Visited this location on Friday, November 14, 2025 & cashed out on November 15th @ 1:45 am check #261. We had a party of 4 & had a great time until we paid over $200 for our ticket & after paying for our ticket we realized we were over charged $18 for a 12 peice wing & $5 for fries. When we approached our server Francis to address the issue she acknowledged the issue with the wings but wanted to argue the $5 for the extra fries. We only had 2 fries at our table she did bring out three fries but when we told her we only ordered 2, she left & took the 3rd fry back, but we were still charged for 3 fries. We were willing to pay for what we ate & drink & when I refused to pay for something we did not receive there was a problem. The server raised her voice at us & when I argued & raised my voice back there was a problem. Security put their input in & made it seem as if we had too many drinks & were not aware of what we had. Even another bystander which was apparently her friend or relative got involved with something that was not her business. They threatened to pull the camera which I obliged & advised once you see you were in fact wrong I would like an apology & our bill taken care of for the headache & humiliation all over $5. Was told by Francis she will not apologize & was told she could pay for my bill & began to be real disrespectful. Mind you our server Francis was not very attentive & only attended to the table where the same bystander who did intervened was seated the whole night. I am a lawyer & do not live in the area but did visit the location in October during FAMU homecoming & had a much better experience. I came back for that reason but after this experience will definitely not be back to this establishment.I will normally tip my waiter up to $100 based on the service but since gratuity was included & $28 was the tip I hope it satisfied her pockets,while she was willing to pay for our ticket while being sarcastic. All because we had an issue with paying for something we did not receive. I will be reaching out to corporate to address this further as this service was really terrible & I was treated as if I was trying to get something for nothing. I really hope you all pull the cameras & address this issue going forward as no one is willing to pay for something they did not receive regardless of how little the cost & if that is an issue with this establishment then you all are stealing from you customers. Word to the wise, please check your ticket & question anything that is not right. I would like to say a manager did come over & he did make it right thanks to him for removing both items after all this commotion & we paid for our correct ticket with no problem. If I could leave a 0 star review i would. Some of the people there are really nice but some are very prejudice. I had an incident where customers were being hateful and we were told to leave for reacting to hateful racist and misogynist comments. However, he was never penalized for his actions, only me and my friends who are girls all under 5'3. The manager was actually VERY intoxicated while trying to dilute the problem which was counterproductive. He was drinking all night while on the clock. I've had fun times at pockets but if this is how they treat situations then I feel unsafe going there and I won't be coming back. read more

