I have found this clinic both before switching owner/vets and currently to do a provide good professional service. There assistants as Amelia and William and Bonnie know their stuff and are courteous. The others whose names elude me are good too. The new vets as well as DR. WHITED (floating specialist) have provided numerous services to me. I bring show dogs, stray dogs and lots of feral cats in for care. I have been treated fairly and not presented with mystery charges as a previous post said. Yelp has several not published reviews that appear at end of reviews. I suggest you read them as there is good positive info in them

Our family sees the vet here, and we have used them when traveling with our pets. They are very nice and do a great job.

I am long overdue to write this review. I have been bringing my senior cat, Toothless, to Town N'…read moreCountry for a little over a year now since moving back to Burlington. In that time, we have certainly been "frequent flyers," due to several health events. I believe we have seen or interacted with every veterinarian at the practice and most of the vet techs and front desk staff at some point, and everyone has been amazing and has truly gone above and beyond to help our sweet boy. I won't go into Toothless' whole backstory because we would be here all day. Basically, throughout the time we have been with Town & Country, they have helped Toothless through a UTI, a major surgery to remove an abdominal mass, weight loss, seizures, pancreatitis, gallstones, in addition to all the other "normal" things that come with being a senior cat. It would've been so easy for a veterinarian to encourage us to put Toothless down at any point during his health journey; in fact, that happened at the emergency vet that we took him to late one night prior to us finding the abdominal mass and having surgery. The veterinarians at Town N' Country always present us with all available options and help us weigh the pros and cons of each. Their dedication to doing what is best for Toothless, and for us, has really gone above and beyond anything I expected. The only reason Toothless is alive today is because of the dedication of the vets, vet techs, and staff at Town N' Country. Especially since he had his abdominal surgery in April, I have been in contact with Town N' Country through text or phone more days than not. Even though I have been constantly messaging them and asking questions, all the staff at Town N' Country have been so helpful, understanding, and respectful, and they genuinely want Toothless to feel better. They've truly been a light in a really difficult time for us. Thank you to all the front desk staff for being so helpful and kind, especially the Forestdale front desk staff, who recognize us by sight when we walk in now. Thank you to all the vet techs who have worked with Toothless, but especially Alyssa, who took time to find the most affordable option for B12 injections when we were drowning in vet bills and took time on short notice to show us how to give Toothless B12 injections. Thank you to Dr. Bolynn for performing Toothless's abdominal surgery and answering my million questions afterward; even at his age, he healed amazingly thanks to the outstanding job you did. Thank you, Dr. King, for performing repeated abdominal ultrasounds on Toothless to get to the bottom of everything going on with him and explaining everything so clearly and being so empathetic. Thank you, Dr. Horn, for seeing Toothless for urgent care visits when we could not get him to eat. Thank you, Dr. Mills, for seeing us on short notice after Toothless had a seizure in May and for researching the underlying cause of his persistent diarrhea. And thank you, Dr. Hicks, for consistently being willing to try things to help Toothless have the best possible quality of life and researching further information to help him. Genuinely, Toothless, Alex, and I cannot thank you ALL enough. If I could give Town N' Country 100 stars, I would.

My journey with Dr. Hicks began when I urgently reached out to Town n Country Veterinary after a…read moresudden decline in the health of my one-year-old rat, Baby Betty Blue. Betty was initially a feeder rat from a pet store. I adopted her to accompany a rat I was fostering, who had lost their best friend. Although the pet store didn't sell pet rats, they sold male feeder rats, and the staff members were happy that she somehow made her way into the feeder bucket because now she had a home. This marked the beginning of an unbreakable bond a person has with an animal. Betty is not just any rat; she is an extraordinary companion who brought immense joy and adventure into my life. Despite her small size, she exuded a vibrant spirit and was always excited to be with me. Her adventurous nature earned her the nickname "The Great Adventure Rat." Betty has a chronic upper respiratory virus, similar to feline infections, which caused her near-death experience and left lung scarring. She even has her own Minnie Mouse-sized nebulizer! This is Betty's story. On February 6th, while saying goodnight to Betty, I discovered a lump near her left ear. Since it was the weekend, I took Betty to urgent care. They were unable to provide a definitive diagnosis, but the lump, which had doubled in size overnight, was suspected to be malignant cancer due to its behavior. Determined to give Betty a fighting chance, I sought help from NC State Veterinary School and set an appointment for a few days later. First, a student was sent out first to inform me that if I see any red or bloody tears from Betty, it's just something that happens to rats in extremely stressful situations. I've seen severely stressed rats and haven't seen that before. They told me she had pretty severe scarring on her lungs, red stuff in her nose that rats develop from physical trauma, and also the ear bone on the side with the tumor was disintegrating. The vet said the mass wrapped up to her shoulder and down to her neck and was invading muscle and vascular portions of her small body. There was no way it could be 100% removed and would possibly grow back while she was recovering from surgery IF she even survived. Betty has been too terrified to come out of her enclosure since and only trusts me. I did not give up and sent an email to many small animal and exotics vets and had only receive a few responses as a week went by. I was losing hope and didn't want to waste our time left searching for vets constantly, so I stopped. On February 23rd, I was ecstatic to receive a response from Dr. Hicks, who expressed her willingness to help AND remove the tumor! Dr. Hicks, whom I met on February 24th, was incredibly kind and understanding. The mass on Betty's body having grown slightly, was beginning to cause her discomfort. We both agreed that Betty deserved one last shot at many more pain-free days, even if it meant risking her life with surgery. After an anxious three-hour wait, Dr. Hicks emerged with a smile, delivering the best news: she believed she had removed the entire mass, even around her carotid artery! Betty was alive, recovering well, and happy to see me. It was a moment of immense relief and joy. Just a week later, Betty is fully healed, back to adventure seeking and free from medication. Dr. Hicks' dedication and skill saved my beloved friend when no one else was willing to try. Her compassion and expertise is rare, and I cannot express enough gratitude for her help. Dr. Hicks is so friendly and bubbly, it feels like talking to a best friend who's going to save your pet. If you are in the Burlington, NC area, or are fine with traveling a bit to get the best care for your furry friend. I highly recommend Dr. Hicks at Town n Country Veterinary. She is truly exceptional. My gratitude for this sweet, young vet is without bounds. She could call me at midnight with a shady task and well, if do it, no questions asked!
