal on and off) and then for no reason, die. 2. The vehicle would die unexpectedly no matter speed or angle. 3. Would not hold a steady idle. I used a consumer model code reader to see if I could determine the possible issue and resolve it myself, knowing how expensive it is these days for auto-repair, especially if it involved troubleshooting/replacing electronic components. I did retrieve some codes ex: U1411 which indicated the likely cause was the ECM. Well, I also happen to know the ignition switch could cause the vehicle to unexpectedly die so I changed that component first. It's an easy replacement and an inexpensive component ($30) but a little tedious to replace for most that are not mechanically inclined; however that did not resolve the issue. I researched for about 4 hours in addition to speaking to a couple of 30+ year ASE Certified Jeep mechanics who, after reviewing everything were very confident it was the PCM and not the ECM. That said, other than locating one from a salvage yard, the PCM ($1,300) was no longer available for this vehicle nor was the ECM which would have been considerably less. After speaking to John (Owner of "MasterTech Auto Repair") in Harrison, AR. and describing the issues, he assured me he had much more sophisticated equipment to perform a more in-depth diagnosis. He was relatively confident that he would be able to determine the issue fairly quickly over a few days. So that was the best and most effective way forward to determine what the issue was. After a few days of diagnostics/graphs and research, John updated us indicating although right now he was leaning towards the ECM being the issue, he only felt 75% confident. He also mentioned he was noticing some fluctuating voltage in the throttle body. In any case, he wasn't satisfied just yet and asked if it would be OK for him to continue his deep diagnostics and troubleshooting until he felt confident of the cause. I told him to keep it and do what he needed to do until he felt absolutely confident of his diagnosis because I wasn't going to spend money on an ECM or PCM if that didn't resolve the issue and he completely understood. So, 2 more days went by and we received an update call from John. After even more graphing and diagnostics and personal persistence, John said he was now absolutely confident the issue was in fact the throttle body. All in all, after previously conferring with other long-tenured ASE certified Jeep mechanics, their recommendations could have cost us upwards of $1,500-2,000+, and instead, the decision to take it to MasterTech Auto Repair was the correct choice and most affordable and effective choice and resulted in the complete satisfaction of this customer all due to John's steadfast insistence not to be partially satisfied but to be absolutely satisfied with a cause and resolution. Readers Note: Coming from a family of Auto and Aircraft Mechanics, I am not easily pleased nor satisfied when it comes to dealing with most people who claim to be auto-mechanics b/c most don't know anywhere near what they claim to know. Dealing directly with John at MasterTech was a very nice and refreshing experience and I personally and HIGHLY recommend them to anyone.

If I could give a negative 5 stars I would. Word to the wise. If you live in the northwest Arkansas…read morearea and you need repair on your car or truck, DO NOT take it to Brockman Auto Repair. They told me my truck repair of an exhaust manifold leak was an 8 hour job. They had it for A MONTH! Then they completely tore my entire motor apart. Then they said my timing chain guide was broken and was in my oil pan. Bullcrap! If it was broken why was my timing chain fine and my truck was running fine when I took it in? And the whole month he had it, he never called me to tell me what was going on. I kept having to call and ask him what was going on. And he just kept telling me he would only charge me for 8 hours labor. When he finally finished the job a month later, he held my truck "hostage" and wouldn't let me have it until I paid at least $1,350! Which if I had known what he was doing I would have told him to forget it. Then I get my truck back, FINALLY and it barely made it home. Now it won't run. It was running FINE before this. It was just loud because of the exhaust leak. He tore my truck up. And I paid him to do it. What a joke. And don't fall for his "Christian" ad trying to get you to trust him. He is a con artist Also when I went to pick up my truck he was not there. So he called me when he returned and was very hateful because I asked him if I could pay $500 down and monthly payments. He had a horrible attitude and was very angry with me. He souped up the charges to almost $2000 and there was no way I could pay that much! He finally let me have it agter paying $1,350 and made me sign a paper promising to pay the rest when I got paid. Now It wont even run and I refuse to pay anymore to him for destroying my truck. Word to the wise. BEWARE e.

Okay, so probably everyone knows Walmart auto center is not going to win any awards for their…read moremechanic work, but I just wanted to share my experience. Recently went to Walmart to get some tires balanced (that I bought elsewhere) because I didn't have time to make it to one of the actual tire care shops in Harrison before they closed the week I got my tires, so I went to Walmart. I was there for two and a half hours, which I expected because Walmart is both short staffed on mechanics and just not geared to be a efficient auto center. What really grinded gears tho was the lack of professionalism in the actual service of mounting my tires, along side the fact that they are right up there with the most expensive option for mounting tires. Manufactures put dots on tires so that when you mount then, you can line them up with the valve stem on rims and minimize the use of counter balance weights. Usually, the valve stem should be lined up with the yellow one. All my tires were all out on without regard to these markings and came with a relatively excessive amount of weights needed for premium factory rims. Really is not a huge deal, but a good illustration of quality of Walmarts auto program (in Harrison). At the end of the day I'm sure that my tires are mounted and balanced decently but I had to wait almost three hours for walmart to do a mediocre job for full retail price? The lesson is, go to Walmart only if you have to. You can buy better tires at a better price at a lot of places, and get them mounted by real professionals, likely for less money and in a shorter period of time. Thank you for coming to my TED talk