I've put off this review for 8 years because I try and give small business the benefit of the doubt but after 8 years of disappointment and my last visit I decided to share. A typical visit to Pocket's includes having to start a different tab with at least three different cocktail girls and the bar because they don't share tabs or cant agree on how to split money. Also, if you enjoy 2nd hand smoke and lung cancer it's always on special, so that's nice. I've had to cancel three credit cards due to unorganized accounting and lack of availability of a "manager" that can assist in helping rectify issues. Pro Tip: Bring Cash On my last visit this Tuesday, some friends and I decided to stop by to play a game and have some drinks. After celebrating a nice shot, Trey, the security guy, decided we were being too loud. He didn't have a problem with constant drug problem/deals and shootings in the parking lot, but have a good time with your friends and he's Johnny on the spot to make sure you quiet down. After all we might have over powered the great talent there for karaoke night. As much as I'd love to say I'll never be back I'm sure I'll some day end up back at this place. After watching a movie my friends, we wanted to keep the night going without getting too crazy or needing a huge party. Pockets was suggested and so four of us came for some drinks and a few rounds of pool. It was a Saturday Night and I think they were playing some boxing match on their televisions, thus a $5 cover charge. I was not in the mood to whine so we paid and entered. I always wondered from the outside what it was like to hangout at Pockets and honestly I was surprised how big this place is. There are tons of pool tables inside, lots of seating for drinking around the bar and even a few darts. What is even cool is the fact that they have mini bowling. Take into account that this place is a bar and there will be lots of smoking. You will come out smelling like cigars and cigarettes. We were wait-listed for about 30 minutes before our pool table was ready, so we just sat at the bar and have some drinks. Lots of alcohol and beer here. There was a Grey Goose double special for only $6. We did some vodka tonics and honestly the liquor drinks tasted watered down. I usually make a face when drinking some vodka drinks, but this was like nothing to me. I would definitely order beer next time so I feel like I am legit drinking something. We had about 3 rounds and I barely felt a thing. We also ordered a sample platter than had really good fried mac & cheese, spicy jalapeno poppers and fried corn dogs. These were really great and I would eat them again. While overall Pockets is not my ideal choice for a Saturday Night, do not knock it before you try it. They have a very limited menu and small kitchen, so it takes a bit for food to appear. Food was well prepared for what it was; simple bar fare. Adequate, but could be great with some touches. Clearly an afterthought over drinks and a venue for smokers. Yes, smokers. This is tobacco paradise. The smoke eaters hanging from the rafters are easily overwhelmed, but make no mistake; this bar is FOR smokers. And, so it shall be. It is the single reason it won't be my neighborhood pub. My last note; the cover was so reasonable, this special occasion was overwhelmed by throngs of standing room only patrons. We studied the exits and felt unsafe. A friend was hanging out here watching football and heard them say free buffet on sundays for the rest of the season, so went here to watch nfl Sunday: disorganized (took 30 minutes of playing with the TVs to setup the games during actual game time with "advice" coming from the patrons), they tend to change the channels mid game to another game because one of their "regulars" requests it. Expensive pitchers of cheap beer ($10 for miller light). They do offer the beer towers now for $15 for 100 oz of that cheap beer, but they like to cheat you out of 8 to 10 oz of beer by putting the ice block in and then filling up the tower to the 100 oz line (sometimes not even that far). When you mention it to the bartenders, they respond with, "if you don't like it, go elsewhere". Smoke filled atmosphere that is so cold you have to go outside to warm up. One week was so bad, we had to call friends to bring us sweaters and jackets, and we weren't the only ones doing so! The patrons are either too drunk or depressed or cold to have any energy to "get into" the games. Waitresses are hit or miss, but mostly miss. One particular week, we sat at a table, right in front of the waitress... waited for 10 minutes before finally grabbing that waitresses and asking who would be serving us. Her response was "me. Why?" Then after placing our order, a friend asked if she could hold his card to open his tab, but all he wanted at this particular moment was a glass of water. Her response was a big "F" you. This is the typical dive bar you see in movies with passed out patrons at the tables. It was worth tolerating for the free wings, but that buffet was only refilled 2x and lasted about an hour (decent), but only happened that one Sunday and hasn't been seen or heard of again. Nothing worth keeping a patron coming back. The only reason we go here on occasion is because it is within walking distance of friends house, and we don't want to drink and drive. Have started going elsewhere where the TVs are already setup and playing when you walk in, beer is only $8 a pitcher ($2/pitcher adds up when you are getting 8+ pitchers each Sunday), waitresses are attentive and grateful you are there, and the crowd is actually sober and awake and cheering with the games. read more

This is by far the worst pub I have seen in the lower 48. Worst service and for a pool hall none of the equipment works.

If I could rate 0 I would. Our server has come by our table once in the past hour. I had to wait 20 minutes for a beer and then never saw her again. As my friends tell me, this is actually one of the better experiences they have had here. Good old Pocket's. Huge place with plenty of pool tables, dart boards, friendly and usually quite attractive waitresses. You can get the $2.25 extra tall beers, the shots are failry cheap also. And most things I have tried on the menu were pretty pretty good. All in all, you can't really go wrong. Smoking inside is allowed but its not very overpowering at all. Be careful though, if you are not a karaoke fan , I believe thursday nights is karaoke night. read more
