I was approved for an apartment I applied for in early January of 2020 that was listed at that time…read moreas available now, I was told it would be ready by 01/25/2020, 02/01/2020 at the latest. The apartment manager continued to extend the date the apartment would be available weekly. I couldn't wait any longer and the apartment was the perfect location for my sister and I for work and school. I agreed to finalize the lease paperwork for a move into a second more expensive apartment on 02/20/2020 if the apartment I was originally shown wasn't available by 02/21/2020. The apartment manager Ron, never called me on 02/20/2020 and after I reached out to him multiple times he'd told me he would call back and never did. On 02/21/2020 called multiple times during business hours, no answer. I was routed to his cell through a member of the office staff after he'd repeatedly ignored my calls and of course he answered. After a conversation where he stated that my urgency was an issue and asked why I couldn't wait another few days for the apartment I originally requested, I explained that I wasn't going to wait any longer and at this point waiting had ruined travel plans I had, and that I would like to finish my paperwork for the second apartment with another person in the office. He told me I could only work with him and that he'd be available in another two hours I should come back later. I told him that my day was dedicated to finishing this, and that I'd be waiting outside the office until he arrives and hung up. He called back immediately and said that I was no longer approved due to my attitude and I could get a refund of my $75 application fee. The broker/his boss LeCretia Baldwin and I spoke. I explained my frustration and she expressed that she "wished she could've been involved sooner" but due to my "hanging up" on Ron there's nothing she can do. I was asked to wait for my check after our conversation. I stood the doorway of the area where a young lady was preparing my check. She asked me not to stand in the doorway, and told me to have a seat. I stepped back to and told her I'd rather stand at which point she asked me to have a seat or leave. I told LeCretia I would not leave without my check, she then told me to wait outside for my check. I told her again that I would not leave without my check. Lacretia Baldwin then said that she was calling the police at this point I started I recording I could not believe that after all the miscommunication and wasted time I dealt with this woman was threatening to call the police on me for standing in an open space waiting for my money. I would never recommend The BK Agency or Point Star Management absolute worst experience I have ever had dealing with a property management company. *Also checked Zillow this morning the rate he gave me on the more expensive apt was $695 it's listed at $675 and includes additional pictures that are from apts that are not available. Bait and switch.
