A ceramic tea pot cost $29 without a filter, 20 ginger teas for $ 10 and small plant pot for $ 22. I'll come back here and buy a boxed items with stories behind it. They carried almost all of the merchandise I was looking for for my (hard-to-find gifts for) daughter. Staff (or owner) were friendly and helpful. It can get busy (and crowded) inside so be mindful and tread lightly. There are enough items on the front porch to browse through that it took me at least 20 mins to check them out even before entering the store, which took me even longer inside. Just so much to see. I'm still mad at myself for not picking up the Optical Calcite they have for 4"x2.5"x1" for $4 ($20 most places) They have some very unique crystals I've never heard of, so that was interesting and their jewelry is at a very good price. The two woman I met working at the store were extremely friendly and pretty knowledgable. Which is a big deal when it comes to crystals, you don't want someone giving you the wrong information just to make some money.

I really would have liked to explore The Scottish Loft more, but it's a small place and at the time we visited was very crowded. I wanted to check out the food section for some lemon curd and ginger nuts, but the food was all kept in a very narrow hallway at the back of the store which was totally blocked by an elderly lady with a walking device literally as wide as the hall. Cecile's, however, is quite elegant and refined, with a refined French Provincial ambiance. But unlike many of the neighboring stores with huge price tags on mediocre supposedly "designer" goods, this shop has some nice useful decorations, bric-a-brac, and items for the kitchen that are quite reasonable in price. With Cecile's however, the store remains in business for years, whereas the newer stores that are supposedly "da bomb" frequently have a "going-out-of-business sale" by January after difficulty in paying the huge rents on the main drag in Old Town.

Buyer BEWARE- Manager/Owner doesn't care about Customers…read more My two girlfriends decided to each buy matching pattern poncho's in different colours. To begin, the manager/owner was pushy trying to get us to buy something (after we found the ponchos she was telling us how trendy scarves and other items were and how we should buy) which should have been a huge red flag. The real issue began after I bought my poncho. Seconds after I paid for my poncho, I changed my mind on the colour I had bought and wanted to switch it for a different colour. The new colour I wanted was even more on sale, so instead of a straight exchange I would have been given some money back (talk about a score, I was in retail shopping bliss)! When the cashier realized that there was a price difference she told me that they wouldn't be able to refund me and that I would be given a store credit for the money I was owed. I was shocked, given that I had literally just paid for it. I went straight to the pushy sales woman who turned out to be the manager/store owner. I felt super confident that she'd refund my money since I had just bought the poncho and I wanted a different colour- hey changing your mind on a colour happens, right? To my shock and horror she said NO and then had the audacity to tell me that I should keep the navy colour I didn't like and still buy the new colour that I preferred! Bottom line- the owner is pushy and pretends to care about her customers, yet when real customer service is tested she only cares about the money. Will not be going back and will be telling all of my friends parents who live nearby, to no longer go as well.

It was a good thing they were decently priced because as I started to count my fingers on how many family members and co-workers I wanted to buy gifts for they started to add up quickly. When I try to turn up... my wallet says hold up! LoL! They had the most amazing selection of fudge, so many flavors including the Ice Wine fudge... I did not buy any, I was afraid of my sugar skyrocketing. but, wait! they have more than just fudge. They sold Maple products too from pure maple syrup to maple cookies to maple flavored coffee and more! Purchased a few of those maple syrup in the maple-shaped glass containers. So cute! Btw, their homemade fudge are made in copper kettles, the old fashioned way. The ambiance was the aroma of fresh fudge. I tried the ice wine chocolate and bought a bar. Ice wine is a dessert wine made from grapes frozen on the vine. Really good! It was fun looking around this shop. Great service! The samples were tiny but divine. Of COURSE we had to buy some fudge! (This is a VERY DANGEROUS store). I chose half a slab of the maple fudge and half a slab of the cookies and cream fudge. Both were amazing but the maple was really phenomenal. I also got some large caramel blocks, half of which were enrobed in dark chocolate, and the other half in milk chocolate. (I gave these as gifts but was told they were fabulous). In addition to the many, many flavors of fudge that they make in-house daily, they also have lots of other sweet treats: jars and jars of gummies and penny candies and chocolate raisons or nuts, hard candy sticks in all sorts of flavors and colors, hard candies in decorative tins, licorice and All-Sorts, etc. I felt like a kid in a candy store here. Literally. And I loved it!

It gets a five from me because it's really quite a pleasure to browse around in and the prices are very reasonable. My wife loves sea-themed anything, so I bought a framed picture of a seashell for her as well as a little stone with hand carvings of sea-things. The woman (Jane, who is also one of the owners) behind the counter was very helpful in helping me find these things and wrapped them up like a pro. If you're gift shopping, especially for someone who has some sort of connection to Youngstown, I don't think there is a better place to go. It's open year round too.
