As a mom who formerly enrolled her baby here, I wish I had more insight and had done more research prior to enrolling them here. I strongly encourage you to look up poinsettia kinder care on the California licensing website ccld.ca.gov. Don't just take my word for it, look at their evaluations from California licensing for yourself. They have TWO type A citations and SIX type B citations that they have been cited for. A type A citation is deemed as something that the state has deemed is an IMMEDIATE threat to your child's health and safety. Don't make the same mistake I did, save you and your child the heartache, and take them to a more reputable daycare. read more

We absolutely loved our experience at KinderCare. We saw our son blossom with sign language, new words, and he got to do so many fun art projects and interactive activities. The staff are excellent communicators and they genuinely care about the kids in their classes. This center has been incredible for the two years our son has been here. Mandy, the director, goes ABOVE and beyond to make this place thrive. For example, throwing full center celebrations to involve the parents, organizing meaningful opportunities to appreciate the staff, provide ongoing education and trainings to the staff, and offer full transparency with families. It's evident our son is in great care and we are so grateful to everyone at this center who continues to shape our son's life. The monthly "lesson plans/themes" have been so much fun and our son has made wonderful friends. Poinsettia Kindercare is an amazing place! The entire staff is so caring and I have been so impressed with the events for the students and also the opportunities for the parents to be involved. All the teachers know my son's name and I know he is in great hands. I would recommend this place to any parent looking for a wonderful place for your little one. The in-house kitchen helps provide varied meals and my son has started to try & like more foods after being exposed to new foods here (even broccoli!). I also like the convenience of not having to pack a lunch for him (all snacks & meals are included in tuition). The app & communication has been great and I know he is having fun everyday and trying new activities. We absolutely love Poinsettia Kindercare! It was really hard to leave (we had a job move that changed our commute and we had to switch daycares). It's been 8 months since we left and my appreciation is STILL on my mind--that's how much I love it here. We sent our baby there for a year and a half until he was 2 years old. The staff is SO loving, and I just feel so grateful for that. It can be scary sending your baby or toddler to new care, and I felt so relieved seeing how much the teachers genuinely care about the kids. I felt like my kiddo was genuinely loved. I will also forever be impressed with the activities they come up with for the kids! Every day there is something new and they create really great weekly curriculum (yes curriculum, even for babies and toddlers--My son learned so much here and was so confident and happy here) with a lot of hands-on sensory play, outside time, crafts, just a lot freaking cool things that I felt like my kid was able to do outside of what I do with him (and frankly, cooler stuff that I would never have thought of). A LOT of time and thoughtfulness goes into these activities and the organization of them. Shout out to teachers we still miss and who I'll forever be grateful to: Ms. Yesenia, Ms. Tomoko, Ms. Leti, Ms. Vanessa, Ms. Annie, Ms. Soccoro, and the wonderful guidance of Director Melissa and Asst. Director Corrie, who I think set the tone for the whole school. They even create a whole summer program for the kids with hot weather activities and new activities (this felt really special since my kid was in care full time throughout the year, I love that the school made it feel like summer was different from the rest of the year and something to look forward to) with summer t shirts and water bottles. Each week was a new theme, and they work really hard to bring in learning opportunities and outside entertainment for the kids--for example, they had an animal handler bring in animals for the kids to learn about and even pet some of them. I love how the school also builds community and puts on seasonal events for the kids on campus to attend with their families, which was SO cool--I was so impressed w/ the festivals they create with games, food, and activities, and all are welcome. One time we brought my 4 year old (who went to a different school) w us to the festival and they were so welcoming to her too, which I thought was great. One thing I'll never forget being amazed by is how ALL the staff (even teachers who did not have my kiddo in their class) knew my kid by name and had something nice to say to me about him whenever they saw him and as we walked the halls, and what really blew me away was that they also knew my daughters' name (she doesn't even go there!) and always said hi to her too. It has been 1 year today that my son has been attending Poinsettia Kindercare and we have enjoyed every minute of it. The directors, Corrie and Melissa, know all the kids and they seem to really enjoy what they do. They are wonderful. We have had incredible people caring for our son and honor his differences and let him be his true self. Ms. Socorro, Ms. Tomoko, Ms. Yesenia, Ms. Leti, Ms. Ariana, Ms. Andi, Ms. Ayanna and so many others have been so positive and they are so kind. He has learned so much and even though it's not classified as 'Montessori' I feel that is a similar approach they take. They do have some structured time where they help children understand how to be a part of a group and learn to follow some general rules like circle time, lunch, crafts, and outdoor play - but they also let them have dance parties and truly enjoy just being a little kid. We love Poinsettia KinderCare! It's stressful finding someone to care for your child when you're not able to, but my daughter is in such good hands with KinderCare. All of the teachers are kind and welcoming , not just to my daughter but to me as well. Most of the teachers have worked in childcare for a long time so they are experts at making this first time mom feel ok about my daughter's development (seriously it's such a blessing)! They truly care about the kids and all the teachers seem to know every child by name and not just the ones in their classroom. Communication has been great and the daily updates through the app are so quick and convenient. I also like that we can pay our tuition online with autopay. I adore this Kindercare location! The Director Rebekah could not be more on point. She goes above and beyond. She is literally one of the kindest human beings I have ever met. I discovered this location originally when relocating to California September of 2019. I mapped it out and it was in the vicinity of an employer I was interviewing with. Rebekah accommodated me for a trial day so I could interview and see if it was a good fit in one fell swoop. My then 3 year old son loved it! He was on one side of the spacious outdoor play area pedaling like a mad toddler and would not come out of one those Fisher Price pedal and go Fred Flinstone esque cars. He did not want to leave! Lol. The teacher over his class when I came to pick him up was happy, friendly and sooo good with the kiddos. We struck up a good conversation outside and I just felt so welcomed. Seeing my kid not wanting to leave and in the hands of such warm, caring staff. If all the kids are happy it always a good sign. I didn't end up getting that particular position I interviewed for but I kept in touch with Rebekah and months and months later I was able to finally enroll my son. I had been having difficulty potty training him and within a month of being there he was feeling more at ease and less resistant to the potty training process. He quickly started going at home in his little potty on his own and was wearing big boy underwear. The teachers were so helpful and patient with him. Also, helping me with potty training tips. Not to mention all round the other wonderful growth milestones he experienced from being in such loving care. His speech started improving. He became more confident in his little self. He would tell me new things he was learning and what he drew, how many times he played outside. They constantly would be making little art masterpieces which are displayed so adorably throughout the spacious building as you walk thru. And ofcourse, mainly taken home to show off as well. He was growing and thriving so well at this location and I would highly, highly, highly recommend it. If I could give 6 stars I would. They go above and beyond that much. All the teachers and staff at this location are wonderful. The only reason we aren't there is due to COVID and the hours were shorter when we needed the care after they reopened. Rebekah was wonderful enough to help us find another location in the interim. read more

