Cue my swimming career coming to an end and real life coming to a start: That's when Dupree came in. I had searched for many personal trainers, but none of them felt right. When I emailed PreeFit and met Dupree for my first *free* consultation, I knew the stars had aligned, and this was the right personal trainer for me. How, you ask? Let me break it down for you... 1. Attitude: Always positive. I am an extremely positive person; always looking at situations half full. Dupree is the same way. He will push you with encouragement and positivity. He has a very "go-getter" and ambitious attitude. I have been training with him for just over a month, and I continue to stay motivated throughout the week thanks to his help and constant positive communication. He always says he would never make you do what he wouldn't do. It's true! He's right there with you training hard and making you feel like you're a team, rather than a one man show. #fam for real tho.. 2. Professionalism: Dupree has a way of making you feel like you've known him for years when you've only known him for three minutes. I felt very comfortable training with him. He is always extremely professional while still maintaining a friendly and funny persona. You girls know what it's like being on that squat rack and needing to be spotted.. well I can assure you, I always feel comfortable having Dupree spot me when I weight lift. It's a coach/mentor relationship that has never wavered. 3. Location: When I first showed up to this gym, I thought I was lost, as it seems to be a very industrial looking area. However, walking in, I was blow away. Everything from ropes and a rock climbing wall, to medicine balls and treadmills. It's not a typical gym, but it has everything you need to get your ass in shape. I have a regular gym membership, but with all the cool new equipment that the PreeFit gym has to offer, I never get bored. 4. Workout/Meal Plan: Our first consultation was free. Huge plus! He makes sure that you're happy with the service you're getting before you have to pay. (whattaguy!) He spent a solid hour with me- getting to know me, my food preferences, my struggles, my workout routine, etc. Everything I would expect an experienced PT would ask, he asked. Within our first fifteen minutes of training, I was already sweating and sore. We did these awesome bicep and tricep exercises during the initial consultation, and, I kid you not, I was sore for 5 *FIVE* days after... Moral of the story: I was craving more and couldn't wait for our first week of training. Personally, I do one 1:1 session and 1 group session per week. Both brutally kick my ass. I am dead afterwards, and that's WITH taking preworkout before hand, peeps! The workouts have absolutely given me gains in all the right places, while still making me look like an old fashioned coke bottle ;) #bootygainsfordays. The meal plan is tailored to your personal eating preferences and he strongly emphasizes it being a lifestyle, rather than some unrealistic, super strict diet you can maybe follow for a day, and then succumb to the delicious poison of Krispy Kremes because you're starving. I had a severe sugar addiction (which is one of the reasons I was looking for a trainer to begin with) and because of his meal plan, I still get my sweet tooth satisfied without the fake processed sugar, AND I don't crave the fake processed sugar anymore! It's amazing. I love love LOVE my workouts and meal plan. 5. Last but not least, Availability: Dupree is always available. ALWAYS. Communication is key in any relationship - so having Dupree always available to contact is amazing! On the first day of my meal plan, he texted me bright and early asking to see a picture of Meal 1. Damn, fam! I was impressed. I text him all the time with questions on food, advice on workouts, and progress pictures. He is definitely someone who encourages constant communication. In addition to communication, he tails time slots for workouts around your schedule. I LOVE working out in the morning. He was nice enough to meet me at 5AM weekly for our 1:1 sessions. (I know I am a little cray with the workout schedule). My point, ladies and gentlemen, is that he caters to you. It allows for a person with the busiest schedule to have time for a workout. I feel like I'm writing a book, but hopefully this novel just proves my point that PreeFit gym and Dupree have made my workout experience better than I could have ever asked. I STRONGLY recommend anyone who is interested in making fitness and health a lifestyle to contact him. He is a great trainer, mentor and friend. In just the month I have trained with him, I am down 8 pounds and 5% body fat! I haven't felt this sexy and healthy in a long time. If I could give him six out of five stars I would. The classes are 9 people max, so it's not crowded. You each have your own station where you have the exercises listed for you to accomplish, demonstrations on how to perform the exercises, guidance on how to perfect your form, and they time it perfectly so that you get each station (there are 3) done in time. I have seen the most positive changes in my body since attending classes here - stronger, toned, and no pain from performing an exercise with bad form. We've trained with Coach John, Trystan, Adam, and Meko so far. All of them are great. We say "they're always watching", because when you're tired and you want to give up, the Coaches swoop in and start encouraging you. I also love that they continually come around, help with our technique, challenge us to lift heavier and work harder. I have a weak lower back and it usually gets sore during certain exercises. But the modifications they show me really help; and it's a become a non-issue. :) I love the exercise timing here compared to other gyms. It's easy to understand, and you get enough time to adjust your weights. Very organized and straightforward. Facility is nice and spacious, equipment is new. They have lockers and storage bins in the lobby; and 2 restrooms, one with a shower. Manager, Noel, is super friendly. He'll even come in and start yelling your name in encouragement. Love it! I saw Self Made nearby, popped in, and asked if I could get a quick workout in. They were incredibly welcoming and let me train, which completely made my day.
