This bed & breakfast is an incredible experience. The dinner & breakfast are truly feasts to be savored. Barbara & Don are incredible & provide a relaxing & pampering atmosphere. Every detail is seen to perfection. The authentic 19th century farmhouse is beautiful, very clean & extremely comfortable. A wonderful getaway! read more

Pool area was closed all weekend, even though when booking it said was open and that was a big reason we booked this hotel. There looked like mold on the shower head and on the tub. There was used plastic spoon, fork, and knife in a side table. The vent above the toilet was very dusty, not sure if cleaned. There was a chip in the side table. And the WiFi was where you have to go to a separate page to log in on your phone and you are unable to use any systems you bring in the WiFi. Tried to ask to pay for a soda and front desk said it was for higher members. Tried to use the vending machine instead and it was out of order. The shower bar for the curtain was off a little. Check out was at 12 and they called around 11 and 11:45 to remind you it was at 12. Do not disturb was on door at check out and around 11:30 we had a knock on the door from housekeeping. Felt a big pushy to leave before check out time. Breakfast was not mine or my husbands favorite. We ended up not eating much and going somewhere else to eat. They didn't refill the milk the first day when we came down and the second day the milk was a little warm. Ac in the room did not go down to the temp it said and no matter how many times I pressed it sometimes it would not go up or down in temperature setting. Edit to add photos

The Tru holds on to its millennial design. Nice size pool table in the lobby. There was a group of guys killing it as I was checking in. The receptionists are always friendly and welcoming. Thanking me for being a Gold Member. If you don't want to go out, you can grab a snack, drinks, or a quick microwaveable meal from the snack area around the front desk. Not Free of Course. They have a really good selection. Room was super comfy once I got the AC to shut off. Apparently, I slept straight through a wild thunderstorm that blew through in the middle of the night. I never heard a thing. Next morning, I rose like a rooster freshly restored and ready to take on the world . Don't sleep on TRU by Hilton. Give them a try.

Karen was a wonderful host and the…read morehighlight of my day was the 3 course breakfasts she made me - how can your day go wrong after that! I was the sole guest during my 3 day 2 night stay there so felt like I had the whole top floor to myself. The house is an old structure but Karen has made it a cosy and comfy home away from home. My room was well-furnished with a nice size bed and fireplace seating area. This room also had a nice big tub in the bedroom space as well as a doored bathroom with shower. The balcony opened out to views of the street. Nice big spaced room with lots of windows/shades, light and a fan too. No TV here but you do have uninterrupted wifi. Parking is on a lot just across the street and the location is great - this is the closes B&B to the square where all the shops and restaurants are located. Nice quiet neighborhood but still close to historic attractions. Guests can be entertained in the living area downstairs. You get a key to enter and exit the inn as you wish. Fridge on the upper level has water and soda aplenty. Towels, toiletries provided and Karen has lived in the area long enough to provide any info, etc. My stay was pleasant and enjoyable. The quiet and calm provided for some much warranted writing time for me. Rates are really cheap and rooms can be booked over the phone with Karen.

About the only negative is that Abbeville is a little far from a major highway, but that can't be blamed on the host. One of the hidden gems of South Carolina and I mean both the Inn and the town itself.
