Drop off was great. Everything since has been a nightmare. They seem to have no inretest in ever picking up their empty Pod. They have scheduled at least five different windows to pick up and have yet to show up! And that's not even the worst part, the worst part is the lies. Not excuses, flat-out lies. They've twice told me they've been here to pick up but couldn't for some nonsense reason. Not true, not even close to true! Horrible experience. I'm in the military and have about 14 moves. Using pods is rated the absolute worst. We needed two pods and got one delivered since space was limited and set up the second for a later date. Could not get any confirmation on date and time. To call pods (which I did 5 times) the shortest wait is over an hour to talk to someone. Yet to call to set up move is 5 min to talk with someone. Once they have your stuff you wait a long time. We got told a different story on our pod with each call. One call I waited 1 hour 30 minute only to get someone to who hung up (presumably accidentally but...). Don't use pods. Never again will I use PODS Moving & Storage!!!! I am beyond frustrated with this company!!! When I originally ordered my PODS container, the agent told me she would make a note on my account so the container would be transferred to Savannah, GA automatically so that I could just call to have it delivered to the destination when I was ready for it. They picked it up July 1st from our sold house in West Sacramento, CA. We started the drive across country on Monday, July 3rd. My account on the PODS website didn't show any new information so I assumed it was in transit across the country. On July 5th, it still showed no change so I called PODS (took just over 40 minutes of sitting on hold) to try to schedule the delivery at the final destination. I was hoping for delivery July 8th or 10th. I was told that the container was still in the warehouse in Sacramento. There was nothing in my account saying to start the transfer to Savannah. He told me the soonest it could go would be July 19th but he put a note in my account requesting an earlier transfer date. I got an email the next day saying it would start the journey on July 11th. At this time it would not allow me to schedule a final delivery date. We arrived at our destination July 7th. I called back at exactly 8 am on July 10th when they opened and got an agent fairly quickly. The soonest available date for final delivery was July 22 but I was told they would again, put a note requesting an earlier delivery. I was told I should call once the container arrives at the warehouse in Savannah. The container finally arrived sometime Saturday July 15th. Sunday they are closed. I called this morning at 8:15. The estimated hold time was 8 minutes. I was on hold for approximately 42 minutes until I got an agent. She took all of my information and said she was looking up my account when our call was disconnected. I was hoping she would call me back since she had my account info and phone number but I guess that is asking too much. So at this point, I have been at my destination 10 days without my stuff and it will be 5 more days before it arrives. The empty container can not be picked up until July 29th which puts me 3 days over my 1 month rental time. I was told they would not charge me for a second month but at this point, I don't know what to believe. Everyone I have spoke with on the phone has been super nice BUT the customer serivce is horrible. They need more employees because the hold times are way too long. The online "chat with an agent" feature never seems to have an agent available. They make it very difficult to schedule delivery days if you don't live in a big city. (My new area only has Wednesdays and Saturdays available for deliveries and they fill up far in advance). To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. This is a reflection of the location in Savannah, GA and not a reflection of the entire company. We had an incredible experience with the location in Oxnard, CA before we arrived in South Carolina. I thought there couldn't be a worse moving service than the US Military contracted moving services for a PCS, but the headache that we have had for over the past three weeks with PODS has completely beaten them out by a long shot. We had no issues with the local PODs company back in California, but we did only have one issue with the financial side by being charged for an extra container we cancelled before we moved. That got handled fairly quickly. Our POD was delivered to our apartment complex in South Carolina on the morning of the original scheduled date, then everything just went completely downhill from then. We had our POD picked up from Cali on July 16th with a delivery date to South Carolina on July 26th. No issues there. Got a pick up window the day before and the driver called us an hour out, and same thing with the drop off. Our original re-pick up date was scheduled for July 28th. Never got a pick up window notice and had to call the company service team that wasn't even at the local POD in Savannah. They told me that they overbooked our POD pickup and rescheduled us for August 2nd. I was fairly frustrated since we had this scheduled for almost a month in advance. Our apartment complex required us to get the container out of the parking lot within 72 hours, but thankfully they have been understanding about the situation. August 2nd came and I had to call again. This time they told me that they were down drivers and had to reschedule to