Check in process is difficult as the check in website needs to be improved. A large degree of patience is needed to get through the check in process. But the Doctor and medical staff here are great: honest, competent, and lots empathy for the children. Came in this place to get a 2nd opinion for my child's seasonal illness. Doctors are great but front desk staff suck ass. If I take the time to schedule an appointment and fill out the registration via your own application, you shouldn't be asking me for insurance information. My kids have been here several times, even their medical information should automatically populate. Front desk staff refused to provide her name and walked away. I asked to pay my copayments and it's like the first time I'm ever in the facility. Insane. I had the worst experience with the receptionist! Specifically LUNA. Please provide more training to your staff at the front desk. I was there yesterday with my 2 year old child who had a dislocated elbow. After checking in and waiting for about five minutes without any assistance, I started calling out for help in hopes that someone in the back would hear me and come to my aid. When Luna came out she said "You don't need to scream, can you see that the place is open because the lights and the TV is on so the place is open. Respect goes both ways!" I explained that I was only calling out because there was no one at the front desk and I have a sick baby. She then said "Seriously you are go to keep at this? Did you checked it?" I told her I checked in but she could not find my appointment. After several more exchanges I finally said "I hope that you can understand that I am a mother with a sick baby that just needed help" she just rolled her eyes and told me to sit down and when I asked for the manager she told me that she will not be in until 11:00am. After paying my copay, Luna then asked to return my recipe to her because she processed the receipt wrong. She then told me to sit down and she ultimately did not give me any receipt. When I asked for her name she refused to give me her name and told me again to go sit down. With all that said, when I checked into the facility, the check in the system showed there was no one on the waitlist but Luna told me that the doctor was tending to someone with a laceration inside and that I had to wait for an unknown period of time. All in fairness the doctor was great and tended to my child's arm which took matter of minutes to adjust but keep in mind no child left the facility since I entered the facility and it took roughly 30 minutes before my baby was seen. As I departed, I again asked for the manager in which Luna said that the manager will not be in until 12:00. I again asked for her name and that was when she reluctantly said "Luna, L.U.N.A." I understand that any Pediatric Urgent care would be dealing with distressed parents regularly but she never asked me why I was there or what I needed or even calm the situation. This is not the type of customer service I would expect from a fast food chain so why at a place where I am honestly most vulnerable with my child? Again, I urge that you reconsider the values that you bring to your staff and to provide better strategy to better training your staff in customer service. read more

She did not want to prescribe anything to relieve symptoms either - just told us to drink honey and buy drugs over the counter. If I could just buy from the pharmacy, what do I even have insurance for? Why would I even need to come here? I would give them 0 stars. I made an appointment for my five year old, he had a bad cough that wasn't going away. We decided to take him here since it was a weekend (and his original doctor doesn't open on weekends).... We waited more than and hour because the receptionist decided to help a person on the phone (after I arrived) for over 30mins and never even put in that we had arrived before hand. When we finally got called in the nurse seemed nice and concerned over what I was telling her about my son, but the doctor was horrible. She barely even checked him, gave us a whole textbook explanation about allergies Never gave my son any medication. Told me to go to the pharmacy and buy regular medicine for cough. I was better off going to the ER. When Monday arrived we took my son to his regular doctor and he ended up having a bad ear infection and now is on five medications. I've been to PM pediatrics twice in two years. The first time I went when my baby was a newborn and I was a first time mom freaking out. Both times that I have been there the service has been very prompt and friendly. I've called ahead and they told me I can walk in or schedule a time online which is pretty convenient. Last time I saw a PA but during this second visit I made a request to see an actual MD, no offense to my PA out there but I'm crazy when it comes to health matters! The rest of this review is based on my last visit with Dr. Spivey. Let me just start by saying if she was a doctor a regular office near me I would totally bring my toddler to her all the time. She was precise, patient and thorough. She took her time to answer all my questions and even though my toddler was giving her a hard time she was so kind and always smiling. It makes such a difference when you deal with someone who is so genuine especially with a sick baby. I'm so happy that she took care of my baby. She made great suggestions on how to make my baby comfortable and instead of handing me a paper when discharging us, she took the time to explain every single step! I highly recommend requesting her if you have to bring in your sick child. read more