We finally looked into a few other daycare centers in the South Carlsbad area and ultimately decided on the Poinsettia KinderCare. While some of the programs seemed similar (price and education wise), when I toured KC, the warmth of the staff and the huge outdoor playground with all that green grass sold me on this facility. Our daughter is now ready to move on to kindergarten and it is very bittersweet to leave this place that has been a huge source of kindness, care, safety and fun for not just our child, but for the entire family. I rarely write reviews, but both of our children (and infant and a toddler) are at the Poinsettia Kindercare, and we have nothing but great things to say. Our kids are excited to go to school, we constantly get great updates during the day, and both kids are doing engaging activities that help them learn and develop throughout the day (painting, developmental exercises, etc.). It's a little pricier than other daycares in the area, but we went for it since it's walkable and provides breakfast and lunch, which has been really convenient for us. Our 2.5 year old is constantly talking about her teachers (Ms. Kira!) and friends, and says "I want to go to school!" in the mornings. The teachers feel like family. I definitely recommend read more

Rebekah and staff are absolutely incredible! Very professional and clean. I joined during covid, so unfortunately at this time, I have not been able to go inside. However, the staff does a wonderful job of sending multiple pictures, videos, and other updates throughout the day so that you are aware of your child's bathroom habits, daily food intake, and what they are learning. When my wife and I had to go back to work after the initial COVID lockdown our previous childcare center was not open, so we decided to enroll our son in the Poinsettia Kindercare. We have been very impressed with how they are handling the social distancing and safety guidelines at this center. It is hard not being able to go in to pick up my son, but he is always brought out promptly and with a huge smile on his face! Even without being able to go into the building, we have been able to build a good relationship with the teachers. They have been doing a great job communicating how his days have gone in the classroom. Our son is always excited to go to "school" every morning, he even rushes us so he can get there. He constantly talks about his teachers and it makes us feel like he is being treated like family at this center. read more