August 6th. August 6th came, same thing. An agent telling me that they put my order in for August 10th and filed an "incident report." August 9th I got a call and was told they had to reschedule to August 15th. August 15th rescheduled to August 17th, which became the 18th, the 19th, and then today, August 20. Earlier this afternoon, we received a call telling us that the location doesn't deliver or pickup to our area on Saturdays and they had to once again reschedule for August 24th. I have never received one pick up window, notice, or warning about a so called "confirmed pickup" and had to call every single time, only to be told "They will pick it up today around..." followed up by another agent saying the location has to reschedule because of an "emergency reason.". Never once did I talk to someone actually at the Savannah location. It was always some corporate phone agent that has no idea what's happening at the location and just says that my pickup is "confirmed at a future date." I've asked multiple times for a local number to the facility to talk to the warehouse directly and each time have been told "We aren't allowed to give that number out." BUT the California location was more than happy to give us their local number because "HQ just sees schedules and doesn't understand pick up times and actual availability at our warehouse." Every agent has responded to the situation with "I'll reschedule you to ## date" and "I've filed an incident report." EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE SO CALLED REPORTS HAS DONE NOTHING. It's like they disappear into a black hole. Our POD is still here almost a month later.... To put the icing on the cake, a POD was delivered and picked up two days after in the exact same apartment complex as ours this week. WHAT IN THE ACTUAL F!#% If you need a moving service, stay away from this PODS location. You're better off just getting a UHaul. I'm not sure about other PODS locations, since the one we had in Cali was incredible, but the Savannah location is mind boggling horrible. Whatever needs to change, whether it's management or actually having more drivers, it needs to happen ASAP. And for the love of God, just please pick up this container and get us an empty weight ticket like we paid for. UPDATE 22 August. Emailed the PODS company at socialmedia@pods.com on Saturday last week and received a call from the Atlanta location today telling me it would get picked up tomorrow. Was given the number of the manager at the Atlanta location and told to call him directly if it isn't solved by tomorrow evening. I was assured PODS will deliver to the town we moved to cross-country, and I even checked on the website and it showed as being available. When I booked for the original delivery of the POD to my old home, the customer service guy said they deliver to the entire town. Like, why wouldn't they? Today, when I call to pay them $4000.00 to ship my pod, they tell me they can't deliver it to my house. In a perfect world, they'd agree to do it. I'd happily pay more to avoid the mess this has caused. I work in logistics, and to treat your customers like this is a very bad idea. There's really no good excuse, because you can always make it work. In this case, they simply don't want to do the work. The kind customer service person I was speaking with even called the Savannah warehouse manager, who apparently incorrectly stated our town was two hours from them (it's 70 minutes away) and stated he would not under any circumstance open up our zip code for delivery. They deliver 8 minutes north of us, 15 minutes south, 15 minutes east, all off the same highway, and yet they don't deliver to my house in the middle of all those? Extremely disappointing, as we have limited means, and will now have to come up with an additional $1-2K to hire someone else to unpack the pod and pack all the stuff in another truck and drive it to us. I'm really, really, really disappointed and frankly, a bit angry. We moved across the country and put our faith in this company and they basically took our money and ran. The two stars is purely for the good customer service I got on the phone, as they apparently didn't know the Savannah facility won't deliver to every part of Brunswick. THIS IS A REVIEW OF THIS PODS LOCATION MANAGEMENT AND LACK THEREOF. PLEASE DO NOT CONFUSE THIS AS A REPRESENTATION OF THE COMPANY AS WHOLE. ALL PREVIOUS EXPERIENCES WERE ABOVE AND BEYOND OUR EXPECTATIONS. There are bad apples on every tree and when they are removed the tree flourishes. On Jan 10th, 2022 this locations management provided my family and I an experience which we never expected nor experienced using PODs (50-60 PODs used via our business in the last 2 years in Tampa, FL.). 1. Our POD was delivered to another location which this locations management failed to notify us prior to of any POA restrictions. Those concerns were worked out prior to making said reservation as I am disabled due to my service in Afghanistan 2001 and was provided an exception. 2. The individual who holds a management position at this location, I say it that way as he is in no way shape or form qualified to manage a location nor staff, he demonstrated all the qualities that one should NOT possess as a manager who serves the consumer or any other facet of business. 