Good first experience for me with one small suggestion: Change the piped in music (in the breast health department) to something relaxing, like what one would hear inside a spa. Unfortunately, our experience has been disappointing, particularly when it comes to customer service. The issues began when my young son was invited by a friend (who is a member) to play basketball. Each visit was a challenge, even when we followed the rules and paid the guest fee. The staff at the front desk was often unfriendly. On one occasion, I was told the person assisting us was new and not yet trained. Things escalated when I received a voicemail informing me that my son could no longer visit because he had exceeded the allowed number of guest passes. I was surprised by this and called in to ask if I could purchase a full-day pass for him to play for just one hour. The front desk staff declined and said I was welcome to explore membership options. She tried transferring me to the membership representative--twice--but no one answered or returned my call.My husband eventually called and was able to speak to the membership person right away. After agreeing to a membership, he told me to go ahead and bring our son in. When we arrived, the same front desk person questioned my young son directly, asking him whether he was allowed in. I was honestly shocked by this level of treatment. While this facility is gorgeous and extremely convenient, the lack of professionalism and the poor customer service left us very disappointed. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously, as it could be a truly great place with the right team and training in place.

If you go to SAA you will accomplish whatever goals you want to achieve regarding your fitness…read more This place has top notch trainers who are well versed in many training techniques and methods with an amazing community of members who motivate each other to achieve their goals. I started at Superior in 2012, the summer before my junior year of high school. I originally wanted to work on my strength and speed as I was working towards furthering my baseball career in high school and college. I saw results after training with Will and Boone for a few months and solidified myself on the varsity baseball roster with the extra power I gained in my arm and my bat. I ended up leading the team in multiple batting categories my junior and senior year and acquired multiple looks from DI and DIII baseball programs. After my senior year, I was accepted to the Coast Guard Academy and earned a spot on their baseball roster while concurrently serving in the military. The strength that I gained from SAA helped me during boot camp and got me through that with ease. Fast forward to 2018, I recently moved back to Chicago and got involved in Olympic Weightlifting. I had a sound basis of the technique that I learned all the way back in 2012 when I first trained at SAA, but I had not trained full time for a while. I wanted to find a program that I could get personal feedback from while having a tailored and individualized workout made for me. I was confident that the coaches could bring me to another level with my lifting abilities. So I decided to take a chance and see what I could learn with the coaches at SAA. I started training with Will and Kurt in August of 2018 and I have seen tremendous gains in my technique, strength, and volume that I can lift. My lifts have gone up various amounts, and I have learned so much about training methods, technique, recovery, and programming with the coaches here. I came in clean and jerking 127kg/279lb, and SAA has helped me get to a 140kg/308lb clean and 151kg/332lb jerk. My squats have increased by 10kg/22lb in the back squat and 15kg/33lb in the front squat. I feel stronger, and I can handle much more volume in training than when I came into SAA in August of 2018. My technique has improved immensely, and I consistently receive feedback on how to lift better. Overall, the community at SAA is hard to beat. Everyone knows each other and motivates one another to reach their goals. The atmosphere is a great place to train and learn in. Everyone is there to help, and the coaches put a lot of time and effort into writing each workout and explaining each part to you. I have felt that if I ever have a problem with any part of the lifts, I can come to any one of the coaches and ask them how to fix it. I am looking forward to the future with SAA, and I am proud to be part of this community.

Lifetime Fitness at Lake Zurich has been a fantastic part of my fitness journey…read more Over the last three months, I have lost close to 30 pounds, become much more consistent, and feel stronger, fitter, and more athletic. The facility is excellent -- from the strength training equipment to the cold plunge, steam room, sauna, swimming, and pickleball. It is a place I genuinely look forward to visiting. A special thank you to Daryl, who has been simply fantastic as a coach and trainer. He is knowledgeable, encouraging, and has helped me stay focused and disciplined. I also had the privilege of working with Kevin, who has been excellent with his coaching and support. Both Daryl and Kevin are outstanding. I also want to recognize Emmanuel, who is always supportive, attentive, and takes great care of members. He is a brilliant young man and a real asset to the team. And Kim at the reception is fantastic -- I keep wondering how she has so much energy to greet everyone with such warmth and enthusiasm every day. Beyond the fitness facilities, I also love the overall environment -- the café, the bar, and the positive energy throughout the club. It feels clean, professional, welcoming, and motivating. Kudos to the entire Lifetime Lake Zurich team. You have built a great place with a great culture. I truly appreciate the role you have played in helping me get healthier and stronger. Thank you.

