We are new to the area and desperately needed a plumber... The house we bought advertised new Plumbing & Electric, but when we moved in our toilets & showers/tubs backed up!! We called "Plumbing by Jake". We got a plumber within an hour; Our home warranty plan said it would take 24-48 hrs before we could even get an appt. for a plumber!! James with P-by-J was FANTASTIC!! he not only got the bathrooms working he told us why this happened and gave us an estimate of cost to fix it. James was so thorough and explained & showed us in detail what we needed to do. When James came back to crawl under the house and fix the straps that had broken, due to lack of integrity by who knows who!! He said he placed-- & showed us the pictures of his work--- 8 straps an 8th inch apart so our water flow to the city main would not back up again!! He also gave my husband advise on placing water spickets and how to add pressure to water. I will definitely use JAMES with "Plumbing by Jake" again!! ZERO STARS if a business ruins your dishwasher, washer and refrigerator ice maker, you don't give thems stars. Reading other reviews made me wonder why I ever let these highly incompetent people in my house. $1,500. In lost appliances and of course the charges i paid them to do it. DONT CALL THEM. THEY SUCK WORST THAN THE SUCKIEST SUCK EVER. I can't post without a star but don't be fooled, they deserve ZERO They stated someone was gonna reach out and address my problem. More lies. Let me first start with the positive ... we had to have our hot water recirculating pump replaced. Devon did an excellent job turning off the water to the hot water heater, draining the tank, running to a local hardware store to purchase the $350 replacement, unscrewing the old pump and screwing the new one in, turning the hot water back on, and starting up the new pump. He managed to do all of this, start to finish, in 1 hour and 45 minutes. Everything works as advertised. The negative ... this all cost $1321.65! Even subtracting the $99 just-to-show-up fee and rounding up the cost of the pump to cover the tax, that leaves at least $800 for 1 hour & 45 minutes of work. ALL he did was literally UNSCREW an old part and SCREW a new one back in. I called to complain and was told that no one from the plumbing department was available to talk to me and that they would call me back. I AM STILL WAITING????? Additionally, Devon did not leave the operating manual, so I had to call to ask for one (which I have NOT received as yet). I also had to request a copy of a VERY minimal "Description of Work" invoice, because that was not emailed to me even though Devon said I would receive it within 15 minutes. When I asked for a more detailed invoice, I was told that this was the way their system worked and that there is no further detail. read more

Kingman, ARIZIONA I called plumbers in the area, asking each for their hourly labor rate, Ambient Edge/ Jake's Plumbing said they have a flat rate dispatch of $179. So I told her I needed pressure switch to be replaced, what would that cost? she replied "it's flat rate $179 diagnostic fee, we don't have an hourly rate." I said "I already know what the problem is, I need the technician to bring a pressure switch with him.. it needs to be replaced, what will that cost, what is your hourly rate?" she replied AGAIN, "we don't have an hourly rate... it would be the $179 flat rate dispatch fee." I asked "plus parts?" she said "yes, to get the job done." The technician called, I told him to bring a pressure switch. He arrived with an Everbuilt pressure switch ( receipt listed it as $27.80) The technician removed the old pressure switch, installed new one. It worked, he was finished in approx 45 minutes. He wanted me to sign his computer tablet with a total price of $683.00! There was no itemized receipt, just a place for total amount, and wanted me to sign it. I was shocked at the price! told him to call the office, I wasn't paying that much after being quoted $179.00 plus parts. He said it was probably the mark up. I said I expect a markup of double the part price, possibly even 3 times maximum for markup, but not $517.00 for a $27.80 part! The technician tried to call the office, nobody answered. We went around and around about the price. I told him i wanted an itemized receipt, because it was bait and switch! He said I would have to take it up with the office in the morning. The manger was EXTREMELY rude, hollering on the phone. Threatened to remove the part if I didn't pay in full. I called my bank. They put a hold on the charge and filed a dispute claim against the company. Beware of this company! read more

Called home depot for hot water heater that died last week. They sent a plumber from ambient edge dba Jake the plumber. He came out last Friday, told me it needs to be replaced. Home depot didn't have a 20 gallon hot water heater to replace it with in stock so he said they would reschedule me for Monday. Haven't heard anything from them since. Also wanted to change 2300 dollars for the replacement of the water heater which is a 400 dollar water heater available at Lowes in Bullhead City. A couple hours work for 2 grand? Also the guy acted like I was going to rob him or something and was rubbernecking the entire time he was here. I will buy the water heater and find someone else to help install at a reasonable price. read more

