Someone walked into one of their branches using ID with…read moremy name on it and transferred $34,000 out of my HELOC account into my checking account and then wire transferred it to another entity. I reported this to the bank within 20 minutes while the transactions were still showing pending online. The bank immediately acknowledge that it was fraudulent, but has not credited my account back. It has been eight weeks and the interest charges continue to accumulate and be billed to me. They acknowledge the problem was on their side. they have failed to follow up with regular updates and have been a nightmare to deal with. I strongly recommend using a local credit union or a different franchise than Fifth Third.
