I have been a patient at this practice for over 10 years. I originally switched providers after experiencing inappropriate comments about my body from a previous doctor, and until today I had never had an issue here. While waiting in the exam room, I was feeling anxious and warm (it was over 80 degrees outside), so I pulled my hoodie off one shoulder to cool down. When the doctor entered the room with what appeared to be two nurses in training, the very first thing he said to me was, "Cover yourself up appropriately." I was completely taken aback and embarrassed by this comment. It immediately made me feel judged and ashamed, and I found it difficult to focus on the rest of the appointment because I was so upset. No patient should be made to feel uncomfortable or shamed about their appearance, especially in a medical setting where they should feel safe and respected. After more than a decade as a patient, this encounter completely shattered the trust and sense of respect I believed existed between myself and this practice. Unfortunately, because of how I was treated, I will not be returning to this practice. For context, I have attached a photo showing how I was dressed at the time. Coughing my lungs out and sat in the examine room for 45 minutes while they let other patients skip ahead of me talking about her eating healthy but gaining weight through their thin walls. There was only one patient ahead of me and I've have heard and counted at least 3 patients pass and gone Zero control zero care and zero privacy as I listen to their conversation "I eat very healthy, I used to be skinny and beautiful young lady now I am fat" lady this is urgent care!!!! Came with my 92 year old grandmother who fell at church and potentially broke her right wrist. We called beforehand because my grandmother did not bring her bag with insurance information and somebody told us we could bring her insurance later or provide it next day. I had my 3 month old son also in this urgent situation. 1) Receptionist said they couldn't do anything until they had the insurance cards (at least pictures). We had the ID numbers and social. I even told them if the insurance doesn't cover it I'll definitely pay them for services. 2) there was a gentleman sitting in the waiting area who yelled out he needed to take the PCR covid test because he tested positive for rapid test. I quickly moved my son to the opposite side of the waiting area but the seats are pretty close to each other. 3) though everybody was masked, there was more than 6 people in the waiting room at any given time. 4) they sent in a bunch of other people to be seen before my grandmother (I had to leave to pick up her insurance information from her home) If you have an actual urgent situation, don't come here. read more

Came here after a major fall down the stairs resulting in head trauma which I am still having issues with a year later, by the way. The intake person was nice, but the place is small and I could hear the intake person telling the doctor my case and I heard the doctor go, "UGHHHHH WHYYYYYYYYYY" among other negative statements about how stupid this was before talking about eating donuts and then eventually coming in to see me. She was nice to my face but I had heard her already. Needless to say I have sought care elsewhere who have treated me FAR better than here. Otherwise I do come here from time to time for COVID-19 PCR testing since they will do them without giving me a hard time unlike other urgent care places, and everyone who does them is nice, but if you have an actual medical issue I would avoid at all costs. read more

