Do not use this company for custom glass! I had a custom glass shower door/panel installed for my…read morewalk in shower. Since this is custom they sent out their own person to measure the glass. Normally when a professional measures for the glass they would account for all slopes. I have a tile bench that required a notch cut. the bench is sloped so water will run properly. The first panel was cut wrong and the company had to reorder. They blamed the manufacturer. The second panel was cut to almost the exact measurement for the lip which didn't account for the rail thickness/slope. So this panel was not going to fit unless the backing for the Channel rail was removed on the under side lip of the bench. I was okay with this being done as no one will know this was done except for myself and the installer. I also was going on the third scheduled install with them and was ready to have the glass done. They then proceeded to install my shower door. I asked them not to crack my tile. The lead installer was doing a good job but when the helper went to screw in the bottom side hinge he proceeded to force the screw in. Stripping the screw and cracking the tile behind the hinge. Picture is attached for reference. At this point I want nothing to do with this company and will be taking all my future business to Jim's Glass in Walla Walla, WA. I did send them an email a week ago to respond to my concerns and problems but they went unanswered. Maybe this was an off hand experience but did learn through asking around that when this was Yale glass it was a much better company and has lost its quality since then.

We hired Evans Exteriors to replace the siding on our house , and realized it was a horrible…read moremistake. We were told 3 to 4 weeks - it was 16 - yes, sixteen weeks. The job site (all around our house) was a mess the entire project, and on two 3-day weekends there was so much trash, supplies, and equipment left out on our patio it was unusable. The pile of trash on the side of our driveway was there the entire project - by "pile" we mean over 8ft by 6ft. The workers obviously had no idea of how to apply the James Hardy concrete siding, and the owner was rarely on site to supervise or teach them. The flashing used with this siding still looks horrible, even after 2 months of asking for it to be "fixed"; the siding cuts are best described as "childish" and unprofessional, siding boards that had broken corners and cracks through them were still put up, and there are still numerous nail "holes" visible on the siding. They were simply cutting the concrete fiber boards by hand, obviously not using the proper equipment to cut concrete fiber siding; the cuts over every door and all but 2 windows looked more like a mountain landscape they were so crooked and wavy. The "solution" for the crooked, too short, and uneven cuts was to cover the space with caulking - there is more caulking on our house than there is trim paint! The inexperience, and lack of property concern, of the workers also showed by the need to replace 6 screens on our windows because they were damaged when removing the old siding and putting up the new siding. Excuses were the norm when we brought anything up with the owner, and it was always someone else's fault; placing blame on your own workers only proved to us the lack of knowledge and experience of those workers, and we didn't care to hear whose fault it was, we just wanted it fixed. Promises to correct things were made throughout the project and they were forgotten as soon as they were made - evident by the fact that we had to constantly remind them over and over of things that needed to be done. We had to resort to printing out pages and pages of photos and repeatedly making lists of things that we wanted fixed due to the poor workmanship, uncaring attitudes, and the fact that the owner was not here to see them himself. The broken and cracked boards were finally replaced when presented with the photos and lists. In the end WE finished the touch-up painting, WE reattached internet and tv cables to the house, WE re-installed the patio lights, during and after the job we lost count of the number of screws and nails we picked up from our yard and driveway. From a distance our house looks great, but get near it and the poor workmanship really shows - short and crooked cuts filled with caulking, and the horrible job done with the caulking - globs of it, not smooth or professional in any way - excessive nail "holes" in the siding boards, trim boards that were not evened off at the bottom, to just name a few issues. Not a good experience at all, and NO where near worth the price we paid, especially when we add in our headaches and frustration at the poor-quality workmanship and the time it took. Thinking back, we don't think they ever worked more than 5 hours a day - arriving around 9:00 to 9:30, leaving more than an hour for lunch, and usually leaving the job around 3:00; near the "end" more hours were put in, usually working til 4:00 as the final payment was desired.

I agreed to the estimate and he agreed to my terms, I pay for materials at store, and he gets paid after. And then...well: 1.) Sends a text that same day on Friday after we met, and wanted to see if he could get paid upfront (deposit) before starting work because he's leaving town with family. And states that he could pick up materials after his trip on Sunday on the way back. I couldn't meet him and offer to go with him to hardware store on Sunday and meet him to pay for materials (in case if we missed anything). I DIDN'T HEAR FROM HIM SUNDAY. 2.) James sends me a text on Monday that he had a family emergency and wants to reschedule for Wednesday. I expressed my sympathies and agreed. 3.) James again sends me a text on Tuesday asking if he could meet with me to collect a deposit. I replied that I think he misunderstood me and and I do not pay for deposits beforehand, but that I could meet him at the hardware store and pay for materials. (THAT TO ME ASSURES THAT THE DEPOSIT IS SPENT SPECIFICALLY ON MATERIALS) 4.) He texts that I'm changing my "story" (whatever that means, this wasn't a damn book club meeting) AND THEN THREATENS ME WITH Better Business Bureau. Terrible customer service, waste of time, and waste of money driving out to meet him. I would give him 1/2 a star, but I can't. So 1 STAR for the Bearded NON-HANDYMAN.
