As a firefighter for 33 years in Aurora I know you need to work extra hard at staying healthy as you enter your retirement years. I met with Natile the owner. I was given a total body scan to measure my body fat, muscle, bone density and body dimensions. That was followed by a beautiful 20 minute RLT session where I was wrapped in warm red lights and then listened to music while I slept. After that I was taken to a floor machine for 9 minutes to assist in lymphatic drainage. At the end of each month I received a new body scan. Each month the report showed a significant loss of subcutaneous body fat (external) and internal body fat surrounding my organs. I put on muscle which is important for healthy cells and most importantly my bone density improved. This is very hard to accomplish as we age. I was very impressed with that. I recently finished my 3rd body scan and all the markers continue to improve and I feel amazing after each session. The most notably marker I found after the first visit was improvement in my vision. I do not wear the goggles, but instead I look into the red lights. In addition they offer a vast array of other healthy services including dietary nutrition, longevity assistance, and other wellness programs. All the staff is so friendly and helpful. The facility is beautiful, clean and very organized. A side note, RLT was invented by NASA to keep plants alive in space and later it was realized the benefits to the human body that were observed.

I had also read that the red light therapy helps with inflammation and thought it would be good for my shoulder impingement issue. The benefits have been really good and after 2 months I am seeing a loss of inches and fat. The 20 minute red light therapy is very relaxing and is then followed by 9 minutes of vibration which has been good on the muscles and lymphatic systems. They provide regular body scans to show the impact on body fat, muscle, bone density and dimensions. The whole place is spotless and comfortable. The best part is their fantastic staff. They are encouraging and knowledgeable and it now feels like visiting family when I arrive. I highly recommend Body Life Luxe not only for their service but for the excellent health benefits.

The studio is state-of-the- art, clean and bright. It is easy to locate with plenty of parking. My husband and I have been clients for 10+ years and work out with our coach for 20 minutes twice a week. It is not an easy workout, but at the end, we feel stronger, more energized, and ready to face the day. There is no question in our minds that the Exercise Coach has positively affected our fitness, strength, stamina, and flexibility.

The model falls apart when the customer service, cost and scheduling are considered. The desk is only staffed 2 days a week so getting on the schedule is dependent on their schedule; this may work for people with a fixed schedule that can make appointments weeks out but it is not effective for active professionals with non fixed schedules. Given the high cost of the service ($299 a month) I feel that having the phone answered for scheduling during normal business hours is not a big ask. Perhaps one number shared between the three facilities in the chain. After struggling to get the six sessions of the first month subscription covered, I canceled with no intent to schedule the remainder. This cost me a monthly fee of $299 and I will move on to a more responsive facility. To cancel I had to contact the office manager via email as multiple calls to the facility went unanswered.

Walking into CrossFit Lake Zurich was one of the best decisions I have ever made and let me just say that when I did walk in this place, it was just a "box" - some weights, kettlebells, barbells, not a whole lot. So obviously there is a lot to be said about the person behind this place but that is something you cannot figure out unless you give it a chance by walking in and trying it. By next year at this time (my 48th birthday), my goal is to be able to do a pullup - maybe even a few - and not something to be taken lightly. There are true athletes who work out here every single day and then there are people like me. Never rule out anything until you try it - that's all I can say. As a chiropractor, Dr. Weiss is attentive and takes the extra time to know his patients and their activities which could contribute to chiropractic issues.