Plumbing by Jake Installed a hot water heater for my dad on 12/15/2022. My dad is on hospice and the caregiver noticed the tank was leaking that evening. I called them to let them know. They couldn't send anybody till 12/17/2022. Got a call when the technician arrived, said we would have to pay to fix their botched installation. Said he would have to drain the tank, he figured it was a bad new rheem hot water tank. I told him to hold off, and I would go to Bullhead City the next day. The pressure relief valve was loose- I called them and told them that they didnt even tighten the valve. Ambient Edge said that the technician said it was the tank-and they would charge us. I called Family Man Plumbing- They came out and fixed Plumbing by Jake's job in less than 30 minutes. Family Man Stated Upon arrival water was pooling on the top of water heater around temperature relief valve. Family Man had to cut temperature relief valve drain valve, remove drain line. Family Man noticed the relief valve a was extremely loose with no evidence of pipe sealant and or teflon tape on the threads. Family Man then Installed pipe thread sealant on the temperature relief valve and re-installed it on the top of water heater, also reinstalled copper drain line from temperature relief valve to existing cooper drain. Family Man Plumbing added: The installation plumbers should have noticed this problem on installation as they screwed a copper line directly to it. Plumbing by Jake couldn't even replace a water heater....... And after charging 1266.00 just for install and an expansion tank, wanted to charge us to fix their botched Installation. A letter has been sent to Home Depot, as they recommended Ambient Edge Plumbing by Jake. FAMILY MAN PLUMBING is the best plumbing Company around. read more

Ryan was Great. He was Very Nice, and Friendly. He gave me a Quote, and I excepted. And Ryan finished in no time. He even gave me some Great Advice for something that I needed to get done after he fixed my leaky faucet outside. Plumbing by Jake has always been Great to have Service From. They are Very Nice, and Friendly. They get the Job Done Every Time. And, now I have signed up for a Service Plan that I can now combine with my Ambient Edge Heating, and Air. This plumber is way too expensive. They have a $69 service call charge and a way high quote. They wanted $1500 to replace a gate valve and regulator. A quote from another plumber was $500. I turned them down but still had to pay the $69. I have to wonder if they actually do plumbing work or just drive around collecting service call charges. read more

They advertise 24 hour service. We called on Monday at 1:15 PM with a leaking water heater. We were told that they could get a plumber here Friday! They said that they only have 1 plumber now and he's booked up until Friday. Maybe if they paid their plumbers instead of spending so much on false advertising they might have more than one plumber. read more

"Your entire house needs re-piping" are not the words one wants to hear Ever! The lead/supervising plumber, Phillip Raczak, explained everything - the problem(s) and the installation, and he elaborated further when I didn't understand a detail. He also moved the main water shutoff from the alley to the garage for convenience. Phillip instilled in me that he AND Travis Mangrum had the knowledge and skills to get the job done right! Travis was here for six days working long hours. I have two indoor cats that had to be taken into consideration (one likes to dart outside), so the cats would be confined to a room whilst Travis worked elsewhere in the house (we collaborated in keeping the cats safe and confined). At the end of each day he explained what was done and if he had any issues (there were none). Travis is a pleasant young man; he's highly skilled, clean, and considerate. When or if I need plumbing help again I will definitely ask for Phillip and Travis to respond - they are that sharp. In regard to pricing it wasn't cheap by any means, but it was the Entire House that was re-piped. read more

my wife is not familiar with plumbing and pricing. I was in jury duty at the court, with no phone. I personally cleared the the under sink drains, traps, garbage disposal/dishwasher lines, so the plumber would not have to. He fished out the 2" kitchen line, as asked, from the outside cleanout to 20 feet. He then ran some water down the sink. $392.00 to snake 20 feet of drain line. Considering driving time that's $400.00 an hour, and I did all the hard work. If this is standard pricing for the area, I won't be calling any Kingman Plumbing companies in the future. read more

Worst plumbers. They quoted us one price. It changed right when they arrived then claimed they couldn't even fix the problem even though they said they could!! They simply wanted more money!!!! Excellent service. They send a reminder the day before one's appointment, call when they are on their way, send a photo of the tech and have a company van. The service is professional and courteous.