I can't write a review about the other regular doctors/staff there but let me tell you about a Dr. Jennings. My friend went in to urgent care well because she needed urgent care. I don't know what Dr. Jennings ate that day or what he experienced earlier in the day or in his life, but that does not justify his condescending attitude towards patients. NOT everyone has an MD after their name, NOT everyone KNOWS what to do in certain situations BUT patients do HOPE to receive respectable treatment and advice from their DOCTOR. Northern Urgent Care - please train your DOCTORS to have just a little bit more compassion in their care. As for reference to Dr. Jennings, if you're reading this, here's a little reminder of the Hippocratic Oath you once said, "I will remember that there is art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon's knife or the chemist's drug... If I do not violate this oath, may I enjoy life and art, respected while I live and remembered with affection thereafter. I was very sick and were keep coughing on and on with losing voice for a month. Before I go to urgent care I called my doctor to see if I could see her first but the receptionist told me to go emergency room. I decided to go to northern urgent care after hearing from a friend that this place you don't need to make an appointment and just walk in. The receptionist was very helpful and everything but the doctor I seen that day was named DR. Zhang I been to this location 3 times! And all that three time I went was because I was keep having the same symptoms which it got worser! First of all I don't have any problem breathing! But they prescribed me an inhaler! Allergy medicine. They prescribed me all these medicine. I asked my doctor if I needed to take these medicine which they gave me from urgent care and she was like if you don't have asthma dont need to take the inhaler. She said stop taking all the medicine that they prescribed me. The doctor zhang I dont think he knows what's he's doing. Very disappointment with that doctor! The nicest staff and even nicer drs. The wait can be a bit long at times, but that's because they are very thorough and take their time with their patients. The dr stayed with me till all my questions and concerns were addressed. At many urgent care centers, the drs/nurses/physicians assistance seem to be in a hurry. Understand that they want to see as many patients as hey can. That was not the case at this place. They were very thorough and I did not feel rushed at all. They even call and checkup on you till you feel better. They are also located conveniently next to a pharmacy that stays open later than most pharmacies around, so that makes it even more convenient if you need a prescription filled. I took my nine-year-old son here. He ran a very high fever all night. I could not get his temperature to go down despite giving him over-the-counter medicines like Tylenol and Motrin. Luckily, there was no one there, so the wait time was OK. The intake person was also the receptionist who does not have any medical knowledge basically asked all the questions then 10 minutes later, the doctor comes in with someone else. No introduction, no nothing. He looked like he just woke up from bed and got dressed in the dark and came to work. He basically tells his colleague something about flu, proceeds to tell her to send prescriptions for flu meds. he does not say a word to me , does not ask me a single question, did not check my son. then I finally spoke up and said he has the flu? Only then he spoke and proceeded to check my son's lungs and throat. He spent total of 3 minutes then asked if I wanted to go to the next-door pharmacy I said OK then I sat in the waiting room for another good 15 minutes with my sick son who's shivering and burning a fever. I get out of the room to see what's going on. I hear all these commotions, laughing and giggling and all the staff just chilling then I asked what's next for me and they're like oh you could go to the pharmacy and pick up your meds now. I said this is ridiculous and stupid! Why did you make me wait all this time for no reason then? she proceeded to tell me: "don't come back next time!" and she ran to the reception area, and said she's red marking my profile. I don't know what this means and also, I forgot to mention when the receptionist didn't take my son's weight, they were like oh, someone to yell at today.! I just have to say you're in the healthcare business! Have some empathy and some compassion and maybe just a bit professionalism! Also it doesn't cost you money to consult your patients. Been there a few times; once for a fall and a few times for COVID exams. For the fall, I thought I broke my elbow but the doctor there took a brief look at it and said I was fine. When I asked if I needed an x-ray, she said "do you think you need one?" Shouldn't an xray have been taken as one of the first things when a patient says "I think my elbow might be broken"? For covid tests, the process is all messed up. People waiting outside, only to come inside to fill out a form and wait or process rapid test payments. I want to thank Dr. Hae Lee and the staff at UMD Care. My knee was very swollen, filled with fluid and I was having trouble walking. Dr Lee did an amazing job of providing me relief by removing the fluid. After an X-ray to rule out anything broken or torn, Dr Lee proceeded to aspirate my knee with guided ultrasound. It took a while because there was a lot of fluid. Dr. Lee made me feel at ease and was cautious and confident as well as thorough, very professional and patient. One can tell that Dr. Lee is a very skilled doctor. The staff are very polite, professional and thorough as well. I highly recommend Dr. Lee and UMD!! First thing i want to say is that Dr. Sinha is an excellent doctor but she's leaving at the end of the month. I'm sure she'll be missed. My uncle went in for the first time a month ago and he was having trouble breathing, had a chronic cough with no fever. But because of COVID-19 and his reg dr wasn't available, we decided to visit UMD. Dr. Sinha was very patient, thorough and knowledgeable. She immediately gave him a COVID-19 test(was negative)and called in a few prescriptions to his pharmacy. He felt much better after taking them but we did go to a pulmonary dr soon after and he diagnosed his condition and gave him regimented med. So we had to go back again within a few weeks after again for an unrelated injury. And again Dr. Sinha came to the rescue. She took care of the problem and explained everything to us and ordered another test to check on the injury. We returned today and she explained the results. She was very thorough! If you don't have a primary care doctor or your doctor only work some days, an off-hour walk-in clinic is usually the next best thing before the emergency room. Conveniently located near the Q12/Q13 bus stop, this clinic takes: 1199, Aetna, Affinity, Amerigroup, Cigna, Elderplan, Empire/ Blue Cross Blue Shield, Fidelis, GHI, Healthplus, Health Net, HIP, Magnacare, Medicare, Oxford, PHS, and offers government rates if you don't have insurance. Well, my doctor is off on Saturdays, so it was off to the clinic I go! The wait wasn't too long, maybe about 15-20 minutes on a Saturday morning. Bathroom was clean, nurses were nice, and Dr. Ko was great. Maybe I might be comparing this clinic to another urgent care one on Northern in Bayside, but this one takes the cake. The only improvement I would suggest would be to increase seating in the waiting area (there's only 8 seats total). read more

