Cozy local wine bar with small plates. They also have flights if you're unsure of what wine you want to commit to lol. Comfortable chairs a little bar very educated staff and wine to go. They do have some non-alcoholic choices. Definitely a fun place to go for a drink after work or on a date with your significant other.

Excellent ambiance and pretty good charcuterie. Loved the white wine by the glass so much that I forgot what it was!

Nice and big and just that old town feel. Takes you back to the late 1800's or early 1900's. Plenty of cold beer options and decent wine list. And fair prices - tip just buy the bottle of wine. It's a deal. Service was great as well. We didn't order any food but some interesting options. This place is certainly worth stopping in while you're downtown shopping.

Fantastic Gem in Downtown Smithville!…read more If you're craving tapas flair with an intimate, cozy vibe, the Front Room is a must-visit. Styled like a Scottish pub--complete with a warm fireplace and plush leather chairs--this bar-tapas hybrid delivers elevated comfort in every sip and bite. Food & Drinks: * The menu is a delightful mix of small plates and satisfying mains. We couldn't get enough of the spinach‑artichoke dip, perfectly crisp pot stickers, and their indulgent boursin cheese spread (gluten free version available). * Their wine list and artisan cocktails are both creative and robust--perfect after a long day. Bonus: their rotating craft beers round it all off nicely. Vibe & Service: * The atmosphere hits the sweet spot--not too rowdy, not too quiet. Great for conversations, group gatherings, or date night. * Staff are relaxed, but attentive--felt like old friends bringing me comfort food and thoughtful pours. Events & Extras: * They frequently host live music--from regional acts to indie favorites--bringing lovely local energy. * Pet‑friendly patio setup is a big plus for dog owners--one reviewer even mentioned the owner greeting their dachshund. Overall: A solid 4.6-4.8 star crowd-pleaser on review sites, and for good reason. The Front Room Wine Bar is the perfect blend of upscale bar meets hometown charm. Whether you're winding down after Saturday shopping, catching local tunes, or just need a cozy spot for wine and chat--this place checks every box. Highly recommended!

Family and animal very friendly. Bring everyone! Very casual and relaxing with live country music on Saturdays. Music - when we were there- was not too loud. David Touchton was in stage. He was fantastic! If you get a chance to see/hear him sing... you really should. One man band but he is just that good. Now back to the Rising Sun. I particularly enjoyed the watermelon and pear accentuated wines. Very different and fun. Hubby really liked the "Barbarian" red. The food menu includes tacos, pizzas, burgers, and a few sharable dishes like hatch chili skillet enchiladas, wings, charcuterie board etc. It is all self service. Everyone is very nice.

We were greeted with friendly hellos, but more importantly, so many people, patrons and employees, greeted our pup! Our pup was so excited! You could tell how special she felt. We ordered from Allie, who is an absolute ROCKSTAR! After telling Allie our preferences, she suggested wine that we normally wouldn't have tried, but boy, does she know her stuff! We started with the "Spirit of the Vine" and a smokey red flight. After Allie's white wine suggestion, I fully trusted her to pick my white wine flight and she did an amazing job! We mentioned that we were on a family camping trip and she sold us on the port wine they make. I usually dislike ports, but this one was just like sitting by the fire eating a s'mores! Smooth, not overly sweet, and soooo good! We sat by the winery's back window and chatted with other patrons. We loved how beautiful the winery was; complete with a cold and hot water station, and to honor those for Memorial Day they had a remembrance table. We can't stop talking about Water 2 Wine. We sincerely hope we get to visit again. Thank you for incredible service and delightful wine.

I figured if I was going to buy bottles anyway I might as well be a member. Looking forward to going back and trying more.