Very unprofessional staff. I am more confused then ever on my diagnosis. The doctor was unhelpful, the nurse was in a terrible nasty mood she didn't check my temperature nothing. I felt super dismissed by the staff, the doctor gave me the most random diagnosis without checking for anything based off my experiences and what I was telling her. She proceeds to say " you may have" this and that without performing any examinations on me or tests! Practically rushed me out and I left without any answers and confused more than ever. This is not how you treat patients, your better off attending a different location where you will receive answers and adequate care. read more

As good as it gets when you need a Pediatrician quickly. Their staff is always friendly and informative. Once you check in once, your child's information is saved. Easy to use with their website/app to electronically take a place in line even hours ahead. The doctors are always so nice and explain everything thoroughly. Most importantly they are so easy going with the kids. They also follow up with you a day or two after. We used them for fevers, cough, stomach bugs and even removing a pen cap in a nose I'm sure we will find other ways (common and uncommon) to visit them. read more

I have never experienced level of care quite this good at an urgent care and I appreciate their professionalism and beside manner. My teenager was complaining of chest pain and the physician took it very seriously, as a precaution recommended that we goto the ER (which she called ahead to notify them of our arrival) little touches like that make all the difference and set this urgent care apart from others. Came here with my 4 month old daughter because she was making weird noises. We were scared she was having respiratory issues and wanted her to get checked out. There was a lot of parking is was a plus. I live closer to the forest hills location but I didn't want to struggle for parking. There is also a Duane Reade in the same shopping center which is helpful. We walked in and it was empty which was perfect because of the coronavirus we are so nervous to be around people. They accepted our daughters insurance and were called pretty quickly. They said only one parent can go into the room which upset my boyfriend but I understood with the craziness due to coronavirus. The medical assistant was nice and my crazy daughter peed while her temperature was being taken. However, the medical assistant was nice and understanding about it. The doctor then came and checked out my daughter. She checked her ears, lungs and throat. She gave great advice and put me at ease. Staff is rude and unfriendly... never any diagnosis... better off waiting on your own Dr or going to real ER with educated Dr and staff... what a disappointment... actually told not only myself but another mother they would refuse medical attention unless credit cards were left on file... when asked for a written policy they provided a sheet with a objection dialogue... they did later provide a policy but it did state that a one time refusal was allowed... I was willing to pay any fees I did not want my card left on file... I don't leave my card on file for anything... to refuse medical care when a child is hurting is disgusting!!! read more

My son broke out in a rash. His pediatrician is closed today and tomorrow. I brought him here and the doctor immediately diagnosed him with impetigo and quickly sent antibiotics prescription to my pharmacy. The wait wasn't long at all, and they were very clean. I'm very happy with them and I'm super happy they're open until midnight. They really helped ease my concerns for my little one. read more

First time clients of PM Pediatrics. My husband and I took our 1 year old son for recurrent fevers. We chose this location not only for the parking but also because of the reviews. I understand that there will always be mixed reviews so we took our chances. The first thing we noted was that the place was VERY clean. Hand sanitizers, flu masks, and tissues were available around the lobby. It was quite busy when we arrived so the wait was as expected. The check in process was quick and I loved that there wasn't paperwork to fill out. The NP that saw my son was great. She explained our son's diagnosis and answered all of our questions. Very thorough and understanding. I would have given this facility 5 stars if it weren't for the rude, female assistant who showed us to our room. We are first time parents who have a sick son and the last thing we needed was someone with very poor customer service. I get that it's late and being around sick children and their concerned families can get tiring but it does not give you the right to be unprofessional. Otherwise, I would definitely return if we desperately need to seek medical attention after hours. read more