I brought my mom here because she was having pain and I'm super satisfied with the way the urgent care center handled everything. They took blood tests, and referred her to go get an ultrasound done. Whenever I had questions about certain exams, or results of an exam, the front staff/person who picked up the phone was more than willing to help. He remembered my mom's name and was able to make things personal as opposed to other urgent care centers. They do have parking in the basement. I'm not entirely sure where but there is a sign when you go inside the urgent care regarding the parking lot. read more

This review is for the amazing care of Dr. Patrick Ko. If you find yourself needing urgent care, hopefully he's the doctor in the office. I came to him for chest pains and painful breathing. He took all the necessary exams, including an EKG, and diagnosed me with costochondritis, inflamed chest wall from a strain. I greatly appreciate his bedside manners, genuinely listening to the patient and dispensing his medical knowledge. Even after our already thorough visit, while paying at the receptionist's desk, he came out to talk to me, going into greater depth about my acute injury. He didn't go into hiding after our visit, but was readily available for follow-up questions. Even with a waiting room of other patients, he provides unrivaled individualized care. See him if you ever find yourself in need of care; he'll get you better in no time, or try his damnedest to do so. read more

Do not go here if you want accurate covid testing...It is day 6 and still do not have covid results from a test that was supposed to be 3-5 days..Biorefence labs states it takes only 72 hours unless delay from urgent care. Urgent care is not delivering them quickly. Urgent care reply states its an unfortunate event. Its laziness on their part and inaccurate testing they are sitting in office and should be tested soon after not days later!!! Had to get a rapid and they ask for additional money for convenience. After waiting for 1/2 hour still had to call for results despite telling me i would get a text...No regards for patient. read more

Clean office. Receptionists were nice and helpful. I was seen right away within 10min after filling out the necessary paperworks. After he examined me and deemed i needed a specialist's opinion, Dr. Koslov went above and beyond to contact the nearest gastroenterologist for me which took me right after I got discharged. Leaving a review for Dr. Minjung. She's been courteous every time I visited for the covid testing. She answered all the questions I had politely and professionally. She always asked if I was okay in every step of the testing including the antibody testing. It's a frustrating time for all of us and reassurance and encouragement is so important for the patients. I want to thank Dr. Minjung for that. The reason I left out a star is because I had another female doctor (don't know her name) who was the total opposite. It sounded like she was sick and tired of repeating the same drill to the patients. I told her I had some questions and she answered me "Yeah, what's up" which I was taken aback because it was an important question relating to my other doctor appointments. It was definitely not a great experience which made me realize how wonderful Dr. Minjung was. read more

I was treated so well with friendly and helpful staff! I want to say that Dr Sinha was very knowledgeable as well as attentive when I explain what was my complains. My first time here. I went in with an ear infection. Everyone is friendly and they make you feel welcomed. The doctor (Dr. Choong I think) was very kind and knowledgeable did what he was supposed to do and put in for me prescription quick. With coronavirus being all over the news everyone is overly cautious. I was out last week with a head cold for 3 days and the job now requires that we get medical clearance in order to return. I know that I am no longer contagious, and verified by the dr. who checked me out, but I understand the over caution. UMD Urgent Care was great. I went in, joked with the receptionist and was seen by dr probably within 20 min. This urgent care was extremely reasonable in price ($125 for uninsured) and the wait was reasonable. I called other urgent care places and CityMD wanted $200 for uninsured, while another local Forest Hills clinic wanted $100 but there would be a 2 hr. wait. I decided to drive to Aburndale which took 15 min and easy parking. Very happy and I got the letter to go back to work! Call ahead and ask to see how long the wait is...if too long, go to another clinic. I recommend UMD b/c I had a very pleasant experience. read more