Upon entering, Holly and the front desk team consistently greet you with a smile, and their positivity radiates. The instructors and trainers are exceptional; they bring so much knowledge, energy, encouragement, and personality to everything they do. Whether you're taking your favorite yoga or barre class (thank you Olga and Christine!), working with a trainer (Deanna is the best!), or are simply looking for motivation, there is always someone there to help you feel supported and challenged in the best possible way. People are encouraging, welcoming, and genuinely happy to see one another. And, it starts the minute you schedule your tour of the facility to see what the club has to offer. My husband and I weren't sure we were going to join, but after spending quality time with Gabi, we were sold. She asked thoughtful questions about our fitness journey and goals, while also making us feel like we were talking to a friend we had known for forever. We knew that showing up and staying committed to our fitness journey was something we were actually going to look forward to, and we weren't wrong! In addition to the exceptional staff, Midtown is a beautiful facility with wonderful amenities. Make sure to schedule a massage with Vanina, and take advantage of the resort like feel of the pools, hot tub, sauna and steam room after a long workout. Grab a meal, get work done in the library between classes, or lounge with a drink in your hand- whatever you're feeling, it's an option! Midtown is a wonderful place to pursue your fitness goals, grow stronger, and become part of a community that wants to see you succeed!

The pool,…read morelocker rooms and class schedule drop the overall "luxury gym" experience to a 3 star club. This summer (as compared to summer 2025) the pool has been a park district experience and not "luxury" or "spa like". From Memorial Day to July 30th the water was cloudy (you could barely see the lap lines on the deep end) with green algae growing on the walls. I brought it to management's attention and they assured me it was safe to swim because they did a "chemical shock" at night. Finally they shut it down for a couple days and fixed whatever the problem was. Kids are going to be at the pool in summertime, I get that! But...there are kids running, screaming and crying from 10:00 on throughout the day with pool toys from home strewn about the deck and pool ledge. Outside food is not allowed, but I've seen families bring in literal picnic baskets and no one says a word. Food dropped or left all over and birds swooping in to pick it up. Gross. One time I was swimming laps and tweens hopped into the adult lap lane next to me and started their own private noodle fight. I was getting inadvertently sacked with noodles and leg kicks while I lapped. Lifeguards just sat there. Underage kids are always in the women's locker room. Always. I brought it to management's attention, but there's been no change. I didn't realize a mom and her three kids had walked in and were in the same area as me and when I turned around to get on my suit a ten year old boy's eyes almost popped out of his head. Ughhhhh! The class schedule is great with a ton of variety for all fitness levels, IF you can workout during the mornings (6-noon). If you can only go at night, there's potentially a single class in the afternoon (4:30/5 start time) for moderate athletes. No barre, yoga or Pilates mat offered at that time on any weekday. I have not brought that up with management because all other issues I've brought to their attention were ignored.

The maintenance staff seems really small still and the building looks completely unkempt, outdated, and dirty. It smells, machines are old and feel scuzzy in the workout rooms. Cancelling our membership because it feels like things just get worse here, unfortunately. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 2021 review: Disappointed post Covid quarantine. They are so understaffed abs there's no childcare help anymore. You must wear a mask to workout in the workout room and all the friendly staff I had formed relationships with are gone. The staff was attentive and ensured the safety of the kids while they enjoyed the facilities. There is also a separate play area for babies. There is something for everyone for various age groups. Another nice amenity for a party room is the separate eating area for parents to relax and socialize while the party was in full swing.
