Up until now I"ve also been buying my daughter's ballet shoes online, but since I just signed her up for a *real* dance studio* I thought maybe I should make sure the ballet shoes fit. And that's how we found ourselves at Body & Sole. My little one was fitted for ballet shoes and immediately found her way to their bar where she demonstrated some very awkward looking dance poses that made me think this ballet thing may be short lived. I wasn't planning to buy any leotards here, but couldn't resist buying her yet another sparkly pink ballet dress. It was more expensive than I've found online yet less expensive than what I've seen in actual dance studios in the past. My daughter was also quite excited about the ballet outfits they sell for american girl dolls here. The two women who helped me were very helpful and even had a binder of requested attire from all the dance studios in the area. Fortunately, 3 1/2 year olds can wear whatever they want so the sparkly pink ballet dress will get lots of use. The ballet shoes themselves have already been put to use during a week long ballet camp at Baby Take a Bow.** My little ballerina loved shopping there so much that now when we pass the store she screams "there's my favorite ballet store!" We didn't make it past the immediate entrance. A couple entered behind us, that we'd just encountered in a previous store. The woman that worked in the store, asked if we were together. We immediately said no. She asked again. We repeated, no. She walked past us and went to the Indian couple and asked them what they needed. It was blatantly racist. I was flabbergasted. The sales woman then dismissively says to us, "You can look around" as if she was doing us a favor! I looked at my cousin, turned around, and we left. Do NOT waste your time giving this place the benefit of the doubt. It's already overpriced. To have racism and rudeness on autopilot is absurd. I'm not sure how they stay open. The store was void of customers until we walked in, so there was no excuse about anyone being busy. I'll never go here or recommend anyone to go here again.