I was seen by Dr. Koh last year and had such a wonderful experience that as soon as I needed an urgent care this year I knew exactly where to go, which alleviates a lot of stress when you need medical care. This time I saw Dr. Zhang who was also incredible! I needed stitches and he did an amazing job, really took his time, and kept an impeccable sterile field. They saw to almost me immediately, within 10 minutes of sitting down after filling out the form. The receptionist was pretty nice, and the nurses especially were very kind. They made me feel very comfortable and I felt like I was listened to. The whole time, any tests or procedures, they explained what they would do beforehand and made sure I was comfortable before proceeding. Any question I had, my nurse was able to answer. They just had terrific bedside manner. I didn't catch his name but my experience with the doctor was short, sweet, and straightforward (as I only had a minor issue). My family and I are really thankful for Dr. Zhang, Jay, Tae, Grace and another male physician assistant's help during a late night urgent care visit last week in late January. My father injured his hand severely one night and we arrived shortly before 9pm, before closing. Despite the late hour and the severity of the injury, the entire team stayed late to help him. Dr. Zhang and his team were incredibly patient and caring with my father who is a senior citizen and was probably in a bit of shock that evening. We found out after the visit that although they could have sent him to the ER given the severity and late hour, Dr. Zhang and his team went above and beyond in making sure he was taken care of in that visit even though it delayed their closing by a few hours. Dr. Zhang and his team did a fantastic job in stitching him up (requiring about 18 stitches) and even helped us find a 24 hour pharmacy nearby (CVS) for the medication he needed that same night. We were incredibly thankful because we had no idea how long the ER wait would have been and were concerned with potentially exposing him to COVID risks given his age and his underlying conditions, which I believe Dr. Zhang understood without us even mentioning it. The whole team stayed until well after 11pm to make sure he was taken care of and even had him come back twice (it has been only a week since the initial visit) to make sure things were healing well and to have him take x-rays of his hand. We are so thankful to have found this UMD location and to have come across Dr. Zhang and his team that same evening. It was such a relief to know we were in good hands and it was clear the entire staff genuinely cared and took care of him as if he were their own family member. Thank you again! Unfriendly staff. Only reason I continued to got here was Dr. Ostrowski who was very thorough and pleasant to deal with. He has unfortunately left this place. Judging by the attitude of the people who work here, I don't blame him. I'm a regular patient here. I had an accident over the weekend. In pain and concerned that my ribs were broken or fractured, I walked in and asked the girl at the front desk if they have an X-ray machine. She replied in a tone as if some random showed up in her store asking to use the bathroom: "Sorry, our x-ray machine is broken". With this type of attitude, good luck getting my family's business again. Now that urgent care centers are a dime a dozen, find another place with a friendlier more pleasant staff with high enough IQ to recognize and remember who their regular patients are. read more

This is where I take my clumsy self when I routinely injure myself. I have found it to be an excellent place to seek immediate care when needed. Until last night. Last night I met Mr. Jennings. He claims to be a Physician who works at UMD. In all of my 53 years I have never met a healthcare professional as lackluster as Mr. Jennings. I cut my toe and was bleeding profusely as I am on blood thinners. To most healthcare professionals, including my Podiatrist, I was not in great danger but in danger none the less. He refused to treat me as he would miss his train and get home late and that I should go to the hospital. When I said I did not wish to go to a hospital he asked someone to go get my wife who was in our car outside so he could talk to her about this. He made this choice without asking my permission to discuss my medical condition with a third party. It is my understanding that my written consent is required when it is desired to talk of my health and medical treatment with another. I called my wife telling her of these strange goings on and she told me to leave and we would go to the hospital. Mr. Jennings. I will assume you once took this oath and I hope the words and their meaning still sound familiar. I swear to fulfill, to the best of my ability and judgment, this covenant: I will respect the hard-won scientific gains of those physicians in whose steps I walk, and gladly share such knowledge as is mine with those who are to follow. I will apply, for the benefit of the sick, all measures [that] are required, avoiding those twin traps of over treatment and therapeutic nihilism. I will remember that there is art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon's knife or the chemist's drug. Patient time is not valued here. After seeing the doctor, we were notified that the prescription will be sent over and we can head over to the location. Got to the pharmacy, pharmacist says no prescription was sent over , called urgent care. 20 minutes later , still no prescription. Pharmacist calls again, letting urgent care know the patient is still waiting. Waiting , waiting , 10 minutes later, I call urgent care. "The prescription" was sent over. No promptness, who cares if the patient is in pain and in need of the prescription? So much for urgent in urgent care. read more

I got cold last Saturdays so I went to this Urgent care place to get tested. I took both Rapid and PCR test. The rapid test came back in about 40 minutes which is very good. However, until now I still have not get the PCR test result which is over 7 days but a lot other place can have the result in about 24 hours. If anyone do need a test, you should go somewhere else. read more
