It was a beautiful November afternoon with temps in the low 80's so we took the toddlers to run and…read moreplay in the park. A lot of the playground equipment is out in the sun. There aren't a lot of shady spots. This park isn't the type with lots of picnic tables, benches and pavilions. It's centered mainly around kid play and the kids definitely enjoyed it. In addition to a regular swing set and the set for babies and toddlers they also have swings designed for children with special needs in 2 sizes up to 12 years old. That's pretty wonderful.

This is a decent sized park. Today was my first time there. It is near the post office in Hewitt…read more There is a good sized parking lot by the track as well as bleachers and a frisbee golf course. The walking path is made of concrete and there isn't any large trees. My wife had been there before and said that the creek or ditch appeared filled in. There was some seating that was covered and I noticed quite a few BBQ pits as well. I liked the quantity of picnic tables. It is a good track but not much to see so I enjoyed talking w my wife. Unlike other parks this trail had little to no incline and was easy to walk since it was concrete. That is helpful since I am still recovering from surgery. I would recommend this walking path for people who are perhaps a bit unsteady on their feet like me w surgery or other reasons possibly. The only complaint I might have is the lack of larger trees and that means during summer it would be wise if me to go in earlier or later hours. All in all good park. They have portable potties not permanent ones if that makes a difference to ya!!!

The trail was concrete so ideal for strollers etc. According to a "rails to trail" site this was part of a rail system to St. Louis that was repurposed. There was an intricate bridge/walkway on the part I walked that overlooks the Bosque river. I walked around 1-2 or so. I don't recommend walking then as shade on the portion I was on was only provided by trees. I believe you can be there after dark as the bridge part has lights powered by solar panels on the bridge itself. The rest of the trail isn't lighted. It is pet friendly but no waste bags provided and a sign was there stating that you needed to clean up after your pet or possibly be fined 500 dollars so please be prepared. The logo I took a pic of is on the bridge itself. There is another trail of the same name in Irving Texas about 2 hours from here. It appears to be a local repurposed trail. I didn't reach the end of the segment I was on due to the heat of the day for me and my dog but it ends at the dump. The parking on the corner of Lorena road and church road in Mc Gregor Texas is in the middle of the trail. The trail is about 5 miles total length and a popular trail in the community. Will try to get more pics next time and a better star rating next time.

Wow, lots of negative comments on here, but my family of 5 had a BLAST here! It was clean (mostly -…read morebut I think that can be fixed with 1-2 people on cleaning duty, maybe that can be fixed). All three kiddos jumped & two adults, a little pricey but worth it on a rainy or hot day. We were first timers, so now it'll be cheaper when we go because we have the socks already! Couple issues that I could only do 4 out of 5 Stars: 1. Bathroom - for the love of all things, put paper towels in your bathrooms!!!!! Make sure it has TP & soap! And again, cleaning person, at least ONCE an hour check everything & clean the bathrooms. 2. Kids working - I get it, it's a lower paying / in high school job. **BUT**The young girls that were "watching/working" the climbing areas on the bottom the day we were there, were just standing around and chatting. No one has time for chatting when they should be monitoring the kids they have up on these climbing areas. It was deep conversations they were having, completely ridiculous - When kids were RIGHT THERE, kids were asking them to "help" them get out of their safety equipment. And they, the young girls working, were THE MOST Inattentive people I've ever seen at a place for kids. Where they're supposed to be watching / monitoring. Side note - people, if you want to do the obstacle course fun and you're a young adult or adult, CHILL OUT, there are kids here. Period! It is FOR KIDS, so yes, there will be kids "everywhere" DUH! So if you don't like kids or claim they're "in your way", go somewhere else, where kids can't go, if you don't like kids.