Our daughter started at 3 months. With a new baby and heading back to work, there are all types of things to worry about, but sending our little one to KinderCare was not on the list. She is always well cared for and happy to come to school. She has bonded with her room's head teacher. I love this school. I enrolled my kids at Poinsettia a little over 1 month ago. My oldest does not attach well to strangers. She loves her teacher. I could not ask for a better person to care for her while I am gone. My daughter comes home happy every day, to me that means the world. Their meal plans are very nutritious compared to every other facility I interviewed. The group she is with seems like a great group, after the initial week of anxiety, she now gets up and is excited to go play with her friends and asks for her teacher by name. They have plenty of yard time and the yard at this place are HUGE!!! My youngest comes home singing the alphabet (she's 2)!!! She is also counting to 15 (within a couple days of enrollment) and singing nursery rhymes. Her teacher is great at making me feel involved by giving daily written updates. Also we have been given a few pictures of what they did through out the day. What a great reminder of what she got to do. I will keep them to look back on later on. My son has attended here for over a year. All the teachers he has encountered have been amazing. However NONE of his primary teachers are there anymore. Literally NONE. That is 6 teachers. The administration that runs this place is literally terrible. They only care about dollars and cents. I had 1 complaint and called corporate because again administration is terrible. They called district manager who is a joke. Bottom line do not put your kids here. The teachers do their best but they have zero support and for that reason the center is losing good teachers. My daughter has been going to Kindrcare since she was 6 weeks old. The teachers are kind. The class rooms are clean and safe. The teachers read to her, do tummy time, make art projects, sometimes they even send picture or two home. The "daily" is detailed -I like knowing when she eats, sleeps and has her diaper changed ! Unbelievably terrible child care. The worse experience I have ever with any daycare for my daughter. She absolutely hated it. Every minute of it. Worse of all, when we tried to pull her out of the school we had to pay an extra two weeks because we did give enough "notice" that we were ending the contract. Typical corporate scum lords that run this puppy mill make it easy to start but hell to get out. They scheme that by making difficult to end the contract that you will keep on paying. This was a nice place for kids and parents, until this year. KinderCare moved the director from its Del Mar center to this center. Since then on, it starts to drop services, unwilling to provide services that were provided all the time. The food change to something that the new director likes but the kids won't touch. The new director just let you feel you owe her big money and complains the parents. Of course, as another review says, many good teachers left. Anyway, I am checking other daycare centers. By the way, this is also a good news for parents in Del Mar area. That center could be better now. read more

We've had a great experience at the poinsettia Kindercare! Enrolling our three-year-old was a breeze and we love his teacher Ms. Elizabeth! The classrooms are set up well and the daily curriculum is exactly what we were looking for. Our son loves it there! Hmm, I heard there were some "interesting" reviews involving Poinsettia KinderCare on Yelp, so I logged on today to check them out. Wow, shocking! And not necessarily accurate. #1 - there has definitely been some turnover lately, but that's the nature of life. A lot of that turnover has been from the top (i.e. management), not necessarily all of the teachers. I too had a little trepidation about new faces and goings on, but I decided to just to talk to my kids' teachers about it. Guess what? They addressed my concerns and have been working with me regarding what I initially felt was lacking! #2 - to the lady dinging Miss Kandi about lack of discretion: I've watched you speak to her in the midst of the children. Did you expect your daughter, and other children, to NOT hear what YOU were saying? Please look at yourself before laying blame at others' feet. #3 - Management - I was concerned at first, but have found Lorena to be very personable and open to speaking with me ANY time. I've begun to realize that she is very busy being thrown into this situation and doesn't always have the chance to reach out to every parent. However, EVERY time I've reached to her, she's been amazing. And, my kids LOVE her. #4 - The moral of the story is: rather than just complaining, get involved. This is a great place to have your kids. There may be some change going on, but nothing that's worth freaking out over. read more
