I hired the valley pet sitters to come for an extra day and came home a day later thinking my cats had at least clean glasses of water and extended my trip. I also left a handwritten note by the glasses of Water saying please do two fresh glasses each time of fridge water. When I got home, there was only two glasses used and both were full of slimy bacteria filled water because they were not cleaned or changed out for over a week. I would not have stayed an extra day if I ever thought for a second the note wouldn't have been read or the notes online that say use two fresh glasses that are in a pile of fresh clean glasses right by the fridge. even if I did not leave the note, why would anyone ever think cats would drink slimy bacteria infested water they would choose toilet water over a dirty bowl of water. You should always change the dry food bowls before we're feeling and the dishes of water rinsing is not even good enough, but everyone that knows Cats knows this. You're a bad caretaker for cats. If you give them water in any dirty dish, that's disgusting and rude.

We…read moreusually leave our pets with family and friends when we leave town and didn't know what to expect leaving our puppy with someone we'd never met, but as soon as we walked in and met Laura, all of our worries instantly vanished. The obvious warmth, kindness and adoration for pets was so reassuring, it felt like we were leaving Page with family. Throughout the next 4 days and 3 nights Laura was great about updating us and sending us pictures, and it was clear Page was feeling like she was on vacation too. She even kept up with the commands we've been teaching Page! When we picked her up it was like we never left. Healthy, happy, hyper Page. Believe the reviews!! We would give 10 STARS if we could. It was telling because when we picked the dogs up Danny profusely apologized for what happened which as you can see from the response below is very different then what they say now. High Paw to me has always been a safe place where we could leave the most important "people" to us without any fear. That is such a rare thing to find in the world. What happened last Monday felt like a deep betrayal of that trust. Danny has always been wonderful and we have been leaving our dogs there for several years. He even made sure to care for our sweet dog who was in his last days with such thoughtfulness that they had a fan for life in me. That sadly changed last Monday night when we left them at their new location for a 6 night stay. Even from the drop off- something felt very off- there was very little discussed and the conversations were abrupt and really non- existent. We had our best friends dogs that were also going to be there for the first time for the 6 days, and we recommended high paw without any thought. We were told that the dogs would be well taken care of and we would be updated frequently on how things were going. When we checked in- High Paw didn't ask any questions at all about how much to feed the dogs or their potty habits or walking or anything, which is a big deal for 6 days. We texted them directly after dropping them off just to give them all those details . We didn't receive any response. We followed up a few more times, and everyone (especially the ones that hadn't been there before) grew concerned. We called and no response. Our flight was due to leave in a few hours and we hand t heard anything back. After multiple attempts we finally reached the owner who was defensive and dismissive of our concerns and when we asked questions if they had eaten or gone out this evening- instead of confirming - she told us to come get the dogs in the middle of the night. When we picked them up it was clear that not only had they not been fed (the food hadn't been touched) but they all seemed desperately thirsty. It broke our heart because not only did it torpedo our vacation it broke the trust we had in leaving the ones we love the most with them. We were kind and courteous throughout the entire process and our only concern was for the dogs and just needing some sort of update letting us know they were okay. In the end- it comes down to trust. It takes a long time to create and an instant to break.

It took a few visits for our dog Finn, a 2 yr old, 30 lbs, energetic, chi mix, to fully trust John. John was patient and took the extra time necessary for he and Finn to bond. He was incredibly kind, attentive, and loving with our pups, and it was so obvious how comfortable and happy they were with him. In fact, I think it's safe to say they are now completely obsessed with Rhett. It means so much to us to know they were not just being well cared for, but were getting so much genuine affection and attention while we were gone. Being away from the pups can always make us a little anxious, and Rhett's updates continually reassured us that they were happy, comfortable and in great hands. We were able to actually relax and enjoy our time away because of him. We're grateful to Dog Gone Fitness for continuing their excellent service, and Rhett for being the best friend to Bart & Muffin.

This 6 week trip was the worst- our Airbnb was illegal so we had to move into a hotel during a heatwave where our 3 pups were stuck. With small yorkies or little ones, they can easily have a heatstroke if taken out for 20 min. We then went to a daycare in Thousand Oaks and turned around. We go to a regular daycare in our temp place out of state so I just knew it wasn't safe for my tiny dogs. I fell upon Calabasas Paws Inn and OMG it was next to my hotel - the Hilton Calabasas. Like 30 sec drive. I booked the initial meeting and I was in right away! I have THREE DOGS. You pull up and they come out to the car and here is what you receive: - my texts are answered right away - HAPPY, amazing staff. - quick, responsive and my dogs are eager to go into the daycare - the owner was so helpful when we had to switch our hotel again - they always ALWAYS send photos. We even got a cut in frame photo which we keep in our hotel. - the booking is super easy. - and my dogs ZONK out when they get home I WISH I found this place first. I will always utilize this daycare when we come back every six weeks and when we move back permanently. The place just feels and looks fun and attentive to your dogs. PS- during the 5 hour trial, I booked a nail trim bc my daycare is supposed to do it every 5 weeks and we noticed they were long and curled. Val and the staff actually came out and told me they took care of it and how they did so. I usually would forget which is why their nails were so long.

Always punctual, friendly, and leaves good notes/pictures in the app. Recently, we got married and asked R+D if they had somebody who could come to the wedding and take lead on watching our dogs during the weekend of events. They sent Sonia who was truly amazing at making sure the dogs were included, but also making sure they were well taken care of and not getting overwhelmed. It was really special having our best friends at the wedding, and Sonia made sure that we did not have to worry about them at all so we could just enjoy the weekend. It's not easy to wrangle 170 pounds combined especially when there's a lot of human food around on tables, dropped morsels on the ground, kids running around, and a ton of special people the dogs get excited to see; but Sonia's calm, cool, collected nature transferred to the pups and they were relaxed and well taken care of and had a great time. My walkers are Ben and Anastasiia and they are not only dog lovers but wonderful human beings. Both of my dogs adore them and they are so consistent and reliable. Given all the bad press recently around dog trainers/sitters in LA County, I'm so glad that I have R & D. They are absolutely trustworthy.