I have visited pm Pediatrics more then I have liked with my kids. I've been there for a burn, fevers/colds, pulled out (nursemaid) elbow, and a laceration near the eye. Pros: easy to get to, quick service (not long wait times), friendly not scary atmosphere with fun animals, parking, open late My experiences with two specific incidents: Several times I've been there I've received less than satisfactory results. For fevers they will just put your mind at ease - esp if you're a first time parent and give you generic brand fever medication (I think it's worth it to go for that if your worried just for the peace of mind with high fevers) I have gone for a pulled out elbow and they tried many times and were not able to pop it in but it seemed like my child was better (my baby was just doing her best at doing what she was told despite it hurting a lot) we were sent home with false hope that it was in or better and she went the entire day and slept with a bad elbow. The next day after watching multiple you tube videos popped it back in ourselves. Was it worth the peace of mind? Well if it worked but it didn't work and was highly distressing for my child- like hysterical and very stressful crying/screaming. Maybe I just got someone who wasn't good at that, well two people tried and "did it" but my poor kid was hurting and dealing with the pain and I was sent home thinking it was fine and resolved when it was not. For the laceration near her eye. I went to get it glued to minimize scarring. The physician that glued it was very inexperienced and filled in the cut with glue and did not glue the skin together like it should. I hesitated to question her as I didn't want to hurt her feelings or make her upset but I brought it up and was given a lot of excuses and she offered to do it again-- which i considered cause it looked bad and was a total waste of our time and putting our child is so much fear and stress but I thought that trying to use rubbing alcohol and taking off the already set glue to try it again with her skills and now prob a little aggravated since I brought it up would be not good. I took photos and sent to a dr friend and a PA friend who both confirmed it was a crappy job. When she said she was done I was surprised because it was so clearly a bad job! My child was still for the glueing and I was watching what the physician was doing. Instead of pulling the skin the other way to draw the sides together she just bathed the open wound with the purple glue and then tried to pinch the skin together but it was already dried and crusted (what the :&$&/$:!!! ). It just filled in the wound with now hardened and clumpy glue and has made me really upset and stressed about how it will heal and I'm wondering if I had just made it worse by having her seen by that person. Perhaps I could have just used the surgical tape I bought at cvs and taped the laceration closed myself. I appreciate the convenience of a pediatric urgent care that is local and open late but unfortunately I don't know if you'll get the most skilled professionals or best care. I'm sure more senior and experienced physicians move on to "better" jobs but I wanted to share my review in case it helps someone have some realistic expectations in case they have to go for something similar. I just question the training they have, because it's pretty much on the job training on your kid, without much training or experience obvious... I'm very upset about this. An update a month later- it looks terrible!! The filling in with the glue prevented the skin to fuse together! There is a significant scar and a hole where the glue filled in PREVENTING it from being able to heal! I'm so dissatisfied. I also had left a message that was never returned. read more

Not all PM Pediatrics are created equal. While I've been to a few PM Pediatrics I wasn't quite fond of this location. Came here on Monday, with a sick infant. There were just 2 people before me and no other patients in the office. We waited for nearly 25 minutes before we were even called to have our information collected. It took over an hour to be seen and taken care of when the office was very skeletal. After we were seen, we waited quite a while for the discharge papers. The doctor who saw my son, clearly forgot about us as she tended to another patient that came in after us. One of the staff saw how uncomfortable my baby was in our arms and how long we had been waiting for our discharge papers. She was kind enough to get the process started when the doctor finally realized we were just standing there and waiting like buffoons. All other PM Pediatrics have called a day or two later to check in on our children's condition, except for this one. I am quite impressed with the PM Pediatrics in Carle Place and while it's a little more of a trekk to get out there, I much more prefer it over this location in Bayside. read more

Huge parking Lot ... Late hours with a incredible staff. PM Pediatrics definitely makes it easier on me as a parent. I been here a few times & never had to wait more then 10 minutes for my kids to be seen by a doctor. With a comfortable waiting area & a huge flat screen with SpongeBob playing.. Not to mention the extra detail they put into the jungle theme decor, for kids to feel extra comfortable. While in the private rooms waiting for a test result to come back or just taking vitals, there is a TV inside the room to make sure your kids will always be entertained & comfortable. The doctors has all been extremely nice & informative. The best part is that they always give my little girl a sticker. Thank God for PM Pediatrics or I would probably be, in a hospital for hours waiting to see a doctor. The pain a parent feels when there child is sick is unexplainable. Dr. Nicole Porti is AMAZING. Very seldom do I come home from anywhere thinking "I have to go on Yelp and review that place!" Thats exactly what has been going through my mind since I left. I am a first time mom, I get super nervous over the smallest things- but for the first time last night my 4 month old baby girl had a fever. We brought her to PM pediatrics to have her checked out for a possible ear infection. I was literally seen within 5 minutes of arriving. Amazing staff. I asked the physician if she worked anywhere else because I would LOVE to replace my pediatrician with her. I felt more comfortable and welcome by her in three minutes then I ever had at my daughter pediatrician. They give you a print up with discharge information better then some I have received in emergency rooms. The facility itself is huge and well designed. They have equipment to run blood and urine tests on the spot as well as x-ray machines for more serious cases. There hours are amazing. Perfect alternative to an emergency room. I know I will be coming back here in the future if I ever need a doctor for my baby girl after hours! read more

