IF I could give this place a ZERO I would !! This location…read morewas not only unprofessional, but deeply discriminatory. I arrived with a confirmed reservation paid for through CRS Housing, yet from the moment I walked in, I was treated differently than the white guests checking in before me. The front desk employee greeted them warmly, but when it was my turn, her entire demeanor changed -- no greeting, no courtesy, just immediate hostility. The difference in treatment was obvious, and it set the tone for what became a clear case of racial profiling. She repeatedly insisted my card was "declining," even though the incidentals had already been charged. I attempted to show her the transaction on my account, and she refused to look, raised her voice, and became confrontational. When I asked for the manager's contact information, she slammed his business card on the counter instead of handing it to me respectfully. Instead of resolving the issue, she escalated the situation by calling the police on me -- a paying guest -- simply for asking for clarification and proper service. I was then banned from the property based on false accusations, including claims that I threatened her. These accusations were completely untrue. My 17‑year‑old, who never even stepped out of the car, was also falsely mentioned in her story. When I attempted to speak with the manager, he repeatedly cut me off and hung up on me instead of listening. The entire situation was mishandled, disrespectful, and rooted in bias. No guest should ever be treated this way, especially when they have done nothing wrong. I will not be returning to this location, and I strongly urge corporate to investigate the conduct of the staff involved.

The fitness center was clean and well organized, and the pool and hot tub looked inviting, although we arrived too late to use them since they were already closed. Breakfast was surprisingly better than what we've come to expect at most Holiday Inns, which was a nice bonus. Our room was mostly clean and comfortable. A couple of things stood out, though: there was hair from a previous guest on the shower wall, and one of the couch cushions had quite a few stains on the underside. Also, the TV wasn't centered with the beds, which seemed like an odd design choice but wasn't a major issue. The elevators were a little questionable during our stay, and one was actually taken out of service just as we were leaving. The real standout of this hotel was the front desk associate working when we arrived around 10:30 p.m. She was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. She let us know that if we needed bedding for the pull-out sofa, all we had to do was call, and she would bring it up--which she did promptly with a smile. Even though it was late, she remained cheerful and seemed happy to help. We stay in hotels fairly often, and it's refreshing to encounter someone who provides that level of customer service, especially compared to the more routine overnight staff we often come across. I wish I remembered her name because she definitely deserves recognition. Overall, for a quick overnight stay or even a few nights, this Holiday Inn serves its purpose well. It's a solid option with a great staff, good breakfast, and mostly comfortable accommodations.

I refused to sit on the sofa because was stained with God knows what. The bathroom door was scratched up and the grouting was dirty in spots. In addition, the breakfast staff was welcoming, set up everything nicely and kept the tables clean for guests.

I thought it was a museum, which it kind of is. Our room was on the ground floor behind the main mansion. We arrived in the evening so they left us information on how to get into our room. The room was big and stunning. I loved the wood floors and everything inside the room. Everything was spotless. The beds were two queens and they were very comfortable. In the morning we went to the mansion for breakfast. The hosts were extremely friendly and made us feel at home while they cooked us some fresh eggs. The price was very reasonable and this was way better than staying at a hotel, it just was way more relaxing. I highly recommend the Lookaway Inn!

There's the main house (which I honestly don't know if there are guest rooms in the main house, but I would think so) and then there are additional rooms around the back. I stayed in one of the rooms out back. The room was on the ground floor and was spacious and beautifully appointed in period appropriate furnishings. The bathroom was also spacious and and a big and deep jetted tub, which was an unexpected bonus. The room was clean and quiet and the bed was comfortable. The inn is conveniently located to eateries etc. For my solo traveling girlies: + I don't believe the Inn is staffed all night. I was checking in around 5:30pm and the Innkeeper texted me to let me know they had a meeting and wouldn't be there upon arrival. They sent me instructions for how to do a self-check in and gain access to my room. My car was the only car in the parking lot all night. I didn't see anyone else--I believe I was the only one at the inn that night. + My room was accessed from the outside (ie: my room didn't lead to a hallway--it lead to the outdoors). And, there were two doors to access the room (both leading outside). They both did have deadbolts and one had a door chain at the top, +Parking is on site, well lit, and close to entrances +The inn appears to be in a nice area of town I don't know that I'd stay here solo again but would 100% stay with my partner.

The same employee who checked her in and personally handed her the room key later went to her room and began banging aggressively on the door. At the time, my wife was in the shower. She called out through the door that she was in the shower and could not open it. Despite this, the employee--James--continued to bang on the door and demanded that she open it to identify herself and provide her ID. This made no sense, as he already knew who she was and had just checked her in moments earlier. He persisted multiple times, insisting she open the door. This behavior terrified my wife. She felt unsafe, vulnerable, and unsure of what to do, especially as a woman alone in the room. I was on the phone with her during the incident and heard everything unfold in real time. Because of how unsafe she felt, my wife made the decision to leave the hotel and check out immediately. No guest--especially a woman staying alone--should ever be made to feel frightened or pressured like this by hotel staff. This experience was extremely disappointing, and I will be contacting corporate to report this incident. This type of behavior is completely unacceptable, and no one should ever be made to feel this way while staying at a hotel.
