i want my money back!! these are not original double scented candles and the ones i received are 2 different colors! 1 of them has 3 wicks and the other one has 1 wick and its bright pink!! i couldnt live with myself sending people shitty candles knowing they are not original pocono candles!!! im beyond pissed! read more

Place was ok, was expecting a lot more. Store seemed pretty empty with merchandise and things were all spread out. They had a lot of precious moments for $5, if you collect those. Wasn't a huge fan of any of the candle scents. We ended up leaving without getting anything. We were greeted when we arrived and left. read more

This may be a long review, so I am going to start with the good! First off, the building is huge and every little nook and cranny was filled with some sort of product. This place is advertised as a candle store but it's so much more than that. They had odds and ends such as wreaths all the way down to key chains and everything in between. I asked around and looked on Yelp for places that sell Pocono apparel (which is extremely hard to find in this area by the way) so I was excited to get something that I can remember this ski trip with! Candles smelled great. The price is pretty good for the quality of the candles. I bought 5 of them and I am currently burning "chocolate brownie" and the throw from the candle is amazing. Why only 3 stars? The owner was not wearing a mask at all, not below her nose, not around her neck. I take this extremely serious especially when traveling. This is a touristy area and there is absolutely no reason for that. The owner walked around and talked to me and my partner almost the whole time- until I separated and shopped on my own. She was probably lonely but not everyone likes this while shopping. She talked about other customers to us, she got on her phone and was talking about someone.. very loudly and aggressively. She used vulgar language- when I say vulgar I mean words that don't "slip" out occasionally. Such a turn off! Why did we entertain her? Well we didn't. Not a word in actually. So was at an antique shop, saw a huge yellow billboard across the highway and just had to visit. ( great advertisement, certainly caught my attention) dont look like a big store from the outside, but wow its huge in there, 2 stories high.. section and section of candles, I mean all type of candles you can possibly imagine, candle holders, picture frames, gifty figurines, all type of gifts, you can find a gift for everyone in there.. ohh and did i mention they also have fudge in there too, ohh and gourmet dog treats too!! ohh so the candles are amazing, the way they smell are the scent they burn.. they are wonderful!! most deffinatly worth my while in there!! Follow up on the candles- if you like the Punkin peacan pie candle from Bath body works, you will love the caramel apple candle there.. smells very similar. read more

Tons and tons of candles. Most of them smelling quite good. But that's only basically one section of the store. The rest contains borderline kitschy knick-knacks, such as little signs that say "My Grandchild is a Golden Retriever" (which is completely apropos for my mother, in particular, but still not something I would ever purchase) and odd looking windchimes and cases upon cases of Precious Moments figurines. And more magnets than you could possibly know what to do with. Worth the stop if you want a candle or three - and definitely worth the stop if your house needs just one more shot glass that says "God Bless America." You know you can't resist! read more

First of all this a very "country craft" like store, so if you're used to buying candles at more modern places or chain stores you may not enjoy your visit, but If you like/love candles as much as I do than this place is for you. There are two floors which hold every kind of candle scent and shape imaginable and you can even watch them being created through a huge window. As far as scent goes I find them to be very strong and their jar candles also have a very strong cold throw, meaning they can scent a small room without being lit. Even my husband who's really not into candles comes out with one or two which he uses to cover the fish odors when he cooks. Just a small warning though, if you have any type of allergies or issues with certain perfumes you may not be able to handle this place as the scents come on very strong as soon as you walk in. I make an hour long drive trip to PA about twice a year and wouldn't even consider NOT stopping by Pocono Candle. As a matter of fact I have a trip planned in two weeks. I gladly give it five stars! read more

There is just way too much stuff in here and it is very poorly organized. Yes, I ended up walking out with some things, but I mostly left tired and frustrated. It seems that the concept is to sprinkle the Pocono brand candles around the store so you have to go find them and hopefully buy something else...? The store needs to be arranged so that all of the Pocono candles of all sizes are in the same place. I shouldn't have to trek around the store to find things - most of which have nothing to do with the pocono candle brand. You'll have votive over here, medium sized jars over here, large ones over here, soy over here...I just wanted to get out of there. Also, say I wanted to buy some water candles. They're all in one area, but then I'd need a container, for instance. Then, I'd have to go find that. Or say, I wanted to buy an oil heater. Ok, the oils are in this area, but now I have to figure out where the oil heaters are. Oh, here's a shelf, and here's another shelf, and look there's some on the clearance rack and holy hell this is an episode of hoarders. Additionally, the upstairs is incredibly depressing. I imagine this show on The Profit, or one of those CNBC shows where the host comes in and just throws everything away. It's confusing, chaotic, and most of the gifts are tacky. Organize it, liquidate the stuff not selling, and I promise sales will go up. read more

Of course its kitch! And thats why i love this place! I have very very fond childhood memories of this place, and i recently went back to it after probably 20 years and was so happy to see everything was just as great as i remembered. This was nice. To get here may be sort of confusing. They have so many candles, you can create your own candle. It's not very cheap though, so know what youre going inside for before you get overwhelmed. read more

I frequent this awesome candle shop as I burn a lot of candles and scented wax! Most of my candles are purchased here and my house smells so good from their scent. Not only does this shop have great smelling candles, they have a variety of other fabulous items. This is a great place to go if you need to purchase a gift for someone or just treat yourself! read more

This is the store that time forgot... It appears as if they bought 4x more inventory than they needed when they first opened (which looks like the late 1970s/early 1980s) and are still working their way through that 35-year-old inventory. Their inventory is all so dated--tons of pastel porcelain and a bunch of silk flowers that are in color schemes you don't see in regular stores anymore. There's a clearance section where they were selling some decorative wall plates that had 1979 written on them (by the way, they were $85 on sale..) and a statue that said "Christmas 1981". And this wasn't a commemorative display with objects for everyone's birth years, I think this is just inventory they've had since 1979/1981. Prices for all of this merchandise were too high as well. read more