This place is great. Doctor Priya and Helen are amazing. They genuinely care about their jobs and the patients. It shows with how attentive they are. The receptionist is efficient and kind. Also the nurses are awesome too! They explain what they will do and help to keep me calm. I've been here three times recently. Twice for covid testing which had little to no wait because I went on a weekday and I got results back the next day. (Not guaranteed to get results back the next day but I was lucky). Another most recent time for strep and they were amazing! Wait was longer because it was a Sunday and that's just how it is. They serve patients up to 26 years old which I appreciate. Thank you for the great service! I hope I won't have to come again but if I do need to see a doctor this is the first place I go to. read more

This place is a wonderful place to take your children. The check in can be done online and it was super easy. They even tell you what place in line your in but it didn't matter because everything moved quite fast. Dr.Shannon was the doctor who saw my son and she was really awesome . Everyone was super polite... they diagnosed him and got his meds ordered within minutes. Even now I continue to get follow up text notifying me of any info I need to be aware of. This is how it should be done everywhere IMHO. Glad I took my son here. read more

What a great facility. Had to bring my 2 month old in the middle of the night and we were taken care of immediately and efficiently. The practice is very warm and inviting both in the reception area as well as the interior examination area. In take at reception was very straight forward and fast and even taking vitals from the medical assistant staff was effortless. The doctor and PA staff were very warm and explained everything in layman terms. They sent us off with great detailed instructions about what to do at home for our son and also with plenty of samples. I highly recommend this facility over any hospital emergency room for any non life threatening emergencies. read more

Everyone is rude and miserable at this office that even children are scared of them. I'm surprised they are a pediatric office given that they don't seem to like kids very much. The doctor who finally saw us after a long wait misdiagnosed my child. It turns out it was pneumonia... Had we gone to a good doctor, my child would not be suffering so much. One crazy evening, my son got some weired chest pain. Upon a push from my mom, we took him to the local hospital emergency room. Once they assess his triage and find it negative, we were sent to the waiting room to wait. As I look around and I began to calm down, I remember my pediatrician recommended PMP. I look on google and there was one 3 miles away. Did not do much convincing for us parents and I called. The receptionist was very nice and told us there is no appointment needed. We arrived within minutes, and the place was clean and it is very obvious where we need to go. We got my son registered quickly. Within 10 minutes, he has his vitals checked. Another 10, a very nice doctor came in. She did here usual OPQRS and did a few ONE ... and I remembered my son had been doing lots of push ups. Mystery solved. We were very glad the whole ordeal was over within the hour instead of five or more at some hospital - where easily they could had charged us twice as much and run up twice as much test. This is a place to go if my kids ever have anything before jumping to conclusion and have to wait in a hospital! read more

Second visit in about a year. Both times, WOW is all I can say. Wish I had this care at my childrens pediatricians office. Everything from the staff who checked us in to the Physician Assistant who saw us, to the Doctor who came becasue the PA wanted her opinion was flawless. Actually seemed to care and spent plenty of time to address our concerns on a Sunday. Bottom line, this place is great. Super clean too. Its simple, most pediatrician offices do not care becasue they have a ton of "customers" they treat like cattle. Here, they know if the service isnt up to par they will not survive. My son became sick over the weekend. Unfortunately his pediatrician doesn't have weekend hours. Several local parents suggested we try PM Pediatrics and I'm so glad we did. From the moment we entered their fun waiting area, my son was excited. Suddenly he wasn't feeling quite as sick as he'd been. He was eager to run around and check out all the animals. The triage nurse was friendly and quick and maintained her cool when my son began fighting against having his temp taken, etc. The doctor was also friendly and quick. My son was diagnosed as having an ear infection, which we suspected. He was given an anti-nausea medicine as he was having trouble keeping any food down for several days and we were discharged with a prescription for antibiotics. All in all I found the office to be very pleasant; the staff was friendly and quick and we didn't spend all day being seen. This is a major plus when you have a fairly uncooperative toddler who is not feeling well. I would absolutely return if we found ourselves needing a pediatrician on our doctor's "off hours". I highly recommend PM Pediatrics. read more
