Around Memorial Day I was having a few issues with my boat and requested south rivers facilities Skip Bennett marina handle the job. I asked, as is industry standard, for a quote prior to the work being conducted via which Skip called me, verbally quoted me "no more than $250" and I gave the go ahead. I just recently received the invoice over two months later, for almost $1300. Multiple billed lines include work I did not ever authorize and the work done that I did authorize was obviously verbally quoted incorrectly. I have requested several times that Skip call me, as he was who quoted me the price, so we can work together to come to an agreement, yet it has been over three weeks and he has not returned any emails or my request for a call at any instance. Now they are refusing to launch my boat even though I paid for my marina storage and launch fees IN FULL for the year, unless I agree to pay this invoice including the exorbitant unauthorized charges. Absolutely do not store your boat here unless you want to potentially face legal fees in order for them to fulfill contractual obligations, which is what it seems I will need to resort to considering Skip has completely avoided addressing this issue.

Their knowledge, opinions, recommendations, and perseverance during the repair process proved to be the right choice for us in coordinating efforts and paperwork between the Broker, Insurance Company, and schedules affected by poor 2013 spring weather and additional workloads put on the Rhode River staff with a concurrent dock enhancement project which could have easily taken away much more time which was dedicate to our boat. We believe that we able to achieve a solid starting point and understanding of the condition of all our Island Pilot's systems due to the efforts of Brian and his staff. If you are looking for a service marina that will treat you on a first name basis, has flexibility to your needs, and is perseverate at overcoming challenges we would very much recommend Rhode River Marina in your list of places to check out.

This ruined the whole experience and day and luckily i don't live down there and didn't need to deal with him. His sons on the other hand were great. No, i probably would not do business with them if i had alternatives. Customer service is easy and explaining rather than barking goes a long way.

A rarity among mechanics and electronics technicians, Chris has a passion for the technical stuff and loves the challenge. He comped me a few hours work when he was troubleshooting as we went down a few false paths in the process of elimination. Chris of Dockside has been the only vendor of any kind to call and follow up post-service. He is also very professional, polite, and owns the right tools and equipment. There are so many marinas near our home off the South River that it can be difficult to know who to trust with repairs. We were very glad that we found the folks at Persimmon Point. They were very professional and efficient, and very patient about explaining all we needed to know as new boat owners. It is a family-run business. I learned more working with Alex over the phone about good boat maintenance than I could have hoped for. We had them pick up a used boat that we were thinking of buying and take it into the shop to get checked out. Alex gave us an honest assessment of the boat, a three very reasonable quotes for good, better, and top-tier options to fix it so that we could make the best decision for our self's. Fast forward to early part of Oct and I took my boat in to get a quote on a spider crack on the gel coat above the water line that popped up Al end of the season '24. After we discussed his pricing etc for that fix and I found his pricing very reasonable I went through a laundry list of stuff, fix a gel coat chip, 2 more on the interior, wash/buff/wax the boat, replace the scupper valve, repair the trailer turn signal lighting, and replace the winch strap. I figured it'd take weeks, maybe a month, wasn't in a rush to get it done as it's the end of the season. Well, as Jeff quoted me 10days, on the 8th day I got the call everything done! Went and picked the boat up today...absolute perfection. Although cloudy out, cannot tell any repairs made, looks factory. Everything fixed/repaired with no issues! Highly recommend!