3. This same person stated, "I am a god-fearing Christian man.", after I used an expletive due to my frustration which I apologized to him before he stated that and then hung up on me. So, then he called back to continue to deliver the rudest experience of customer service to date. I personally know that I made a mistake using such vernacular and whole heartly apologize for letting the following slip, "This is B.S. that we weren't notified". 4. In order to get our belongings to our home we had to hire a moving company to move them last minute which cost $800 additional. We made arrangements in advance to have resources onsite, but we were not notified of the delivery until it was dropped off, 2 hours later in a baseball field. 5. The day of pick up; the driver called and said he was on his way with an attempt to confirm our address as one would expect. We advised him the POD wasn't at this location and it was on a baseball field which the address was unknown as we just moved. Upon reading the other reviews on this location it appears that this is standard operating procedure for this individual. In my experience, 8 years of service US Army, 4 years as a Research and Development Director, and 8 years as a business owner with 32 personnel; I would take pleasure in terminating this individual or any other that conducted themselves in this fashion in representation of our Tampa based company. All other experiences with this location's staff were expectational which I would expect with his example of what NOT to do. We are however working with corporate in effort for some sort of resolve which they have been responsive and accommodating thus far. While this company was responsive and on time I will not be using them again due to their money grabbing policy of not prorating the rental of their pod containers. While I'm sure it was somewhere in the fine print I do not feel it is fair that when you go 4 days into the next month they charge you the full months rent. Pods in Savannah still has a pod in our driveway which they have not moved in spite of four different assurances it would be done. Every person you get on the phone has a different piece of information and no one has the power to make decisions or to direct us to anyone with any authority but they will be sure to ask for their money. Trying to get our pod out of storage was a disaster which costs us hundreds in extra fees to movers who had to travel out of state twice. Next time I would get professional movers and not use storage. read more

Absolutely a great experience. We needed two of the 8X8X16 pods to move from Puyallup, WA to Guyton, GA. It could not have gone smoother. The pods were delivered, picked up, delivered to our new home and picked up again, each time within the 3 hour window time frame. Each time I needed to talk to someone at pods, it was a great experience, met with professionalism and courtesy. There is a bit of work involved in packing all your own stuff, bubble wrapping, boxing, and taping. Even so, with the cost of packing materials (look on Craig's List for someone who just moved to your area and has some boxes to sell cheap or even give away) and the cost of the pods, we saved over $11,000 over having a moving company move us. read more

Vastly understaffed in Savannah. POD delivered yesterday and door doesn't open/close properly and won't align to be locked. Hubby called 877 customer service number and that agent couldn't reach anybody (ie they aren't answering their phone) at Savannah location. I called today and talked to another central agent who did reach somebody in Savannah shop. I was told they are very understaffed and hope to get somebody here today. In the meantime, I had booked a crew to load and now have no confidence I can fully shut door or lock it. And rain is expected later so risky to put good in POD if I can't be sure it can lock. There are plenty of people on welfare in Savannah---really--- they can't hire more people and get them off govt assistance programs? read more

Rented an 8' x 8' x16' POD for 3 bd, 2 b house with a garage. Recommended by company and we used every inch. Helped out really cuz we had to make tough decisions in the end which I sincerely appreciate now that I'm here. Moved coast to coast without knowing our new residence, and 3 weeks later (yesterday) we waved goodbye to our POD. 1st time using them and incredibly happy with their business model and customer service. The process is kind of amazing. The value was there and not one thing was broken when all was said and done. Some things you need to know...if you can't maximize space (pack a trunk or a dishwasher), this is not for you. If you can give yourself some time to prepare for your move, highly recommend. It's exhausting, but gave me piece of mind knowing I was responsible for packing my own stuff. We spent 5 days packing the POD before they picked it up, and 3 days emptying it. If you have very little time to make a move, you will need help. We filled 25% floor to ceiling then tied it off, and moved on to the next quadrant. Worked great. Only issue for us was opening the door when it arrived full. You need to make sure the door has room to roil up into a coil at the top. We had a box spring shift and not allow the door to fully coil. This is important! Keep this area open and secure from other items or you will not be able to get into you POD once it arrives. Luckily I had some loose articles in the center against the door which I could easily remove. Then I could stand up and readjust the box spring to get the door completely open. Worked great for me. Hats off to the PODS team! Made a stressful coast to coast move work for us and go as well as we could have hoped. Highly recommend!!! read more
