This was my first time at The Pickle Pad, and I had a great experience. The place is nice, clean, and spacious, with plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. There are tons of lawn games, a foosball table, pool table, and even two interactive video games just to name a few. We spent two hours here but could have easily stayed longer because there was so much to do. The employees at the front desk were very friendly and welcoming, which added to the positive atmosphere. I would definitely come back! The only downside was that I tried calling three times for more information before my visit, but no one answered the phone. Other than that, it was an enjoyable experience all around. Great addition to Tallahassee.

The food was affordable and good. Our waiter was nice but she was a bit overwhelmed. The food side was nice. The pickle ball side was upbeat with lots of moving parts. I will return.

There are lots of pool tables; some are coin-op and others you rent. Depending on which table you're playing at, you might not be close to a TV monitor. There are a number of big screens inside, but nearly enough that they should be calling themselves a sports bar in my opinion. The bar is OK and the staff were pleasent enough. I tried their deep friend mushrooms. They were actually pretty good! But heads up. This place charges a mandatory gratuity of 18% on all orders with the exception of visitors coming in early M-Th. Add that on top of already high prices and you're in pretty deep. Advice: in Florida (and most states), paying mandatory gratuity charges are not actually required (or legal) and they cannot force you to pay it. If you're dissatisfied with your service, you can line out the mandatory gratuity and put in whatever you feel is appropriate. However, I've also heard that it may be legal as long as it is posted...which it was. I would have rated another star higher had it not been for the mandatory gratuity...which is the highest I've ever run into in my travels. As a single traveler, I don't feel the overall price was reasonable. So I won't be back.

Customer beware. This restaurant did an unauthorized charge to my daughter's credit card. When my…read moredaughter spoke with the owner he admitted they do charge cards additional money without the card owner's signature or permission. Searching Google Reviews I found customers who complained of the same. My daughter, who was visiting Tallahassee, went to eat at Zingales with her sister and cousin. Two women who were present at a paint with a twist event they had just attended asked if they could accompany them to the restaurant. The waiter was aware there would be 3 separate checks. My daughter and her sister had their item on 1 receipt. My daughter's cousin had her receipt and the 2 women shared 1 receipt. My daughter used her credit card to pay her bill which was $17. Her signature on the receipt should've ended the transaction between my daughter and Zingales. She later learned her card was charged $127 because the 2 women they had just met left out without paying their bill. She was told by the owner of Zingales this is their policy to charge any card used at the table even when they are not authorized to do so. Even if each party at a table has separate receipts. This is a blatant disregard for the Electronic Fund Transfer Act. A federal law which says a business Cannot take more money than what is authorized. In his response to my review the owner takes no responsibility for his illegal act. Instead he tries to justify it by fabricating a false narrative to sully my daughter's character. The facts are my daughter was visiting Tallahassee. Neither she, her sister or her cousin had any contact or knowledge of these 2 women before meeting them a short time before at a paint with a twist event. The meals at the table WERE NOT SHARED. The 2 women ordered shots for the table which you applied to their bill.

However, on a recent trip I discovered something a bit disturbing and honestly confusing. I was with a group of colleagues, and three of us have Alpha Gal (red meat allergy caused by the lone star tick). Thankfully I desensitized myself enough that I can eat SOME red meat. The other two are highly sensitive. I ordered the wings again and passed them around to share. One of my AG friends ate one and the other asked the waitress if there is cross contamination. We were informed that the wings are fried in BEEF tallow. I panicked because the one friend is so sensitive that she can't even go to a petting zoo with hoofed mammals without reacting. So lucky that she had taken an Allegra that day which helps with the allergy enough that one wing fried with beef fat won't cause anaphylaxis. However, if the other girl had eaten it, she very likely could have had a terrible reaction. It does not state on the menu that the wings are fried in beef tallow. It's very important that allergens such as this are noted. I would never have thought myself that it was fried in beef fat. I would've thought it was vegetable or peanut oil. I would hope that this restaurant will add red meat allergens to their menu as Alpha Gal is becoming more and more common. Better yet, don't use beef products to cook chicken products.

R&R at Hotel Indigo in Tallahassee, FL…read more Stayed a couple nights at Hotel Indigo on a work trip and naturally ended up at R&R more than once because: location, location, location. Easy access plus a bar meant repeat visits. Let's start with the GOODS the drinks! I stopped in to the bar multiple times and the cocktails are where they shined for me. Ryan the bartender - WOW next level. Superb! Knows his stuff, and made every drink a hit for me. My top pick? The Juju, hands down my favorite. But I also got a sneak peek of a new drink coming to their seasonal menu called the Lily Pad, and OMG mmmmmm. So good. Bright, refreshing, well-balanced. Totally check out my photos for that one. Now... about breakfast. It's a No for me. Enough. I had the Nashville Honey Chicken Biscuits and they are a FAIL, a No. Dry, sad, biscuits with fried frozen chicken nugget in it and not worth $16. It's an embarrassment to the establishment. The Cortado, also a miss!... but it was coffee and I needed to get going to work. R&R, please rethink breakfast: 100% did not meet the price point. Skip breakfast or walk across the street, there's a bagel shop. The hotel indigo is really cute and I'll probably write a review about that on a separate, the place is overall cute, but there's very limited food places around the hotel. So in conclusion, I will give you an extra star for the convenience and the bar. After my experience for breakfast, I did not care to come here for food at all anymore. Expensive cheap food. Just because they're helped by a great bar and a beautiful hotel and a great location..

We arrived and found a seat outside during some really beautiful north Florida weather. Our waiter was super sweet but had a hard time remembering what he was running back and forth to get. (I had to ask several times for silverware- we ate all the appetizers with our fingers which doesn't seem like the end of the world but it was messy) He took our drink orders and it took a very long time to get them all delivered - with again a few reminders of what was still missing. When our food came and they asked if we needed anything else we again asked for silver ware which he then brought right out. At that point he did a pretty good job checking to see if we needed anything else. The food was great. We ordered several different menu items and I heard no complaints which is pretty much a miracle when you have a party of 10 that included 5 years to 62 years in age ranges!! Note - the fried Brussels are fried dark. I personally love them that way but they might be a little too dark for some tastes. I ate the PoBoy like I was starving but it was fairly bland so just know that if you're expecting some spice. Despite our servers challenges, we had a great time and enjoyed the heck out ourselves. We will be back!

Naturally, I was excited to check it out -- both for the atmosphere and the connection to such a well-respected local figure. We visited on a summer evening and found the place quiet at first, but it started to liven up around 9 p.m., especially in the bar area, drawing a pretty young and energetic crowd. The vibe is casual and welcoming, though parking can be a bit of a challenge -- even on a slower night, it was tough to find a spot nearby, and most options require payment, so come prepared. Our server mentioned it was their first week, but they still did a great job. Service was attentive without being overbearing. The prices were surprisingly reasonable, especially for a trendy College Town location. We ordered the pretzel rolls, Caesar salads, and a few pours of their signature beer, Outlaw, which was just $5 and very good. Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful. Our total came to $62 for two full meals, four beers, and a tip -- not bad at all, especially given the quality and portion sizes. While the restaurant does include some Bobby Bowden memorabilia, I expected a bit more of a nostalgic or themed atmosphere considering the namesake. A few more personal touches or FSU throwbacks would really round out the space and elevate the experience for fans and newcomers alike. Overall, Bowden's is a great spot for a casual night out -- whether you're grabbing a bite before the bar crowd rolls in or sticking around for drinks in the heart of College Town. I'd definitely go back.
