Good first experience for me with one small suggestion: Change the piped in music (in the breast health department) to something relaxing, like what one would hear inside a spa. Calming music, basically.

Unfortunately, our experience has been disappointing, particularly when it comes to customer service. The issues began when my young son was invited by a friend (who is a member) to play basketball. Each visit was a challenge, even when we followed the rules and paid the guest fee. The staff at the front desk was often unfriendly. On one occasion, I was told the person assisting us was new and not yet trained. Things escalated when I received a voicemail informing me that my son could no longer visit because he had exceeded the allowed number of guest passes. I was surprised by this and called in to ask if I could purchase a full-day pass for him to play for just one hour. The front desk staff declined and said I was welcome to explore membership options. She tried transferring me to the membership representative--twice--but no one answered or returned my call.My husband eventually called and was able to speak to the membership person right away. After agreeing to a membership, he told me to go ahead and bring our son in. When we arrived, the same front desk person questioned my young son directly, asking him whether he was allowed in. I was honestly shocked by this level of treatment. While this facility is gorgeous and extremely convenient, the lack of professionalism and the poor customer service left us very disappointed. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously, as it could be a truly great place with the right team and training in place.

If you go to SAA you will accomplish whatever goals you want to achieve regarding your fitness…read more This place has top notch trainers who are well versed in many training techniques and methods with an amazing community of members who motivate each other to achieve their goals. I started at Superior in 2012, the summer before my junior year of high school. I originally wanted to work on my strength and speed as I was working towards furthering my baseball career in high school and college. I saw results after training with Will and Boone for a few months and solidified myself on the varsity baseball roster with the extra power I gained in my arm and my bat. I ended up leading the team in multiple batting categories my junior and senior year and acquired multiple looks from DI and DIII baseball programs. After my senior year, I was accepted to the Coast Guard Academy and earned a spot on their baseball roster while concurrently serving in the military. The strength that I gained from SAA helped me during boot camp and got me through that with ease. Fast forward to 2018, I recently moved back to Chicago and got involved in Olympic Weightlifting. I had a sound basis of the technique that I learned all the way back in 2012 when I first trained at SAA, but I had not trained full time for a while. I wanted to find a program that I could get personal feedback from while having a tailored and individualized workout made for me. I was confident that the coaches could bring me to another level with my lifting abilities. So I decided to take a chance and see what I could learn with the coaches at SAA. I started training with Will and Kurt in August of 2018 and I have seen tremendous gains in my technique, strength, and volume that I can lift. My lifts have gone up various amounts, and I have learned so much about training methods, technique, recovery, and programming with the coaches here. I came in clean and jerking 127kg/279lb, and SAA has helped me get to a 140kg/308lb clean and 151kg/332lb jerk. My squats have increased by 10kg/22lb in the back squat and 15kg/33lb in the front squat. I feel stronger, and I can handle much more volume in training than when I came into SAA in August of 2018. My technique has improved immensely, and I consistently receive feedback on how to lift better. Overall, the community at SAA is hard to beat. Everyone knows each other and motivates one another to reach their goals. The atmosphere is a great place to train and learn in. Everyone is there to help, and the coaches put a lot of time and effort into writing each workout and explaining each part to you. I have felt that if I ever have a problem with any part of the lifts, I can come to any one of the coaches and ask them how to fix it. I am looking forward to the future with SAA, and I am proud to be part of this community.

The hours are extremely flexible being open from 4am-12am most days of the week and I really love that they have a big kids club for parents to be able to have childcare during their workouts. All the staff I've interacted with have always been very polite. Now for the not so good. Most hours of the day, this place is crowded. Certain machines that are extremely popular are very hard to get access to which requires me to wait around for the machine I need. I also get approached numerous times by people asking me how many sets I have left or if they can work in with me. There are a lot of people in their late teens/very early 20s that use this gym as a social club. They will utilize the machines together and stay on for over 30 minutes not allowing other members to have a turn. A lot of people do not wipe their equipment and there seems to be no signage or enforcement to encourage people to do so. I have also noticed that weights don't get put back in the correct spaces or at all in some cases with a few wobbly weight benches and divots in the floors next to the weight racks that you can easily trip in. I love the recovery room and red light therapy but I really wish that yoga was a part of the regular membership instead of requiring an upgrade. The locker room doesn't provide hair dryers, towels or any hygienic items as other gyms do. I'm continuing to use Vasa as of now, but I'm keeping my options open for other gyms in the area that would be less crowded.
